His Soul & His Shame

"Is that really Ezra in our apartment?" Joanna still has a shocked face since she opened the door and saw Ezra and Alex with me.

"Yes, Joanna! He is really our Ezra." I went back to making coffee after answering her.

"Our Ezra? When did he become our Ezra! You were lecturing me and saying something about toxic cycle and all!" I know, i did say all those things but when it comes to Ezra i forget everything but it doesn't mean i'm going to let him control me again, this time it will be me who leads everything.

"I want to give him another chance and this time it will be on my terms." I poured coffee in the mugs and turned around to go back to the living room before they punched each other's faces.

"I hope you don't get hurt again, Fay!" I know her concern is probably that I am going to get hurt again but I just don't want to give up on Ezra this early because we were each others Worlds since we were kids and I don't want to give up on all those memories, smile and tears.

"Here you go!" They all took their cups and Ezra pulled me towards him and made me sit beside him with his big palm on my thigh.

"So, how is everyone back home?" I asked Alex, wanting to shoo away the awkward atmosphere. I Facetime with my parents everyday but I still miss them as I never got the time to spend with them when last time I was home. "Everyone is good and Ah! I Am hosting a party this Sunday and I would really love it if you come." I looked at Ezra to see his expression but he has a neutral face and Joanna's expression matches with his. They seriously look like siblings right now with their expressions and stance.

"I would love to come, what about you guys!" I asked them both who looked at Alex and answers at the same time making me burst out laughing.

"If you are going then i am going."

"What's funny?" Joanna asked, her brows pulled down in confusion.

"Nothing, you guys just look like long lost siblings." They both Rolled their eyes at the same time and this time Alex joined me in the laugh.

Alex hangout with us for sometime and he left telling us the address of the place he is staying with his friends and where the party is being held.

I was in the kitchen cleaning up after we had dinner which we ordered. Ezra sat on the stool just watching me clean up.

"Thanks to Alex for interrupting us." He said randomly, making me stunned there for a second.

"What are you talking about?"I asked, turning around to look at him.

Our eyes met and I can see his sincerity and longing in them for me and the first time my heart felt content and full as he never looked at me like this and he never reciprocated what I felt.

"I had never been in a relationship and I never believed in love. Honestly saying I don't know what exactly love is but with you it feels different and I don't have to wear my mask in front of you." I know what he is saying, growing up he never felt love and warmth from his parents nor from anyone.

He hated anything related to love and Affection.

It took so much time for me to even touch his hand and hug him. He never told me why he hated skinship and I never saw him letting any girl be overly touchy with him.

"I know everything Ezra." I moved towards him and he pulled me between his legs and my arms snaked around his thick neck.

"So, Babygirl, let me take you on a Date first before we do anything. Let me court you." Tears brimmed in my eyes at his words. I never thought I would hear these words from him nor will I ever see this day.

"I would love that, Ezra! I would love to go on a date with you and I would love to do everything with you." We both moved towards each other, taking each other's lips and moving them together and this time slowly knowing each other's tastes.

I can feel it in my heart that from now everything will be different and positive and I hope it stays that way.

"So, what about Alex's party?" I asked, anxiously waiting for his answer. I know he is trying and has changed much from before but still it takes time for everything.

"As we told Alex that we are coming then we are going. This time we will be as transparent as we can get, Babygirl." I nodded my head at him with a big grin and he took my lips once again making us forget everything around us. Ezra left after we made out in the kitchen like teenagers and got caught by Joanna who shrieked like a hen and ran away covering her eyes.

"Ezra Asked you out?" Joanna is still in disbelief that he had asked me out but at the same time she has this knowing smile that she knew he would eventually ask me out.

"Yes, Joanna and he didn't tell me when we are going on a date but I'll wait for that day." I stood up from the couch and went to my room to get some sleep and I know I am not going to get any sleep with the events of today. The ringing of my phone pulled me out of my thoughts. I retrieved the phone from the nightstand to see Ezra's number flashing on the screen making me blush like a teenager.

"Don't tell me you are blushing!" His deep voice reached my ears the second I answered the call. He knows how to tease me.

"Who told you I'm blushing! I was sleeping and you disturbed me." I won't believe my words as he knows me so well.

Okay if you say so Babygirl." We started talking and i don't know when my eyes got closed on their Accord but I slept peacefully hearing his voice and feeling him beside me and i want this feeling for the rest of my life.
