Finding Emery

Michael immediately started ordering his men to go and look for her. He was furious that a 6 year old could slip away with no one noticing at all. Jasper was blaming himself but was told not to because they were just playing a game. Michael also ordered his men to check the cameras to see if she had been taken or if she walked away.

Kody was one of the people who had been ordered to go and find Emery and immediately took off. He was concerned for the little girl considering she had been alone for 2 years. He hadn't waited to see if she walked off by herself or was taken. He headed to where her father was found and hoped she may have gone back to where she last saw her dad. It was familiar to her and she wasn't really familiar with a lot of places around the house.

Michael checked the footage and watched as Emery took off out the gate by herself. He was relieved she wasn't taken, but also angry she had just wandered off. "She left?" Seb questioned. He didn't understand at all why she would just leave especially seeing she had no one but the family at the house. Jasper knew then exactly where Emery would be and grabbed his keys. Yes he could walk there but it was quicker to drive and he needed to get there fast. He was angry with Emery for disobeying him and leaving the house.

"Jasper do not scream at her" Michael called out when he saw Jasper grabbing his keys. "She left dad, she knew exactly what she was doing when she asked to play outside" Jasper fumed. "She is a scared little girl who has been on her own for two years. That shed is probably the only place she feels safe at the moment. I am coming with you" Michael concluded. He didn't want to upset Emery and he knew Jasper's temper would scare the girl for sure. Yes he was angry, but he also realised that she didn't really know what was happening.

Michael and Jasper headed towards the shed only to see Kody already heading into the shed. Emery was sitting in the corner talking to Nix. "Nix, this is our home for good now. Daddy isn't coming back at all. We have to get a job cause we can't take food anymore. We will pay back the man for the other things. And then when I'm 24 I'll marry mister Kody cause he makes the best strawberry smoothies after daddy of course" Emery stated. She spent most of the time in the shed talking to Nix until she fell asleep because she hated being on her own.

Kody heard Emery and sighed in relief. He was glad the little girl was safe and headed towards her. Emery froze hearing someone in her shed. No one had ever came here before today. She didn't know who it could be because it was almost dark so she kept her eyes tightly closed. That way she couldn't see the scary shadows at all. She wouldn't open her eyes then until the light alerted her it was morning.

"There you are" Kody stated once he spotted the girl behind some boxes. Emery didn't respond or opened her eyes at all. She hoped the person was speaking to a cat and would get out of her shed quickly so she could be safe again. Michael and Jasper headed to the shed expecting to see Emery safely in Kody's arms but she wasn't. She was frozen with her eyes shut right.

"Emery, come on let's get you back to the house. Everyone is worried about you" Kody stated. Emery still didn't move at all, it could be a trap and if she didn't move then the people wouldn't see her cause it was dark. They may just think she was a scary shadow. Michael and Jasper walked closer to where Kody was crouching down talking to Emery. Kody swung around with his hand on his gun ready to protect Emery. When he saw it was his boss and Jasper he relaxed and focused back on the little girl who still hadn't moved at all.

"Come on Princess Emery, open those pretty eyes for me. Uncle Mike and Jasper are here too. You scared us all" Kody stated. He was speaking softly to Emery so he didn't scare her. Emery peaked one eye open when she heard someone say princess Emery. The only person who had said that to her was Kody who she was planning to marry. Maybe he didn't know she was only 6 and they had to wait until she was bigger before she could go with him.

Emery couldn't really see because she really didn't know how to open one eye. As she did try to peak though she saw some shadows and quickly snapped her eyes closed again. She was scared now that it was the shadows who were talking to her. "Nix, the shadows are talking. I don't like it Nix" Emery whispered.

Michael rushed over to his niece hearing the wobble in her words. He assumed she was so scared and he wanted to offer her comfort. "Emmy baby, it's uncle Mike. You are safe and there is no shadows" uncle Mike stated softly. Emery shook her head no, she had kinda seen the shadows when she tried to peak to see if Kody was there. "Hey baby come on open those eyes for me and you can see it's just Kody, Jasper and me" uncle Mike stated trying to coax her to look at him. "I don't like the dark, I'll open my eyes when the light comes" Emery stated again her voice wobbled because she was on the verge of bursting in to tears.

Jasper had messaged everyone that Emery had been found. When he heard her getting upset because it wasn't light he had an idea. He quickly turned the light on on his phone and headed towards his dad. When he shined the light close to Emery everyone saw her body visible relax a little. Kody then pulled out his phone turning the light on as well. Once it was lighter Emery began to open her eyes.

Emery looked at her uncle and then saw that behind him the shadows were dancing on the wall. "Shadows" Emery screamed pulling Nix into her chest. "Emery you are safe, I'm going to pick you up now and take you to the car" uncle Mike said firmly before taking Emery into his arms. Emery was scared so gripped onto Uncle Mike willingly. She didn't like the shadows at all. Even when Michael tried to put Emery in the car, she would not let go at all. Uncle Mike sat in the back with Emery gripping onto his shirt like he would disappear if she let go and refused to open her eyes at all.
