Love Is Fair

Chapter 371

Chapter 371 Little Tricks!
The Moores family held a family meeting with the entire group present. Bob and Benson took the lead, talking about their
experiences in Poya City over the past two days and Jason's thoughts on coming back to continue working on the "Never Lose
and Never Forget” project.
“Grandpa Jason is still angry. But I asked Grandpa Donald about it. He said he has tried everything to persuade Grandpa Jason
to change his mind. I think there's still hope.” By saying so, Bob built confidence for everyone.
Benson said, "Hey, Ms. Newman lives in a really beautiful rose garden! She's really rich. She doesn't care about the little money
of our family!" He said gleefully, then looked at Wade and Jalen and said, "So don't be mean and contempt her.”
Wade and Jalen’s faces turned serious when they heard this, and they cursed in unison, "Brat, who is mean?!"
Benson screamed and ran behind Abby for protection, saying, "I didn't say anything about you guys, so why get mad?"
"What! How dare you?" Jalen went after him and tried to slap him.
Abby stopped Jalen and said, "Come on, stop it. Didn't you and Wade go to Poya City too? Tell us what you got."
Hearing this, Wade and Jalen became depressed. The two brothers looked worried and repeated what Hailey said. After
listening to them, everyone was silent.
Polly couldn't help but diss, "You guys are so bold. Why didn't Hailey kick you out?"
Wade and Jalen looked up towards Polly. "Polly, it's okay if you don't help us. Why are you laughing at us?"
Polly said with a solemn face, ‘You guys are making a mess of things. Are you dreaming that I would compliment you? Are you
fools? Losers!"
Wade and Jalen felt ashamed after being scolded. But Polly scolded them since they were young, and they have long been used
to that. Even Bob and Benson, the younger generation, listened and silently praised in their hearts, ‘Good work.’
Gene went over to Polly and gently stroked her on the back. “Aunt Polly, calm down. It's no use being angry. We can only try to
find a solution. What else can we do if Ms. Newman won't come?"

Everyone was at a loss and looked over towards Steven. Steven was sitting in the rose chair. He pondered for a moment with his
eyes downcast, and let out a long breath. "In that case, I'll have to be the one to plead.”
He made up his mind, looked up and said, "Tomorrow I’m going to Poya City. This time, Auston and I will go together."
“Auston?” The crowd looked towards Auston in unison. Auston, who had been sitting in the corner in silence, was also
dumbfounded and frozen.
Wade wondered, “Dad, what's the use of letting Auston go with you? He doesn't know anything else but chess."
Auston nodded dumbly, his narrow eyes full of pure ignorance.
Steven glared in Wade's direction, saying, ‘Your son is more useful than you. At least he talks less than you and is less
annoying.”
Wade was silent.
"It's settled." Steven waved his hand and said, "Go back to your homes and have a good rest."
Everyone got up and said good night to Steven and Abby. Abby pulled Polly, "Polly, stay here. Your father and I have something
to ask you.”
After the crowd left, Abby pulled Polly and asked, ‘What's going on with you and that young boy right now? Tell me and your dad
about it."
Polly said helplessly, "Mom, he’s not young anymore. He looks young, but he's older than me. You can call him ‘Larry’, I'm more
used to it.”
“Okay, Larry."
Abby smiled and said, “Are you and Larry in a relationship?"
“How could that be?" Polly blushed and said, "He and I are just close and normal friends. It's not what you think...”
“Really? Larry came to our house from Fenneth for you. You have to respond to him.” Steven tried his best to persuade.

Abby echoed, 'Yes. Larry is funny. He’s a great doctor, a gentleman, and much better than Alan. You're happy with him. I can tell
it.”
Polly bowed her head and smiled at the thought of Larry, saying, "He is quite funny."
Polly's smile made Steven and Abby even more certain. Their daughter had been excellent and sensible since she was a child,
better than their two sons. But she had just gotten emotionally confused and almost died.
Now her son was also... They really cared for their daughter. They had no other thoughts. They just hoped that their daughter
would have a soulmate for the rest of her life who would love and cherish her well.
Hailey was reading, "May I catch one's heart and never be apart.” She sat on the balcony, flipping through a book of poems in
her hand. Her mind was in chaos. She stared at the darkness of the night, trying to clear her mind of the chaos, but found it
useless.
She originally thought she knew Owen better than anyone else. But this painting of Mona Lisa suddenly made her doubt herself.
Even if computer technology was great, there were things that could not be fixed. It was as if she had no idea that Owen would
even be able to forge and have such superb painting skills.
Thinking of all those moments when she had flaunted her skills in front of him, Hailey felt ashamed. It was ridiculous that she
displayed her skills before an expert. What was he thinking at that moment? Would he think, What's the point of showing off in
front of me? Little tricks!’
Hailey sat alone for a long time, supporting her head, and let out a sigh in the silent night. It was true that having a crush made
someone in chaos. Perhaps her crush from the beginning of that decade was a figure of her imagination. That man was tall,
masculine, handsome, and perfect like Apollo. The real Owen, however, was not perfect. He was a living and breathing human
being, with strengths and weaknesses.
Because of her fantasies, those fantasies were shattered little by little when she married him and got close to him. This made her
unbearable and withdrew. If at that time, she could compete with Eliza head-on and bravely take back the man that belonged to
her. It would be none business of Eliza. Maybe she didn’t love him that much, at least not as much as she thought she did. One
loved oneself the most.
When she thought of those, Hailey smiled gently and closed the book of poems. By now, she was truly relieved. She was
relieved of her love for Owen and her hatred for him.

Getting up from the balcony, she looked at the painting of Mona Lisa spread out on the bar and stretched out her fingers to
gently stroke it. “It's worth it to have loved him."
