Forgive us

As the night wore on each brother tried to get Macey to engage with them but she kept it professional serving them drinks and nothing more. Johan kept an eye on them because they never went to any other person working the bar, they only wanted to be served by Macey.

Towards the end of her shift, Macey snapped at Asher. "Listen you turn up to my home and then my work wanting me to fall into your arms after everything you all did. It won't happen. Back off and give me space or stay the fuck away from me" Macey bit out. "There might not be time Macey. Dad is dying, don't you want answers before it is too late?" Asher asked his sister before walking away.

Macey finished her shift at 3 am and couldn't get Asher and Cherry's words out of her head about answers. She knew she needed to clear her head so she decided to walk home to the dorms. She had done it several times before and had always felt safe.

Asher, Tyler and Diesel stayed at the bar hoping Macey would come and speak to them when she finished her shift but she didn't, she didn't even notice them and walked out the doors. They immediately got up and followed her out. Diesel knew she had no lift home so they assumed so would get a cab but spotted her walking towards the uni. "She is going to walk? At this time of night? Does she have a death wish?" Diesel asked his brothers. "I'll follow her, go get the car and catch up to me," Asher told his brothers handing over the keys.

Asher wanted to keep his sister safe. He had failed to keep her safe in her own home but that didn't mean he would let her be reckless and walk home in the middle of the night by herself. Asher wanted to catch up with his sister so he quickly walked the way she had gone. Just as he got close to Macey he saw the security guard from the bar put his arm over Macey's shoulder.

Macey stiffened feeling the arm over her shoulder, "hey babe you should have waited for me to walk with you" Johan said loudly to Macey while looking around the area. Johan had seen the guys who had been annoying Macey all night going after her when she left the bar after her shift. Johan leaned into Macey and whispered, "The guys from the bar are following you, go with it". Macey nodded her head and smiled up at Johan who was taller than her. "Sorry just needed some air" Macey replied. Macey stopped walking and waited for her brothers to catch up to her. She knew she would need to say something so they didn't keep interfering with her life anymore.

Asher caught up to Macey just as Tyler and Diesel pulled up in the car. "I'll take her home" Asher said firmly towards Johan who raised his eyebrow at the guy. There was no way he would allow Macey out of his sight with these three guys seeming to be obsessed with Macey. Johan went to say something but was stopped when Macey placed her hand on his chest.

"Listen hear Asher, you said what you wanted but you don't get it. I need time to process everything and it's my choice whether I see that man or not. I don't care if he is dying, he hasn't been anything to me since my mother died. If I chose to see him it would be on my terms not his. You being in my face isn't going to make me agree to anything. Don't you think you all owe me the chance to make my own decisions? If I want to see that man, I will do it on my terms and my terms alone. I now have your number and if I decide I want answers I will get in contact with you. Stop following me and showing up at my work and my home. Unlike you, I have bills to pay and Daddy isn't supporting me" Macey fumed out. She needed space to work out what she wanted, she didn't need her so-called brothers following her and causing problems.

Asher looked at Macey and saw the conflict in her eyes. He nodded his head at his sister. "Ok, I'm sorry Mace. I'm not sorry for trying to talk to you. You're my sister, but I will respect your wishes. Don't leave it too long though because he doesn't have a lot of time" Asher said stepping closer to Macey wanting to comfort her. He was saying sorry for pushing her but he knew he needed this just as much as she did.

Macey stepped back and knocked into Johan's chest. He immediately put his arms around Macey in comfort and as a warning to Asher not to touch Macey. He saw the look in her eyes and the pain when Macey spoke. He knew something had gone down with this guy and that it had hurt Macey. He wouldn't allow this guy to hurt her again. "Just leave Asher, please? you and your brothers owe me that much" Macey whispered out. She was tired of them being in her head and wanted space again.

"I'll go for now, but Macey even if you don't see Dad, I will be back. I need you to know how sorry I am. How sorry we are. I'll give you a week and I'll be back. I love you Macey" Asher said before heading towards his car.

Macey shook her head. He had to be joking with what he said. "Umm thanks for that Johan, I'll be going now" Macey said looking up at Johan. "Are you ok?" Johan asked. Macey shrugged her shoulders. "That was a lot to take but the walk home will help clear my head" Macey replied.

"Thanks again and I'll see you tomorrow night" Macey said before trying to walk away. "Yeh not happening, I'll give you a lift. I have no idea what the hell that was but I'm not letting you walk home this time of night" Johan stated. "I used to sleep out here, walking home is safer than some homes" Macey replied before sidestepping Johan and heading towards the uni.
