Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1575: A Common Enemy

As soon as Chris left, Eliazar contacted Marcos at home and filled him in on the situation.

"Looks like he's not in much of a hurry." Marcos' eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a hint of danger. If that was the case, to hurry.

So Marcos asked Alfredo to secretly take a share of Chris's market share in the country.

This was a new blow for Chris.

Chris was so busy running both sides of the fence that he had no time to deal with Linda.

When Linda saw the state of his company, she was sincerely disappointed.

She had thought she had found a sponsor that would help her get even and double the amount of pain she had suffered.

What had happened?

How was she going to deal with that bitch Paulina when the company was being suppressed like that and people were so busy that they seemed to have forgotten about her? The more Linda thought about it, the more frustrated and upset she became with Chris.

Especially when she thought that Paulina was now protected by Marcos and no one could hurt her.

But she's nothing!

Linda was cynical and resentful.

That day, before Chris left the house, she stopped him, "Can you tell me what's wrong? You haven't even been with me very long."

"Linda, I'm sorry." Chris grabbed her shoulders and assured her, "You can trust me, as soon as I get my business affairs in order, I'll be able to spend some quality time with you." "You said that a few days ago." Linda blushed a little and looked at him with a sorrow-filled expression.

"Believe me, soon, very soon, I'll be able to take over the company." Chris kissed her lightly on the lips and hurried out the door.

Linda took a deep breath, suppressing the irritation in her heart, and put on an even colder face.

In the evening, Chris again slept over at the office because he was working late. Linda couldn't take it anymore and drove to the bar to vent her frustration.

She was very angry and felt there was no hope.

Once at the bar, she drank several glasses of wine in a row.

The cold liquor slid down her throat and slightly soothed her irritation.

"Give me two more glasses!"

Linda shouted to the bartender.

Seeing that she had already had a few glasses, the waiter gently warned her, "Miss, this wine has a strong aftertaste, you may get drunk if you keep drinking." "Drunk?" Linda snorted, "I wouldn't want to get drunk. Cut the crap and give me the wine."

Now that she had said that, the waiter could say no more and poured her two more glasses.

Linda drank them all in one gulp.

It was because she had been drinking too fast and the wine had gone to her head, that she soon began to spin.

But she didn't care, she drank a few more glasses.

The scene in front of her became a blur of shadows as Linda got up from the highchair and staggered out the door.

She bumped into someone and was about to back away when they reached out and wrapped their arms around her.

Linda strained to keep her eyes wide open to get a good look at the person's face.

But it was too heavy to see clearly.

Instead, the other woman hissed coquettishly, "Me, a pretty girl after all."

"Let go of me!" Linda tried to break his grip.

But he hugged her tighter, "Pretty girl, you haven't even apologized for bumping into me, isn't that wrong?"

Linda sensed that the other party was not a good person, forgiving the fact that her body was a little weak because she was drunk, she still fought with all her might. "Let go of me!"

"Brother happens to be very lonely tonight, so you can keep him company." The other man stroked her face and said nasty things to her, "You're even prettier when you're angry, my brother likes you like that." As she struggled, the alcohol rose and Linda's head became even more dizzy and she couldn't get her strength up, so she let him take her in his arms and went into a nearby hotel.

"Let go of me!" she said breathlessly.

"Don't worry, brother will make you happy later." The man opened the door with a lecherous grin.

Just as he was about to drag Linda into the room, a rough female voice rang out.

"Let her go!"

A foreign woman was seen approaching rapidly accompanied by several tall foreign men.

The man frowned, "What do you want?"

"She's a friend of mine." The foreign woman approached him and looked at him coldly, "Let her go or don't blame me for being rude."

The man looked at the few tall men behind him and conceded, meekly handing Linda over, "I just saw she was drunk and wanted to take her upstairs to rest, nothing more."

The foreign woman grimaced, said nothing, ordered one of the men to pick Linda up and left.

Linda opened her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling and memories of the previous night came flooding back.

She couldn't help but be relieved to find her clothes intact.

"If you were afraid, why did you get so drunk?"

A female voice rang in her ears and Linda startled, turning her head to see that it was a foreign woman.

"Who are you?" Linda looked at her suspiciously.

"I'm the one who saved you. If it hadn't been for me last night, you'd probably be lying next to some man right now." The foreign woman got up and walked over to her, held out her hand and spoke decent Spanish, "Hola, soy Lisa." Linda took her hand in hers, "Thank you for saving me."

Lisa pulled her hand away and sat on the edge of the bed, "Are you Chris's wife?".

At the mention of Chris, Linda instantly turned a wary face again, "How do you know?".

"I'm Bergerian's ex-wife." Lisa bluntly stated her identity.

Linda's eyes widened in surprise.

Lisa raised an eyebrow, "Surprised?"

She then stood up and turned around, "Men are only out for profit, women are nothing more than a tool in their eyes, ready to be discarded at any moment."

Lisa turned her head sharply, "That's how they discarded me."

Linda clearly saw the resignation and hatred in his eyes.

Suddenly, she was overcome with a feeling of empathy for the same disease.

She smiled inwardly; how could she not be an outcast herself?

Now Chris didn't love her as much as he used to, and he was so preoccupied with his career that he had completely forgotten about love and affection.

Thinking about this, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, with a sad smile, "How can women be so pathetic?".

Lisa looked at her and in the depths of her eyes welled up an emotion that was hard to see.

She just wanted to take Linda back to her camp.

After all, they had a common enemy.

--Paulina!
