Chapter Chapter Six
Third person's POV
Asher moved quickly towards his sister. He wasn't going to let her get away this time. Tyler was quick to follow his elder brother not wanting to lose sight of his sister again. He had already lost too much time. Diesel was slower to follow, he didn't want to hear the hatred in Macey's voice again like he had heard earlier. He had focused on that solely for the few hours they had waited to see Macey again.
Macey was glancing around to try to work out who had eyes on her before spotting her brothers right in front of her. All three of her brothers were there and she checked around to see if the man known as her father was there too. She had no desire to see any of them at all. She stopped walking and stood checking if other people could see them all. She didn't trust that one of them wouldn't take a swing at her and she would need witnesses for the police. Macey knew where the security cameras were and made sure to angle herself so if something happened it was caught on camera.
Asher stopped in front of his sister. He had a small smile on his face seeing she had stopped walking as though she had agreed to talk to them. He didn't know she was checking for witnesses or notice she was in the vision line of the security cameras around. Asher had no intention of hurting his sister. He just wanted to talk to Macey.
"Macey" Asher whispered out. Macey snapped her head up towards Asher glaring at him with so much hatred in her eyes. Asher couldn't help but take a step back, he knew she would be angry but he never expected the hatred to be so visible. Asher sucked in a breath before saying "Macey we need to talk". Macey shook her head no "Over my dead body" she spat. By this stage Tyler was standing beside Asher and Diesel was just slightly behind them. "Please Macey" Tyler whispered. "I have work. Stay the fuck away from me. That means all of you," Macey said before walking around her brothers and continuing to make her way to the front of the dorms.
"Macey's dad is dying. He wants to see you" Asher called out turning towards his sister. He needed her to stop and if that meant calling out to her about their father he would do it. He just needed an opening. Macey swung around, "good. And as I told you on the phone. I will happily dance on his grave when it happens. You wasted your time coming here because I don't give a shit what happens to him or any of you for that matter. Go home and leave me the fuck alone" Macey seethed. She didn't care Peter was dying at all. "You don't mean that" Diesel stated. "Actually I mean every last word of it" Macey replied and turned back around ready to leave the people who were once family in her past. "I'm not leaving until we have spoken Macey" Asher called out as she walked through the door to the dorm building.
Macey headed up to her room. She was breathing hard. She didn't want to see them again at all and once again they had to ruin everything. She was happy here and they shouldn't have been able to find her. She thought seeing Diesel was a coincidence, well she convinced herself it was. But now they were all here she knew it wasn't and she wasn't ready to deal with them all. She didn't care her father was dying at all, she never wanted any of them in her life again especially when they turned up unannounced.
Asher watched his sister disappear into the dorms. He wanted nothing more than to go after her but he wasn't allowed. He wasn't moving from the front door until he got to speak to his sister. He expected Macey to be angry with them but he didn't expect the hatred in her eyes. He had never seen her eyes look so cold towards anyone before and that scared him. How much had they damaged their sister with what they had done?
Tyler stood beside Asher "The look in her eyes, Ash" he began. "I know. I fucken know Tyler. Don't say it. I need to try, we need to at least try. I need to tell her how sorry I am for what I did" Asher stated tearing up in the process. He had waited five years to see his sister again and now he had he couldn't let her go. He had promised himself that if Macey wanted nothing to do with him and his brothers, he would respect it but he couldn't do it. He couldn't walk away from his sister again when he had so much to make up for.
Tyler and Diesel were quiet. They were both lost in their own thoughts about it. They knew they had hurt their sister badly but didn't realise the extent of the hatred she had for them all. "Maybe we should leave her. She was happy without us" Diesel told his brothers. He saw how carefree Macey had been this morning and she no longer looked that way now. He had taken so much from his sister already, he didn't want to cause her more pain than he already had.
Asher shook his head no, he knew he was being selfish but he couldn't walk away at all. He had made a promise to his mother years ago to always protect his sister and he failed once. He wouldn't fail again, not now. He also needed to make things right for what he had done. Asher couldn't do that if he walked away from his sister now.
Tyler was quietly watching both his brothers and could see that one wanted to walk away for good while the other was determined to be in Macey's life. He felt guilty for what he had done to Macey but he also felt guilty for tracking her down. If he never found Macey, Asher wouldn't be beating himself up right now and Diesel wouldn't be so defeated. "Asher, it's not just your fault, you know that," Tyler told his eldest brother. "It is. I'm the oldest. I should have got her out the minute I turned 18. I knew better, I knew what was happening in that house was wrong. I didn't protect her Tyler" Asher ranted out watching the stairs where Macey had disappeared up. "I'm not leaving here without speaking to her properly. You guys can leave but I am staying. I need to speak to Macey" Asher told his brothers. He was determined to speak to Macey no matter what.
