Love Is Fair

Chapter 372

Chapter 372 Auston
The Moore family soon came again. This time, Steven brought Auston over, who was Wade's eldest son. And they looked
sincere.
Hailey had expected Steven to come, so she was working from home to wait for him. But she had not expected him to bring
Auston over. After all, she had the least communication with him among all the members of the Moore family.
Although Auston was older than Bob and Benson, he looked much younger. His clothes were straight and neat, and he looked
like a well-behaved student.
When he followed his grandfather into the house, he looked shy as if having a social anxiety disorder. As soon as he saw a
person, he unconsciously hid behind Steven's back, but then, he politely said hello.
He was good-looking with red lips and white teeth, and his narrow eyes resembled Owen's. But Owen's eyes were deep, while
his eyes were clear, revealing his ignorance and innocence. His temperament made people involuntarily want to take care of
him.
Lily beckoned Steven and Auston to sit down on the sofa and made coffee for them in person. Auston sat upright and obediently
said, "Thank you".
Lily had seen too many naughty children, so she liked this well-behaved and polite boy very much. So, she said, Mr. Moore, you
must be hungry after the long journey. The cook made some cakes. Would you like to have a try?"
Auston was staring at the hot coffee, waiting for it to cool down. When he heard her words, he raised his head in a daze, thought
for a while, and slowly nodded, "Yes, please."
When he smiled slightly and revealed his white and neat teeth, melting Lily's heart. When Hailey and Jason went downstairs,
they both saw his sincere smile and were slightly stunned.
Auston soon sensed them approaching, immediately put away his smile, abruptly stood up, looked at Hailey, and obediently said,
‘Hi Hailey."
Then he realized that he had made a mistake, so he immediately corrected himself, saying, "Ms. Newman!"

He then bowed to Jason and said, "Mr. Newman, nice to meet you.”
Hi, Auston. Hailey was slightly surprised, looked at Steven, and nodded, "Grandpa, long time no see.“
Steven had brought Auston here probably because he was well-behaved. When Hailey had been in the Moore family, she had
heard Wade's wife talk about her two sons.
Bob was a naughty and good-time boy, while Auston had always been well-behaved. He had never caused trouble. Except for
studying, he only played chess. He had participated in so many competitions that his trophies had almost filled his bedroom.
Although the money he earned was enough for him to support his future family, his mother was still worried for him because he
lacked the ability to take care of himself and did not know the ways of the world. She was afraid he could not survive in this cruel
society. But she was thinking too much.
Auston had come in and sat down for only five minutes, but all kinds of snacks and fruits had already filled the coffee table. Lily
had even brought all the cakes out of the kitchen. Many people were eager to feed him now. But the other young masters of the
Moore family had never been treated like this when they had come.
Hailey said, "Lily, didn't Kyle bring some beef jerky and dried fruit here when he came last time?"
“Yes! I almost forgot. I'll take them over right now.’
Seeing Steven, Jason walked over with a pipe in his mouth and snorted, "Why are you here? Are you taking turns in visiting me
to wear me out and kill me?"
Steven smiled, “Come on! Stop thinking nonsense. What can I benefit from your death? You have such a good granddaughter.
And many people are taking care of you. You will live longer than me."
"Cut it out!" Jason wasn't flattered but said, "If Hailey had not persuaded me to come downstairs, I wouldn't bother with the mess
of the Moore family! ’
You're lying.” Steven said, "After all, our friendship has lasted for so many years. Even if we put it aside, don't you know your
problem?"
Jason glared at him and asked, What do you mean?"

Once you begin to do something, you must finish it perfectly." Steven smiled, "You're a perfectionist with obsessive-compulsive
disorder. No psychologist can cure you."
Jason snapped, "Get lost!"
‘‘Come on! You're getting old! You should learn to control your temper." Steven pulled him to sit down and continued, “It is my
fault this time. I didn't keep an eye on the people below. This will never happen again. You are the leader of the project, and you
have the final say on everything.
”Don't think I go back for our friendship! I'm going back for the money!" Jason snorted, "I know you capitalists well. The project is
half done, and I can't get my remuneration until I finish the remaining half.”
Steven squinted and smiled, You don't have to worry about the money. You signed the contract with Owen. All the profits of the
project will belong to Hailey. I know you want to make money for your granddaughter."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jason glared at him and tutted, "Why are you talking about that? Who allows you to say that?"
He had stubbornly hidden it from Hailey before, but everything was exposed now. Hailey had long known, so she just slightly
smiled.
When the two old men were bickering, Auston was eating quietly with undivided attention, showing the utmost respect for the
food. His cheeks were bulging, so he looked like a little squirrel.
Jason did not want to waste time speaking with Steven anymore, so he looked at Auston gently and asked, "Auston, would you
like to play chess with me?"
In addition to playing Go, Auston was also good at chess. When Jason had first arrived in North City, no one could play chess
with him. So, Owen had sent Auston to play with him. As time went by, they had become chess friends.
Hearing his words, Auston desperately chewed the food in his mouth. After swallowing it, he pursed his lips and said solemnly,
“Okay.”
When they moved to another place to play chess, a maid followed them with a plate of snacks. She wanted to watch the game
and feed Auston in passing.
Soon, only Steven, Hailey, and Mr. Thompson were left in the living room.

“Hailey..." Steven changed his playful attitude, put on a serious face, and said, "To tell you the truth, I can't handle the Mazedew
Group now. I am old, so I should have stopped caring about fame and fortune. But I am reluctant to see the Mazedew Group
collapse like this. After all, it is the fruit of many people's painstaking labor. I can’t handle the things in the future, but I hope that it
can be good when I am alive."
This was the real thought of a successful entrepreneur.
Others might not understand him, but Hailey had witnessed how her parents had started their business, so she understood his
thoughts well. Such a large business group could not be built up overnight. Many people had made painstaking efforts for it. It
was built with blood and sweat.
"I'm old and don't have the energy to cultivate another heir. My sons are both good-for-nothing, so I can't count on them.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have swallowed my pride to beg you."
‘Grandpa, please don't say such words." Hailey comforted him and then said in a calm tone, "I can take over the Mazedew
Group, but I have three conditions. If you agree, I will go back with you.”
When Steven heard this, his eyes lit up. Then, he said, "Go ahead!"
