Chapter Divorce After 10 Year 5
Chapter 5
Aurora steadied herself as she and her mother made their way to the pack's gates, preparing to leave the place that had once been her entire world.
As they neared the car, a voice cut through the stillness, laced with venom and malice.
"Well, well," Arianna sneered, stepping out from behind a tree with a smug smile. "Leaving so soon, Luna? Or should I say, ex-Luna?"
Aurora ignored her, quickening her pace and keeping her gaze forward. Her mother placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, guiding her toward the car. But Arianna's voice grew louder, the taunts echoing in the quiet night.
"What, you're just going to walk away like the coward you are? You can't even hold onto your mate! Pathetic... absolutely pathetic. A Luna without loyalty... no wonder Fenrir couldn't stand the sight of you." She laughed, the sound grating on Aurora's nerves. Aurora clenched her fists, feeling her temper flare as Arianna's insults continued, each word slicing through her composure.
She could feel her mother's concerned glance, silently pleading for her to let it go. But there was only so much a person could take, and Arianna seemed intent on testing her limits.
"Run along with your little bastard," Arianna called after them, a mocking lilt in her tone. "You're leaving with nothing, and that's all you ever were nothing."
Aurora froze, her breath catching at the cruel word, and before she could stop herself, she turned on her heel. Her mother's hand tightened on her shoulder, but Aurora stepped forward, eyes blazing with fury.
"You want to talk about loyalty?" she spat, her voice low and controlled. "I may be leaving, but I did so with dignity, something you'll never understand."
Arianna scoffed, rolling her eyes, but before she could retort, Aurora raised her hand and, with all the pent-up pain and frustration, struck her across the cheek.
The sound of the slap echoed in the silence, and for a brief moment, Arianna looked genuinely stunned, her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
But the shock quickly turned to anger. Arianna's eyes narrowed, and she raised her hand to strike back, her lips curled in a vicious snarl.
"Enough!" Aurora's mother stepped between them, her voice firm and filled with disappointment. She looked at Aurora, shaking her head slightly. "This isn't you, Aurora. Fighting over a man? After all that's happened? Have some pride." Aurora's anger wavered, and she felt a pang of guilt as her mother's words hit home.
She had always taught her to value herself above the petty jealousies and rivalries that plagued others.
Standing here, bickering with Arianna, felt like stooping to her level. And that was the last thing she wanted.
Arianna, however, seemed anything but defeated. She smoothed her hair, her smug smile returning as she looked between Aurora and her mother with a sly glint in her eyes.
"Oh, but there's something you should know," Arianna said, her voice dripping with mock sweetness. She paused, letting the moment hang, her eyes glinting with cruel satisfaction. "I'm pregnant."
The words hit Aurora like a blow. For a moment, all she could do was stare, her mind struggling to process the sudden, brutal revelation.
Arianna's smile widened at Aurora's reaction, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Yes, that's right. I'll be giving Fenrir the heir he always wanted, something you clearly weren't capable of doing." She placed a hand on her stomach, her expression filled with smug triumph. Pregnant.
Arianna was carrying Fenrir's child too.
