Invincible Heir

Chapter 188 The Stupidest

Too long had Patti stood against Tracy. Barron could bear it no longer. Tracy and Lara were the most important people in his life. He couldn't see any harm come to them, and he would do anything to protect them.

For a moment, Patti was struck dumb by the smack in the face. But soon she stared at Baron and shouted, "You bastard! How dare you!"

Tracy was terribly touched by what Baron did for her, but she looked worried, she thought it was not necessary to escalate the conflict.

Baron knew how she thought, so he had decided not to pick a fight with Patti and Dane. He pulled a bankcard from his pocket and gave it to the store manager. "I'll take the trench coat!" he said calmly. Tracy blushed a little. She had planned to bought the trench coat for Baron as a gift, but she couldn't afford it. She was the General Manager of Samho for a short time and didn't have much money, The manager was astounded beyond words while he saw Baron's black-and-gold card. He knew the black-and-gold card was a status symbol for the richest and the most powerful class. Instantly the manager had so much respect for Baron. "Sir, I'll give you a membership card, for you are our distinguished guest. Then you can have a 10% discount," he said courteously. With these words, he handed Baron a golden card.

"Thank you!" Baron said and took it.

"Oh, please. Don't act like you could afford it!" Dane looked at Baron and sneered. Apparently, he knew nothing about the black-and-gold card.

"I know your tricks, Baron! You don't have enough money for the trench coat, right? But you will always find an excuse not to buy it, so that you can keep up appearances. Am I right?" He continued and his eyes were blazing.

Baron embarrassed him and slapped his fiancée in public, which ignited his flames of anger. But to his disappointment, no one paid very much attention to him.

At that moment, a shop assistant handed Baron the trench coat and said, "It's your coat now. Here you are, Mr. Owen. It fits you very well. Your wife is actually beautiful and has elegant taste in clothing." Dane was completely floored to hear that. "It couldn't be true!" he roared. "He is nothing but a son-in-law of a very small family! How can he afford the trench coat? It's extremely costly!" Then he pointed to the store manager and continued, "Oh, I know. You were in collusion, right? You two are ganging up on me! I nailed it, didn't I?"

Several people watching laughed. Dane looked down on Baron so much that not even the truth could change his mind.

The store manager's face was dark with anger. "Admit it. You're jealous. You know what? You are the stupidest person I have ever met. Now, get out of here, you!" he snapped. Dane was irked by the words. "Do you know who you're talking to?" he snarled. "I am a manager at the Brown Group! Believe it or not, I can very easily close down your store!"

Baron was perfectly calm and cool to hear that. He didn't believe a word of it. Dane was very vain, so, there was a high probability that he fabricated his position.

And it did not matter even if what Dane said was true. The Brown Group was run by the Brown family, which was really controlled by Baron. One phone call and Dane would lose everything.

But unlike Baron, the store manager's face turned white at the words, because if what Dane said was true, He would be in very big trouble.

"Hey. Are you scared? You regret it, right?" Dane said triumphantly, looking at the store manager.

For a moment, the manager was speechless with fear. When Dane saw his tense face, he was so arrogant. He turned to Baron and said, "You bastard! You're dead unless you kneel down to apologize right now!"

"What if I say no?" Baron said coldly.

Dane snorted with laughter and said, "My God, man! Don't you know the Brown Group is run by the Brown family? And you are a son-in-law of the Perry family! You could not afford to offend them!" Baron said nothing and a smile began to snake across his face. He pulled out his phone to dial a number. "Kris, I would like to know if there is a manager named Dane in your Brown Group?" he asked.

"I am not sure, Mr. Owen. Give me five minutes to it," Kris said on the other end of the phone.

"OK! Call me," Baron said.

Kris hesitated a moment and asked, "What's going on, Mr. Owen? Is he upsetting you?"

"Oh. No big deal. He said he is supported by the Brown family, and asked me to kneel down and apologize to him."

"Son of a bitch!" Kris said furiously. "Mr. Owen! I will deal with it very seriously. If he is the manager of the Brown Group, I will fire him and everybody connected with him straight away."

"That's good!" Baron said. Then he hung up.

Dane looked at Baron and smiled mockingly. "Ha, ha, ha. I laughed my ass off. You just called Kris, the head of the Brown family? Ha, ha! You think I'm a fool? You know what? I don't believe a word of it." He laughed so hard that tears ran down his face and his stomach hurt.

Many people gathered around and showed no interest in leaving. They wanted to see what would happen next.

Everyone was standing there without a word, including the store manager. He surveyed Baron carefully. In his view, the black-and-gold card was enough to prove Baron's noble status.

After Patti heard Dane, she couldn't help laughing too. "It's hilarious, Tracy! Never thought your husband is such an idiot!" she sneered.

Tracy looked at her coolly, without a word. She trusted Baron.

"Hey, don't waste our time, man. Kneel down and apologize to Patti right now! Or the Brown family will let your Perry family no longer exist!" said Dane, still laughing.

"You bastard! How dare you threaten Mr. Owen in the name of the Brown family!" A voice came suddenly from his behind.

Dane wouldn't even turn his head. That familiar voice scared him out of his wits. He just stood there, frozen with fear.
