Chapter 1526: The Answer is Screaming
Mark thought it was a little strange, yesterday he was dizzy, how come today he was suddenly much better?
Could it be that this was a sign before the virus definitely took hold?
The more he thought about it, the more alarmed he became and rushed to contact Almeida and Sener, asking them to go to the hospital.
Seeing Marcos' ugly face, Paulina smiled and said comfortingly, "Marcos, don't get carried away by euphoria, I really feel fine."
Whatever the reason, she suddenly felt better.
Everything was good.
"Wait until Almeida and the others come to check you over to make sure you're really okay." Marcos held her hand tightly, as if afraid she might disappear. Soon Almeida and Sener arrived.
They were both surprised to see Paulina looking very refreshed, "Paulina, how are you ...?"
"Have Paulina checked immediately." Marcos ordered in a deep voice.
Almeida and Sener didn't dare to slow down at all and hurried to make preparations.
"I'll wait outside." Marcos said to Paulina in a warm voice and turned to leave.
Looking at the busy Almeida, Sener, Paulina was apprehensive.
She hoped her health was really improving and it wasn't some sort of flashback or something.
Marcos, waiting outside the room, was just as uneasy, standing in the doorway, eyes fixed on the closed door.
The hands that fell to his side were clenched into fists, white-knuckled.
After about twenty minutes, the door opened.
Almeida stepped out.
"Well?" asked Marcos eagerly, in a change from his usual stoicism.
Almeida frowned, looking incredulous, "The virus in Paulina's body is suppressed."
Hearing that, Marcos' heart went back in place and, with a long sigh of relief, he hurried into the room.
Almeida hurried after him.
Sener was taking Paulina's blood pressure and, seeing them enter, asked in a puzzled tone, "Prince, did you give Paulina some kind of medicine? And the medicine is clearly more effective than what Almeida and I developed." Paulina looked at Marcos with equal bewilderment.
He had been with her and was the only one who knew best what was going on.
"I don't." Marcos frowned as he suddenly remembered the nurse who had come to see Paulina the night before and given her an injection. Could it have been her?
If she was really trying to save Paulina, why was she sneaking around?
Who had told that nurse to give Paulina the injection?
Her face changed for a moment and Paulina couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Marcos, what are you thinking?". Marcos looked at her and pondered for a moment before speaking, "The nurse gave you an injection last night." "What?" exclaimed Almeida and Sener at the same time.
"How could a nurse have such a good drug, someone must have given it to her." Sener hit the nail on the head. Almeida thought for a moment, "If we find that nurse, we can ask who gave her the medicine."
Marcos called Alfredo and told him to immediately investigate the nurse who checked the room the night before. "Who the hell was trying to save me?" Paulina was puzzled.
Who else in the world would want to save her, other than Marcos, and her family?
"You'll soon have the answer." Marcos took her hand in his.
In fact, he had the answer vaguely in his mind, he just wasn't sure.
Everyone was surprised when Alfredo told Marcos his findings.
-The nurse from the night before did not exist.
Alfredo analyzed, "It must have been someone from the outside who got confused."
Marcos frowned: "Have you figured out who it was?".
Alfredo shook his head: "No. He disappeared as soon as he left the hospital".
At that moment, an answer popped into Marcos' mind.
He frowned and his thin lips pressed into a straight line.
"Who the hell is he? So mysterious." muttered Sener.
Suddenly, something occurred to him and he looked unconsciously at Alfredo and Almeida.
Only to see Alfredo and Almeida's eyes averted and saying nothing.
Sener looked again at Marcos, who had a cold face, and slowly lowered his head.
Indeed, the answer had been asked for, and everyone had already guessed who it was.
There was a deathly silence in the room.
No one dared to speak.
After all, this was the man who had made Paulina suffer so much.
Suddenly he was so kind, and I didn't know what was on his mind.
Paulina squeezed the corner of the blanket tightly, her heart fluttering for a long time. Because she had guessed it too.
Bergerian was the one who had developed the virus, and he must know a lot about it. And he was working on a drug to combat it at the time.
It couldn't really be him, could it?
Mark looked at Paulina and knew from the look in her eyes that she had guessed it too.
Her face was sullen, her eyes dark as ink, and no one could tell what was going through her mind.
Only after a long moment did Marcos speak slowly, "Almeida, is there any way to detect the drugs the other side used?"
"It might be a little difficult. But it can be tried." Almeida looked at Paulina, "It's just going to be difficult for Paulina, we'll need to draw some blood." Paulina smiled weakly, "It's okay, I'm better now, you can draw as much as your door wants."
"Paulina, I know you're generous, but we only need a little." teased Sener with a smile, trying to lighten the depressing mood.
Almeida and Sener drew blood and left.
Paulina, though much recovered, still tired easily and it didn't take long for her to fall asleep.
Marcos tucked her in before leaving the room.
Alfredo was waiting outside, and when she saw him come out, she immediately greeted him. "Prince."
Marcos' eyes narrowed, "Send someone to protect Paulina in the shadows, no one is allowed near the room except the family." "Yes." Alfredo bowed his head respectfully.
He hesitated next and spoke carefully, "Prince, if it really is Bergerian, we need to be more careful, who knows what he's up to." Marcos looked at him out of the corner of his eye and made no sound.
Alfredo said, "And he has already met with Paulina."
At the mention of that, Marcos thought of Bergerian getting Paulina to divorce him, and an instant bite rose up around him. "Heh." Marcos snorted coldly, "He's just dreaming."
"Prince, don't worry, I'll send someone to keep an eye on Bergerian. If he makes any moves, I'll inform you immediately." Alfred assured him. "Hmm."
Marcos turned and pushed open the door, striding into the room.
Alfredo watched the door close before exiting.
Meanwhile, Bergerian cracked a rare smile knowing that Paulina was doing better.
For once, he had saved her rather than harmed her.
