Chapter 100

Listening to the loud roar of the sports car's engine, Ellie calmly met the fierce, blood-red eyes of Alex.

His expression was so intense, and it seemed like he wanted to hit the gas and knock her right out of the Warren family's gate.

In the next moment, the sports car reversed out of the gate with a smooth drift and quickly vanished from Ellie's view.

Ellie watched as Alex's sports car drove away, a slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

Since she returned home before Thanksgiving, so much had happened, keeping her emotions constantly on edge.

Thinking about how Alex almost revealed her embarrassment at the welcome home party, Ellie felt a heavy discomfort in her heart.

Now that everything had temporarily settled, she just wanted to relax and do nothing.

Around ten in the morning, Ellie went to Encounter Bar and met Whitney.

"I've heard about the welcome home party." At the bar counter, Whitney opened a bottle of juice for Ellie, giving her a significant look. "With your current status, working part-time here, I'm worried Mr. Warren might come to give me a hard time." Ellie awkwardly spoke, "Whitney, even though I'm living back at the Warren family, I don't want to be a freeloader."

The welcome home party was halted by Alex, so even if others didn't say anything directly, there would definitely be gossip behind her back.

But those comments didn't really mean anything to her. The difficulties and harm she faces had never come from strangers.

She joined the Warren family to be on guard against Alex and Haley. In the end, she was also using the elders of the Warren family.

She moved back to live with the Warren family and changed how she addressed them, but she wouldn't take any of the Warren family's shares.

She had her own goals and boundaries. From now on, Alex might not be her brother by blood, but he was still a brother to

her.

Whitney teased with a smile. "While you were away studying this past year, Alex and his friends spent quite a lot here. He often drank a lot, passed out in the room, and left on his own in the morning. He's kind of pathetic, you know?" Ellie parted her lips but didn't reply. She thought, 'Pathetic? Just be thankful he didn't harm anyone,

After making arrangements with Whitney to continue her part-time job after a month, Ellie left the bar and saw Haley. Ellie didn't want to bother with her, so she went straight to get a taxi, but Haley followed her to the roadside. "Ellie, even though you're with the Warrens, Alex is the only heir. He's had such a fight with his parents because of you. Can you really live there without any worry?" Haley said calmly, standing in front of Ellie with a restrained attitude. Ellie lifted her gaze to look at Haley. "I'm a daughter of the Warren family, so naturally I'm comfortable living there. What's there to worry about?"

Haley glared fiercely at Ellie, holding back the urge to run up and slap her.

"Ellie,

could hat exactly did Carlos say to you in the sitting room last night? Why is Alex suddenly enlisting?" Haley finally hold back and asked.

Ellie replied, "Why don't you ask the person who told you that? It's a lot more efficient than asking me."

Their eyes met; Ellie remained calm while Haley was clearly about to lose control.

Seeing Ellie constantly give her subtle jabs, Haley forced herself to control her emotions and softened her tone.

She said, "Ellie, you've already achieved your goal of joining the Warren family. Even if Alex's parents are temporarily upset about him being with me, he's their only son, and eventually, they'll accept me.

"I need you to convince Alex to stay and not join the army. Let's leave our past grievances behind and get along."

Ellie refused and said, "Haley, we don't just have grudges-it's pure hostility! There's no way we'll ever get along in this lifetime!"

Ellie's phone vibrated in her pocket. She picked it up to leave, but Haley stopped her, losing control.

Ellie lifted her phone in Haley's face and said, "If my mom finds out you're bothering me again, don't blame her for not being nice to you!"

Seeing Nancy's name flash on Ellie's phone screen, Haley held back her jealousy and stepped back. Her angry eyes were locked onto the phone in Ellie's hand.

She had seen this rose gold phone in Alex's car. It was the same model but a different color from the one Alex used. It was a limited edition from the luxury brand Alex preferred.

She initially thought it was a little surprise from Alex, so she put it back where she found it.

She wondered why Alex hadn't given her this phone yet after waiting for so long. It turned out Alex gave this phone to this ungrateful Ellie.

She remembered that Alex also bought a similar sports car but in a different color for Ellie. Even though Ellie didn't accept it, Haley was still driven crazy by jealousy.

Now that Ellie had joined the Warren family, and the older members treated her like a treasure, making a scene now would only embarrass her.

At noon, Ellie went to a restaurant using the address sent by Lacey. From a distance, Ellie noticed Diana was there too.

Ellie politely greeted her and sat down next to Lacey.

Diana, wearing a trendy and sexy outfit with meticulously done makeup, leaned on the table with one elbow, resting her chin on her hand, smiling mischievously at Ellie. Feeling uneasy under Diana's gaze, Ellie awkwardly looked at Lacey.

Lacey, with her playful eyes and single eyelid, stared at Ellie. "We've been talking about you all morning."

Ellie was a little confused and slightly furrowed her brows.

As her gaze returned, Ellie saw Diana across the table still staring intensely at her.

"Hey, is Mark trying to pursue you?" Ellie was taken aback by Diana's sudden question, almost choking on her drink.

"No, don't misunderstand, Ms. Grant." Ellie quickly put her glass down, waving her hands.

Seeing Ellie's reaction, Diana sat up straight with disappointment. "Is Mark really that bad?"

Ellie felt awkward and at a loss. "No, Mark's really great, honestly

Diana suddenly grabbed Ellie's hand. "Then would you consider it?"

Ellie shook her head rapidly, completely bewildered. Diana went on, "If my Mark isn't right, how about my second brother,

Lucas?"

Lacey chimed in dismissively, "Diana, Lucas is much older than Ellie and quite past his prime. He's like a cunning old fox- he'd sell Ellie off, and she'd still end up counting money for him."

"That's true." Diana muttered to herself, then looked back at Ellie. "What about my fourth brother, Joey? He's great, and he can fight and handle legal issues."

Lacey remarked, "Joey is like an ice cube, barely says anything for days, and has serious OCD. He treats women like they're ghosts and is committed to no marriage and no kids. Don't drag Ellie into this."

Diana exclaimed, "Then my fifth brother, Tim! He's incredibly handsome, and his abs and that face are amazing!" Lacey retorted, "Tim is just a flashy playboy who dreams of being a kept man. Ellie can't afford to support him." Diana said, "Well, surely my sixth brother, Liam, is a safe bet. He's really good at making money."

Lacey replied, "Liam might know how to make money, but he's an old miser who only cares about money, never spending anything."

Diana said, "My seventh brother, Steven, is a bright and cheerful guy, super smart, and really generous to girls."

Lacey said, "Steven acts crazy, and it's as terrifying as that jerk from the Warren family. Seriously, don't do it."

Diana was speechless and seemed completely deflated.

"No, no need, Ms. Grant." Ellie listened to their conversation, feeling her heart skip a beat in fear. It seemed like none of these sons from the Grant family were normal.
