Finding Emery

Emery was exhausted and ended up falling asleep in the car on the way to bowling. Uncle Mike tried to wake her up but she just whined and turned away from him snuggling back into the car and going back to sleep. No one had the heart to wake her up. Uncle Mike called Bass to make sure it was normal and he assured him that her body was getting use to eating and being active.

Everyone stayed in the living room with Emery while she slept wanting to spend time with her when she woke up. They had all taken the time off work. Uncle Mike did some paper work while Emery was placed on his lap. The guards were curious why the entire family was in the room and Kody was with them. Emery was covered with a blanket so couldn't be seen.

Jasper was working on tracking the fourth red snake member that some how infiltrated the Quake's. He had Chase hack all phones monitoring phone calls and messages for anything suspicious. Most members lived on the property unless they had families and then they lived close. Any phone that came onto premises the signal was checked same with any phones that were near their warehouses. This is how they were good at what they did, most dealings with other gangs were done where the Quake's were in control and very little surprises could happen as they had signal blockers and scramblers.

When Emery began to wake all the boys including Kody were smiling at how cute she was. She looked like a kitten stretching and trying to get the sleep out of her eyes. When she noticed everyone watching her, her little cheeks got pink and she gave a shy wave. "Afternoon princess Emery" Kody said playfully causing Emery to giggle. "Hi mister Kody one more sleep closer till we can get married" Emery sang out earning groans from her brothers and cousins.

"Actually, you slept in the day baby" Uncle Mike stated. "Oh was bowling good?" Emery asked and then pouted cause she missed it even though she really didn't know what it was. "We didn't go because we wanted you to be awake" Taz stated earning a large grin from Emery. "Can we go now?" Emery asked getting excited that she didn't miss bowling and still may be able to go.

Uncle Mike looked at how excited Emery was and didn't have the heart to say no to her. It was almost dinner time but they could have dinner while bowling. "Ok just this once, but Emmy, it will be dark when we come home" uncle Mike explained. Emery didn't like the dark because of the shadows. She frowned no wanting to be out when it was dark. "We will be with you hunny and will protect you from the shadows" Chase said seeing the frown on Emery's face.

Emery was still unsure and looked around to see every one watching her. She could see they were a little concerned for her. They had protected her the night before so she gave a little nod hoping they wouldn't see and just assume she didn't want to go. Unfortunately for her they saw and she was stood up on her own two feet. "Right let's go bowling" Uncle Mike stated.

When they all reached the bowling alley, Emery was excited. There was lights of different colour flashing around and it was noisy. There was music playing and the sound is the balls hitting the pins. Emery liked the fact that there was no shadows at all because it had already started to get dark outside.

Uncle Mike got the lanes sorted for them, one with bumpers for Emery and the other without. He ordered a bunch of food and drinks for them all as well. Everyone got there shoes sorted until it came to Emery. Her feet were to small for the bowling shoes so she had to wear her runners which she wasn't happy about. She liked the red, black and white shoes even when everyone told her they were clown shoes.

When it was time to bowl Emery didn't have the strength to lift the ball so had to use a bowling ramp. She didn't like the pink ball so used a green one instead. Either Kody or Seb would place the ball on the ramp for Emery and she would push it down the lane. Uncle Mike made sure to tell Kody and Seb who had said they would bowl with Emery, that Emery was to win. The others all wanted a competition for bragging rights.

As they bowled the food came over and Emery tried to stay away from it but uncle Mike saw. She whined when he said she had to eat some, she really wasn't hungry at all. Uncle Mike made a deal with her though. Every time she got a strike she wouldn't have to have something to eat but if she didn't she had to try something. Emery agreed thinking she would get all strikes and was disappointed when she had to eat.

A birthday party full of boys turned up and took the lanes next to where the Quake's were bowling. The boys looked to be about 8 or 9 years old and were soon laughing at Emery's attempts to bowl. Emery didn't like it at all. She kept her head down and didn't bother to watch Kody or Seb who were doing worse then her at bowling.

"Hey princess Emery, it's your turn" Kody called out when she hadn't skipped up to the lane like she had done previously. Emery shook her head no, she didn't like being made fun of and the people in the other lane were making fun of her. She had heard them talking about how dumb and stupid she was because she couldn't bowl. They also called her a baby for not being able to fit the stupid bowling shoes. She decided she hated bowling and just wanted to go home.

Kody noticed the change in Emery and went over to speak with her when he heard some of the boys talking about her and pointing and laughing. "Oi leave her alone" Kody yelled when one of the kids threw a chip at her. This alerted all the Quake's because Kody rarely gets angry.

An older man with the party came over "what's the problem?" He asked Kody. "These kids are throwing things and teasing her" Kody replied glaring at the kids. "Tell your kid to toughen up. They are joking" the guy spat getting annoyed when Seb stepped beside Kody. "Listen tell your kids to leave her alone" Seb stated firmly. "What you going do about it?" The guys spat.

Uncle Mike was pissed off especially after seeing two of the kids throwing more food at Emery as she shrunk into her chair. Michael stormed over to the guy and got in his face. "Tell the kids to leave my niece alone" he spat. The guy knew exactly who Michael was, everyone did. "They are just playing" he stuttered out. "Let's play then" Michael smirked before picking up the milkshake he had got for Emery and tipping it on the guys head.
