Chapter 40: A treasure trove.

After storing the scroll in his spatial ring, Shadow pulled out another item from his spatial ring. It was tiny, black, and slightly round, releasing a speck of blue pulsing light every second.

Whittaker leans forward to gaze at it. Gazing at it, he found out what it does, it was a mini tracking device.

[Mana Pulser MTD #654999 (Auto Rechargeable)

Effect: Shoots out pulses of mana to the connected receiver code number #654999. Can be used to landmark a location with treasure and track down the location of an enemy, or a friend.]

Whittaker asked curious about why he pulled it out, without stating its name, as he is supposed to not know anything about the world, "What are you doing?"

Instead of answering his question, Shadow posed a question of his own to Whittaker,

"Where do you think the snow wolves got so many moonstones from?"

"Where indeed!" Whittaker's head tilted as he thought while resting his hand on the chin. His eyes widened as a thought flashed by his eyes. "Undoubtedly, there must be a place with a lot of Moonstone in the Silver Moon Forest!"

Shadow smiled while thinking that his roommate was the best teammate he got so far–far better than the previous five pig teammates. Giving him a thumbs up, he said, "Yes, you are right on the point! The moonstones we found, there has to be a lot of it nearby this location. According to my knowledge, moonstone can only be created in enclosed places with a lot of moonlight, such as caves with an open hole at the top... what I am trying to say is there might be a small or medium size Moonstones mine! But that place is probably covered by snow, so we won't be able to locate it until winter finishes. That's why I am placing this thing here as a location marker. When summer starts and the snow melts away, we would be able to locate the Moonstone mine for sure, and that will become a huge source of money for us."

In the awakened continent, the density of mana can be different from place to place. Locations with strong mana can have unusual climates, such as the Dark-north continent, which is known to have radically distorted and hazardous environments and is thus very difficult to survive in safely. Similarly, Silver Moon Forest has a six-month-long winter cycle. The Silver Moon Forest is located in the northern region of the Water kingdom. During winter, it snows a lot, at least twice a month in Silver Moon Forest. The snow gathers up and blocks a lot from view, including but not limited to places with treasures. So, they will have to wait for the summer to arrive and the snow to melt to find out the treasure trove.

Whittaker was staring at the pictures of Moonstone flashing by his mind while muttering, "Huge source of income!"

"Even a small Moonstone mine can bring about a profit of 10000-100000 Platinum, a medium would be around 100000-1000000!" Shadow further explains while placing the Mana Pulser deep in the snow burrow that he had created while talking with Whittaker.

Three imaginary stars revolved around Whittaker's head, as he stood stunned. He thought, 'Will I become a millionaire soon? I should change my name to platinum man.'

Shadow was done with placing the Mana Pulser. He stood up, patted his butt, and turned to get out of the forest with Whittaker.

They got out of the forest without any trouble as they have used the magical beast repellent powder. Outside, the guards still stood on guard.contemporary romance

Normally, a person will be forced to undergo inspection at the defense line. They will have to give away 30% of their earnings to the guards that work under the nobles of the nearby city, but the same didn't go for students of the Royal Frost Fall Academy.

They were privileged and didn't need to undergo an inspection, hence Whittaker and Shadow swagged their way out of the Silver Moon Forest with all their treasures.

It was snowing and using the Arc while it's snowing is usually the most dumbest and painful way to commit suicide. The Arc has a certain chance to malfunction under certain unfavorable conditions. Furthermore, taking flight will increase the coldness they have been feeling, so they decided against using the Arc. Instead, the boys decided to get a laid back land ride back home.

Nearby, in the market area, there were many carriages with drivers waiting on the toe. They reached that place.

As they went up to the carriages, drivers for the sides came to ask where they want to go. Some declined after they found out that they want to go back to Swadehash City, while some wanted to haggle over the price.

Ignoring them all, Shadow walked ahead and said to one of them to drive them back to the City.

No doubt the driver happily accepted this job after he saw the uniforms they were wearing. It seems like the Royal Frost Fall Academy held a certain amount of power in its grasp, and Whittaker certainly understood it.

The driver didn't even ask for payment or haggled over the amount. From his smile and the hands that rubbed together, it seems like he was even willing to give them a free ride back home.

To Whittaker, it seems like Shadow can somehow determine a person's nature? or was it the spirits helping him?

Thinking that he entered the carriage along with Shadow.
