"Elijah!" Nisha screams, going to his side he looked uneasy.

Underneath his lashes, he was battling.

I look around the room searching for a note. Maybe he's no 4 but there's nothing just Elijah in his room.

"He's alive," Nisha says hopefully.

Rubbing his hands together with hers.

Elijah coughs out, fluttering his eyes weakly as he awakens.

"Eli my

love you scared me," Nisha says hugging him.

Feeling she'll love to spend time alone with him, I walk out meeting Ride who's leaning outside.

"You okay?" I ask, watching him keenly.

He tilts his head a bit towards me, taking his lip piercing in between his teeth.

"I'm alright I'm tired of hanging in here maybe I'll take a ride around the block to take the edge off you feel me?" "Drop me at the hospital" I request understanding his plight.

He nods and walks up to me he tugs my hair.

"Your dye is fading" he whispers walking past me, we drive back to the hospital.

"You'll come back," I ask Ride as he drops me at the entrance of the hospital.

"It's a dangerous world out there, Angel.

I hope he'll be safe.

He's taking it the rough way and Ride is not someone who shows emotion; it doesn't mean he is void of any.

With a sigh, I walk into the hospital speaking with a doctor to check up and give feedback on his condition.

This time as I go to the ward they move aside letting me walk in with ease.

He takes his stethoscope and places it on Jaden's chest, checking his eyelids and his pulse.

"Miss everything seems normal, he is safe but may be exhausted to come back conscious. In a little time he will be fine," He says gently.

But that's the problem, we don't have time.

"Thank you," I say, giving a sly smile.

"Just doing my job" He nods as he leaves the room.

Who knows how much time Jaden has left before Carter ascends the throne?

A syringe by the bedside table grabbed my attention.

I walk up taking it in my hand, roll my sleeve up, dig the syringe in my hand, it doesn't hurt till I draw blood from my body. I bite my lip forcefully squinting my eyes through the pain. Feeling it's more than enough I take it and pierce it into Jaden fingers crossed it would work.

He judders, twitching actively.

"Jaden, "I say, wrapping my hand carefully around him.

"Hailey" he says weakly.

"Yes, baby I'm right here" I pull back a little for him to look at me.

"Oh my I'm so happy you are alright Aitch didn't try anything did he?" He tenses underneath me going into a fit of cough.

No, he didn't Jaden. We have a problem.

He looks at me attentively as I tell him about the events.

He doesn't bother to change as he tells the guard to make preparations to go back to the pack house.

Jaden talked with his father, keeping me anticipating.

The arena was filled with pack members to witness the fight.

"You don't have to do this," I say, holding his face.

He smiles at me sadly.

With one last kiss, he pulls away walking into the arena.

I take a great upfront view of the battle.

My stomach knots as I watch Carter smirk at Jaden. There should be a rule about that.

Lord Perry is standing by the side looking like he has always done but I am eyeing over as he states as Jaden in his weak state.

"Today a battle between the Alpha Jaden Perry and his challenger Carter Morale are going in combat to give us a befitting leader of the pack " Rustave announces in a way I feel he is happy Jaden has to battle for his position. "Underneath the moon, the goddess is watching this fight with her blessings, this battle begins in 3, 2, 1 fight!"

Carter dives, making the first move trying to punch Jaden in the jaw but he moves swiftly stepping on his knee and making Carter stumble forward.

Without wasting time he hits simultaneously with a double array contriving his arms and making Carter defend.

The crowd cheered wildly at the effort but I could feel his heart slow underneath. He was in no way stable for this fight and Carter doesn't look fazed by his attack.

Prepping back to catch a breath Carter takes advantage, maintaining a good stance as he punches Jaden vigorously pushing him back to the arena walls and barricading him from moving; he continues his assault hitting Jaden a few times and opting back. Jaden's face turns purple with a black eye, bruised and battered he slumps to the ground on both knees panting heavily.

With a swift turn, Carter kicks Jaden with his foot hard and hits the ground face-first.

With a satisfied smirk, he walks away from Jaden and stares directly at me like he knew where I was sitting.

I stare at him with pleading eyes after the brief eye contact, he steps back to Jaden picking off the ground and spinning him to the ground with a chokeslam.

Jasen tries to get up but Carter uses his feet and steps on Jaden's head crushing him to the ground.

"Stop!!!" I hear my lungs scream cutting through the arena.

I couldn't take it anymore weak in the knees. I step away from my seat crawling on my knees and I look up at Carter pleading silently.

He smiles wickedly picking Jaden from his head like he weighed nothing.

"You agree to my condition. I spare his life" Carter says.

"Please don't do this," I begged.

"Don't test my patient Hailey?" he says, tightening his grip.

"I agree," I say in defeat.

"I did not hear you"

"I agree to be your luna"

"Music to my ears," he says laughing, tossing Jaden to the side.

Someone call an ambulance!" I shout.

"Anything that happens to Jaden Perry is none of your concern you're mine now" Carter picks me by my arm pulling me up.

"Please if I know he alright-

"Nothing Hailey you're mine quit this drama"

"And your new Luna Hailey," Carter says.

The room is dead silent, and no one cheers in response.

I look up to find Lord Perry, he isn't in the arena.

Carter draws me by the arm pulling me through the arena and to his newly occupied room.

"What was that about?" He screams, dropping to the ground.

I cower shivering as tears pool out of my eyes.

"You see this face," Carter says, holding my cheekbones and forcing me to look into his brown eyes.

"You are to live and worship this face" Forcing me he kisses me full on the lips making me gag and look away.

"I want the preparations fast I can't wait for you to be my luna"

He says leaving the room.

"Jaden," I say Via mind link.

"Jaden" There's no response, only silence.
