Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1527: What, Scared?

Carl also found out where Lisa was, and immediately informed Bergerian.

"Sir, Lisa is hiding in a villa area in E City."

"Are you sure?" Bergerian asked.

"Positive."

Bergerian's eyes narrowed and he stood up, "Go on, go meet her."

The news that Paulina was feeling better reached Lisa and she was so angry that she trashed everything she could.

The whole room was in disarray and the men stood beside Paulina trembling, not daring to say a word.

"Bitch! Bitch!" Lisa cursed with a grimace on her face.

She had expected Paulina to slowly die as the virus took hold, but instead she was getting better.

Lisa felt as if a puff of air was lodged in her chest, up and down, uncomfortably.

No, she had to find a way to get to Paulina.

As long as Paulina was around, she would not be happy.

Just then, one of her men came running up startled, "Ma'am, it's no good, Bergerian is here with someone!".

Hearing this, Lisa's face suddenly changed and she ran out.

As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Bergerian standing in the living room, his hands behind his back, his expression as cold as the frost on the crescent moon, making people feel a little afraid. "What do you want...?" Lisa suppressed the fear in her heart and asked angrily.

"Dad..."

Without a moment's hesitation, Bergerian raised his hand and slapped her hard on the cheek.

Lisa looked at Bergerian in disbelief, covering her cheek, which was burning with pain, and said between gritted teeth, "How dare you hit me?"

Bergerian pulled out his handkerchief and wiped his hands, his eyes lifted and his warm gaze rested on her slightly grim face, "You'll never know how much you weigh until you get hit." "Bergerian!" cried Lisa shrilly, lifting her chin and clenching her teeth in hatred, "You're here for Paulina, aren't you?"

There was no response.

Lisa burst out laughing, a sharp, harsh laugh, "Bergerian, you're so cruel! You cheated on me and then you beat me up for that bitch!"

"Lisa, if you go back to your country right now, I can pretend it never happened." Bergerian said.

"No way!" Lisa blurted out, "No way I'm ever listening to you again."

Bergerian narrowed his eyes, a grim look on his face, "Then you're toast!"

And he looked at Carl.

Carl understood and had his men move in to stop Lisa.

But Lisa didn't stay back and reacted quickly by stepping back, with his men holding her down.

There was a physical confrontation and the scene was chaotic for a while.

Soon Lisa's men were overpowered.

Bergerian took a step closer to Lisa.

Lisa backed away with a frightened look, but still shouted relentlessly, "Bergerian, either get me killed today or I will make Paulina taste worse than death!".

At that he laughed again, a riotous laugh, "Doesn't it hurt you that I nearly died this time? I tell you I'll make it grieve you even more."

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Bergerian pounced on her and put his hand on her neck, asking in a sinister tone, "Do you really think I wouldn't dare kill you?" His face was hostile, his grip on her neck slowly tightening as if he were treating an ant.

Lisa felt her breath catch and realized that Bergerian was actually trying to strangle her.

"Ber, Bergerian..."

The woman looked horrified and kept trying to break his hand, but there was a disparity of strength between the man and the woman and it was impossible to do so. Bergerian's hands were still the same, and a cold smile of utmost contempt played on his lips, "What, are you afraid?"

With those words, and without waiting for an answer, Bergerian let go of her neck in disgust.

She dropped to the floor, hands covering her neck and gasped, her heart filled with fear.

Bergerian knelt down and lifted her chin, forcing her to look up at him with a cold warning in his voice, "This is just a warning, the next time you lay a hand on her, I won't mind if you do what Juanetta did. You should know very well that I always do what I say."

Lisa stared at him, not uttering a sound.

Bergerian withdrew his hand, pulled out the handkerchief and wiped it off in disgust, then threw it away.

He got up and walked away.

Lisa remained sitting where she was, shaking uncontrollably.

It was horrible.

Even after years of being married to Bergerian, she had never seen this side of him.

Right now, he had really tried to strangle her!

She felt the murderous aura coming from him.

"Ma'am, are you all right?" The men came over and helped her up.

Lisa rubbed her sore neck, her face grim and terrified.

Paulina!

It was all Paulina's fault!

...

"Achoo!"

Paulina sneezed.

Marcos frowned and hurriedly grabbed a jacket from the side and slung it over his shoulders.

"It's just that I suddenly got an itchy nose, you don't have to be nervous." Paulina looked at him helplessly.

Since his accident, it seemed that all of Marcos' nerves were on edge, fearing that something was wrong with him.

Paulina was heartbroken and guilty.

"It's getting cooler these days, put on more." said Marcos.

Paulina gave a soft "hmm", "Don't worry, I'll take care of myself."

The virus had been contained and her body was recovering day by day, and after tests by the doctors and Almeida, all agreed that she could go home to recover. When she found out, Paulina was overjoyed, happy as a child.

She could finally go home.

The family was also completely relieved and waited at the door first thing on the day she was to be discharged.

When she saw her get out of the car, Mrs. Gloria couldn't help but shed a tear.

"Mom." Seeing her cry made Paulina's heart sink. "I'm sorry I made you worry again."

Ms. Gloria took her hand in hers and shook her head, "What are you talking about? We're all glad you got home safely."

"Since you're glad, you should stop crying, okay?" Paulina raised a hand to wipe away her tears and tried to sketch a smile.

"Okay. I'm not going to cry." Mrs. Gloria wiped away her tears, "Come on in, it's windy."

The family went inside and Mrs. Gloria ordered the housekeeper to bring the chicken soup she had been preparing all morning. "Now stay home and I'll give you a nice tonic." Mrs. Gloria said as she patted Paulina's hand.

"But..." Paulina turned her head to look at Marcos.

Marcos read her mind and said in a deep voice, "Don't go to the company, stay home and recover."

His tone was unmistakable.

"Okay." Paulina agreed.

She didn't dare to insist, she had worried the family enough these days because of herself, she didn't want to add to the mess.

Besides, the virus was so strong that it seemed to have been suppressed for the moment, but who knew when it would strike again. It was better for her to stay home and take care of her health.

"Sister-in-law, it's strange that you're so obedient." Alvaro couldn't help but scoff.

Paulina laughed softly, "Of course I have to be obedient when you're so good to me."
