Finding Bailey

Bailey was crying for Nelson and reaching her hands out to him. The ambulance officers were trying to get him out of the house. He required a lot of stitches which would be done at the hospital. It didn't look like the cut was deep enough to cause life threatening wounds, but they weren't doctors and needed to move.

"Princess, I am ok. Dada is ok" Nelson tried to reassure Bailey but nothing was working at all. Bailey was gagging because of how upset she was. One of the police officers saw and had a word with the lead paramedic. He knew Bailey was going to make herself sick if she wasn't with Nelson.

Harry brought Bailey over to Nelson as the ambulance officer had stopped just before loading him into the ambulance. "Princess, I love you. Pa is going to change you and then you are going to come see me. We will snuggle I promise" Nelson told Bailey. Nelson was feeling really light headed and the adrenaline was wearing off.

The ambulance officer loaded Nelson and Blair was going to go with his dad. Brax and Bodie were going to get some clothes together for Nelson and also help Harry clean up Bailey before heading to the hospital.

Freddie had calmed down now that things were settling and the bad man was gone. He wanted to check on Bailey to make sure she was ok. Harry was taking Bailey to have a quick wash and change her to get to the hospital. Freddie was also wet so his dad offered to bath them together while Harry changed as he had been holding Bailey while she was wet.

Brax and Bodie had grabbed a bag for Bailey and for Nelson and were packing bottles and snacks. Bailey clung to Freddie while they were in the bath. She was hiccuping and had snot all over her face. She didn't feel safe at all and Freddie and his dad were trying to make her feel safe but it wasn't working. Freddie's dad quickly washed the kids just as Brax walked into the bathroom.

Brax took Bailey into his arms and held her tightly. He knew how close they came to losing his sister today and he just needed to feel that she was safe. He also needed to get to his dad to see that his dad was safe.

Bodie had tried to go out the front but was stopped by one of the officers. "I'm sorry but this is a crime scene" the officer said. "I need to get to the car. I need to get to the hospital to see my father" Bodie stated. They had just been at the side of the house with the ambulance so why the hell couldn't he go out the front? "There is a body out there. You will need to use the side exit near the garage" the officer stated.

Bodie was not sure who was outside dead. "Who is it?" He asked the officer. "Melanie ...." the officer began to say. "My mum? My mum is dead?" Bodie asked the officer just as a Brax was walking down the stairs holding Bailey who was starting to fall asleep. "Melanie is dead?" Brax asked earning a nod from Bodie and the officer.

The boys didn't know how to feel, they just wanted to get to their dad. Freddie and his dad were now leaving through the side entrance with an escort by an officer to their car which was parked on the street. Freddie's dad had given a statement already and wanted to get Freddie home. Freddie just wanted to be with Bailey but when he saw her asleep he agreed to go home as long as he was able to ring Bailey later. Brax had agreed to that and swapped numbers with Freddie's dad. Brax and Bodie got Bailey into the car just as Harry was ready. They all took off to the hospital to check on Nelson.

Nelson was taken straight in when the ambulance pulled up at the hospital. He had doctors waiting for him. Blair was asked to check his father in while Nelson was taken in to a room to be assessed. The doctors got to work on cleaning and stitching the slash on his side as well as the knife wound in his arm. He was given pain killers and fluids along with antibiotics. It was close to two hours that the doctors worked on Nelson.

Bailey was just waking up when the doctors called Nelson's family in to see him. Nelson had been asking about his kids. He needed to see them all safe. Bailey was looking around for dada. She was whimpering and just wanted to make sure her dada wasn't hurt by the bad man.

When Harry walked in holding Bailey in his arms she began to cry when she saw the bandages on dada. "Dada ouchie" Bailey wailed. She thought it was her fault that Nelson was hurt by the bad man. "Come here princess" Nelson stated lifting his arms up to Bailey.

Nelson hissed in pain but he was determined to hold his baby girl in his arms regardless of the pain. Bailey was laid down next to Nelson on the side that wasn't cut. She was sobbing into his chest while Nelson tried to reassure her that everything was fine and that she was now safe from the bad man. "Princess you will make yourself sick. We are safe. The bad man is gone, the police took him away" Nelson told Bailey. Bailey nodded her head and began to calm down.

Nelson ran his hands through Bailey'a hair while checking on his dad and his boys. They all were shaken up with what had happened. None of them were use to things like that happening but everyone was going to be ok which was the main thing. Brax informed Harry, Blair and Nelson, that Melanie was deceased. Nelson wasn't concerned for himself. He was concerned for his children because regardless of what she had done, she was still the kids mother. The boys didn't know how to feel because she was a decent mother until she up and left.

After they had been speaking for about an hour, Bailey sat upright quickly calling out "wee wee". "It's ok baby, you have a nappy on" Bodie told his sister. She hadn't realised that she had a nappy on because she had been so upset. Bailey shook her head no and again said "wee wee". She wanted to use the toilet.

Harry picked up his granddaughter and took her to the toilet removing her nappy. Once Bailey was finished she refused a nappy on and again had to go without underwear. Bailey didn't care at all. She just wanted to stay snuggled with her dada which is exactly what she did.
