Chapter Divorce After 10 Year 6
Chapter 6
Alpha Fenrir had just concluded a lengthy meeting with his pack council, feeling the weight of responsibility pressing heavily on his shoulders. He was mentally exhausted, and all he wanted was a few moments of peace. However, before he could even settle, his Beta entered the room, leading a young maid whose face was streaked with fresh blood, trickling down from a cut on her forehead.
Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, and her hands trembled as she held a cloth to her wound.
Fenrir's brow furrowed, a surge of anger flashing across his face.
"What's going on?" he demanded, his tone steely as he looked from the maid to his Beta.
The Beta turned to the maid and gave her a nod, urging her to speak. Taking a shaky breath, she lowered the cloth, revealing the full extent of the cut on her forehead.
"It... it was the new Luna, Alpha," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur. She avoided meeting Fenrir's gaze, clearly afraid of the consequences of speaking ill of the Luna.
Fenrir's eyes narrowed, a sense of disbelief mingling with a simmering anger.
"Arianna did this?" he asked, struggling to contain his temper. He had known Arianna could be demanding, but this crossed a line he hadn't anticipated.
This was not the first complaint he had received about Arianna's behavior, but he had assumed it was merely a case of her adjusting to her new role. Now, it seemed there was a darker side to her actions.
The maid nodded, wincing as she gently pressed the cloth back to her forehead.
Fenrir clenched his jaw, barely able to keep his anger in check. He had allowed Arianna back into his life, believing that the bond they shared was unbreakable.
He had sacrificed his relationship with Aurora, his fated mate, to rekindle his first love, but now, doubt crept into his mind, casting a shadow over his decision.
His Beta cleared his throat, sensing Fenrir's anger. "Alpha, with all due respect, this isn't the first complaint I've received from the pack members about Luna Arianna's behavior."
Fenrir took a deep breath, steeling himself. He couldn't ignore this any longer; he had to confront Arianna about her actions. He turned to his Beta, his voice cold. "Find Arianna and bring her here. I'll speak to her myself."
The Beta bowed and left the room, and Fenrir sat back in his chair, fingers drumming impatiently on the table. He couldn't fathom why Arianna, who had once seemed so warm and caring, was behaving this way. The person he was hearing about now felt like a stranger. Several minutes later, the Beta returned, his expression tense. He cleared his throat and spoke carefully, "Alpha, I delivered your message, but... the Luna said she was too busy to come."
A dangerous silence filled the room, and Fenrir's jaw tightened, his eyes flashing with barely restrained fury. Arianna dared to ignore his summons, to dismiss him as though he were some subordinate? She seemed to have forgotten that he was the Alpha, the leader of this pack. His patience was at its breaking point.
"Too busy?" he repeated, his voice dripping with disbelief. The audacity was beyond what he had expected, and with every second, his anger grew. He took a deep breath, willing himself to keep calm, but his grip on the chair tightened until his knuckles turned white. The Beta, sensing Fenrir's brewing storm of anger, spoke hesitantly, "Alpha, if you'd like, I could try to bring her here by force "
"No," Fenrir cut him off, his voice cold and resolute. "I will go to her myself. It seems Arianna needs a reminder of who she's dealing with."
Fenrir rose from his chair, the authority in his stance unmistakable.
Without another word, he strode out of the room, his expression dark and his steps purposeful. The pack members he passed along the way quickly averted their gaze, sensing the Alpha's rage and knowing better than to get in his way.
