Chapter 28
The week flew by quickly. Nelson remained at home with Bailey which seemed to help settle her. Blair was home too and would take Bailey when Nelson was on a work call. Harry was around everyday as well. Bodie and Brax returned to work on the Tuesday with plenty of grumbling. They would have preferred to stay home with Bailey after all she was injured.
Bailey was again happy to be with any of her brothers and even with Pa but still was a daddies girl. She slept with Nelson every night as she wouldn't settle otherwise. Well she started off in her bed but would wake about 11pm and Nelson would just bring her to bed with him. He didn't mind at all. Each morning the boys took turns feeding Bailey her bottle and she loved to snuggled with them all. Things were getting back to normal for everyone.
Freddie's mum had organised a catch up on the Saturday as Freddie had not stopped talking about Bailey since spending last Saturday with her. He had even told his preschool that Bailey was his bestest friend ever. His mum and dad thought it was cute. Nelson agreed for Freddie to come around Saturday with his dad as he wasn't sure how Bailey would be going to the park again after her accident. Then they could walk to the park together if she was up for it.
Brax, Bodie and Blair were not happy that Freddie was going to be coming around at all. The weekends was their time with Bailey and now they would have to share it with another boy. Brax would have words with Bailey and this kid for sure he had told his other brothers. Harry and Nelson were joking and teasing the boys about their jealousy.
Bailey was happy munching on her pancakes oblivious to the boys around her sulking. "Bailey, Freddie is going to be here soon" Nelson told his daughter. Bailey smiled at her dada and everyone saw her dimples and the fact she was now getting another tooth. This caused Bodie to pout. He wanted his sister to smile like that when his name was mentioned, not some little boys. He didn't know that she did smile that big when Nelson would let her know he was home.
Bodie scooped up his sister when she was finished eating and took her upstairs to change her into a clean nappy and clothes for when Freddie arrived. When he got Bailey's nappy off her realised she was in fact dry. Bailey stood up off the floor where Bodie was changing her and waddled into the bathroom. "Bo" Bailey called. She needed to do a wee and wanted to use the toilet like she had seen her brothers and dada use. She hated nappies.
Bodie had only turned his back for a minute and Bailey had gone. He began to panic because he couldn't see his sister at all. "Dad" Bodie called as Bailey said Bo and Nelson came running. "What's happened?" Nelson raced out. "I lost her" Bodie stated while he was panicking.
Bailey was almost close to wetting herself she was busting to go to the toilet and even tried to climb up by herself. "Dada" Bailey cried out when she heard Nelson. Nelson raced into the bathroom to see Bailey standing near the toilet. Nelson went to pick Bailey up but she shook her head no and pointed to the toilet. "Do you need to do a wee?" Nelson asked Bailey. Bodie was standing right behind his dad watching his sister.
Bailey again pointed to the toilet wanting to do a wee but not knowing how to tell her dada. "I'll grab a nappy the other one was dry" Bodie stated but again Bailey shook her head no. "Oh you want to use the toilet?" Nelson asked. Bailey nodded her head, she needed to go now. Nelson picked Bailey up and held her while she balanced on the toilet. Bailey did her wee and sighed in relief as she did so.
Bodie was in shock seeing Bailey on the toilet. "Look at my big girl using the toilet to do a wee. So proud of you princess" Nelson cooed to his daughter. When Bailey had finished Nelson helped her wipe herself and praised the little girl some more while she smiled big. She too was proud of herself and loved the fact she wasn't in a wet nappy. Bodie took Bailey to get her dressed but she refused to have a nappy on at all.
"Little miss here is going commando. She refused to put a nappy on" Bodie stated walking back into the lounge room with his sister in one arm and a nappy is his other hand. Bailey was glaring at the nappy which was very cute and her brothers were laughing at her face before it was turned on them. "Bailey did a wee in the toilet. She is a big girl now and probably needs to get some underwear and a toilet seat" Nelson stated coming back into the room seeing all his kids were there.
"Dad she is still a baby" Brax raced out. He didn't like the idea of his sister growing up especially when they had just found her. He wanted her to stay a baby for a long time. He had already missed out on so much already. Bailey didn't like being called a baby at all and pouted at Brax. "How about I go get some big girl undies and a special princess seat for the toilet right now and you can wait for Freddie?" Nelson asked Bailey. Bailey smiled big at Nelson nodding her head.
Harry had walked in just in time to hear Nelson asking Bailey about big girl undies. "Chicken, did you do a wee on the toilet?" Harry asked. Bailey nodded and Harry swooped down picking up Bailey and twirling her around. "I'm so proud of you. You are growing up to quickly. Next you will be going off to school" Harry stated causing all the boys to glare at him. Harry raised his hands in surrender after he put Bailey down who was still giggling. "Least I didn't say running off with a boyfriend. Shessshh tough crowd" Harry mumbled but Nelson heard and laughed. "Oh Freddie will be here in an hour" Nelson laughed out. The boys all turned to glare at a smiling Nelson. He enjoyed teasing his boys and it was easy now they were all protective over Bailey.
Nelson kissed Bailey on the head letting her know he would be back with her big girl undies soon. He also told her to say wee if she needed to go to the toilet. The boys had calmed down a little when Nelson had suggested they play outside incase Bailey had an accident and were currently on the grass with Bailey picking little flowers and showing them to her brothers. Bailey loved to be outside especially with her brothers. The boys were happy as long as Bailey was happy.
