Finding Bailey

It had been four weeks since Bailey had been living with Nelson and her brothers. They had all fallen into a routine which was working for them at the moment. Blair or Harry would have Bailey in the morning while Nelson went to work along with Brax and Bodie who worked all day. Then Bailey would be brought to Nelson's office for lunch and a nap. Then when she woke Nelson would take her home and work from home on anything important while he cared for Bailey. Bailey was now only having a big sleep in the middle of the day as long as she went to sleep with Nelson in sight.

Bodie and Brax would spend time with Bailey after work bathing her and putting her to bed. Then on weekends the three brothers and Nelson spent the entire weekend with Bailey. Parties and get together had been replaced with putting a with their sister and dad and no one seemed to mind at all.

The second weekend they took Bailey to centennial park to feed the ducks and have a picnic. She was scared of the geese though but still had a great day. Bodie hired a bike and took her for a ride around the park where she promptly fell asleep within two minutes of the ride. Bodie didn't mind though because he got plenty of attention from women gushing over how cute his baby was.

The third weekend they took Bailey to the zoo. She chatted away to the monkey's behind the glass babbling away like she had just seen her life long friend who had been missing for years. They spent over an hour there with her babbling away. She also liked watching the seal show and spent her time clapping and squealing at the seals. Yeh boys were captivated by Bailey.

It was currently Friday and Nelson had to stay out all day. Blair was watching Bailey this morning when Nelson had an important meeting at work and then so he too got to have a social life, Harry was going to go over in the afternoon to watch Bailey. Nelson had a meeting with his lawyer about legalising an adoption of Bailey. They hadn't been able to contact Melanie at all and without permission they couldn't even enrol Bailey into childcare which they would need next year when Blair started uni. They would only need a few days as Nelson was going to work from home 2 days a week and Harry was going to look after her another day. There was a childcare at Nelson's work and he would use that for Bailey but they needed a legal guardian to sign her up. That way Bailey was close and he could spend his lunch break with the little girl.

Bailey was currently babbling away to Blair, she never stopped talking now she found her voice and at first they all thought it was so cute but when she woke at 2am with a dirty nappy it wasn't so cute at all. Bailey would spend at least half an hour babbling away after she had her nappy changed unless she was taken to sleep in with dada. Blair was nodding his head as though he could understand exactly what she was saying while she babble and threw her hands around. Next minute Bailey crawled away from where Blair was sitting.

Blair followed Bailey who was now trying to pull herself up against the fridge and pointing to the fridge. "Oh you want something to eat?" Blair asked Bailey. Bailey nodded her head and pointed to the fridge. "Ok, let's get you something" Blair stated. Blair made Bailey a plate of food putting her in her high chair and allowing her to feed herself.

Over the last couple of weeks Bailey had taken to feeding herself real food. She liked sandwiches and fruit. To begin with she would squash them in her hands but now if she knew what things were she would just eat them. She even liked to feed other people food too. But the bottles were hers. Brax learnt the hard way when he pretended to drink Bailey's bottle and got bitten on the nose. Bailey did not share her bottle with anyone not even dada.

Harry walked into his son's house and heard Bailey babbling away in the kitchen. When Bailey heard the door she got excited thinking it was dada. "Dada dada" Bailey squealed out. Her legs were swinging excitedly but when she saw pa her lip dropped. She was getting tired and wanted dada to give her her bot and hold her while she went to sleep.

Harry saw the look on Bailey's face and smiled at her sadly. He knew he would be in for a rough afternoon with Bailey as she was use to having Nelson around in the afternoon. "It's ok chicken, we will have a bot and go for a walk in the pram" Harry assured Bailey. Bailey was pouting but she did want her bot.

"Hey grandpa, I'll stay round in case she loses it" Blair offered. "Nonsense my boy, head out. You are a young man. My little chicken and I have a date in the park" Harry assured his grandson. Blair had nothing planned anyway and taking Bailey to the park seemed like a nice way to spend his afternoon.

Harry made a bottle for Bailey and changed her nappy. Blair got to pram ready and packed a bag for her with a few snacks and a change of clothes and clean nappy. Nelson had taught all his sons the importance of being prepared for anything when it came or babies because messes were inevitable. "All set" Blair declared when everything was ready to go.

Bailey was excited she thought they were going to go see dada. When she was put in the pram with her bot she fought to stay awake so she could see dada before she went to sleep. By the time they reached the park, Bailey was very irritated, she just wanted dada. Bailey began to sob calling for dada. Harry knew that there was no way to calm Bailey so he continued to walk her around in the pram until she fell asleep. Blair felt horrible for his sister and seeing her cry herself to sleep. They headed home knowing Nelson would still be a few more hours and hoped Bailey slept for as long as possible.

At 4pm Nelson was walking through the door. He heard Bailey crying and felt horrible. He had been longer then he had expected but had got the paperwork for Bailey's adoption. Now all he needed to do was find his ex and Bailey's biological father for them to sign. Then Bailey would be legally his. His lawyer had given him a number of a private investigator who would be able to track them down. The PI had a 98% success rate and you didn't pay unless the job was complete.

As Bailey heard the door close, she stood on her two little feet. "I'm home" Nelson called out. "Dada" Bailey called out. "I'm here princess" Nelson said heading towards the sitting room. Bailey took her first step heading towards Nelson. "Oh my gosh" Blair cried out. "Go Bailey" Harry stated. "Dada" Bailey called out taking another wobbly step just as Nelson rounded the corner. He saw his little princess walking. "Look at you walking" He cheered out and moved closer to Bailey putting his arms out. Bailey took a total of 6 steps walking into Nelson's arms. She clung onto him like he was her life line while he kissed her head and gushed about how proud he was of her.
