Finding Bailey

Brax and Bodie fought over who was going to care for Bailey and bath her that night. They didn't think it was fair that Blair or their father got to care for her as they had spent time with her during the day while both of them were at work. They both wanted Bailey to say their names and planned to kept repeating it over and over till Bailey said it.

Bailey was playing in the lounge room with her toys. She was sitting by herself and was more stable sitting without support. It seemed that with the right environment she was thriving and meeting milestones she hadn't met so far. Nelson sat opposite Bailey on the couch allowing his sons to bond with their sister. He was also conversing with his father about how to legalise an adoption of Bailey without his ex wife and whoever the father was signing the paperwork.

Nelson and Harry were not paying attention to Bailey and she was calling "dada dada". When she got not reaction she started to call "pa". Again she got no response. Bailey was getting frustrated. She threw her self on the ground using her hands to support the top of her body. "Go Bailey" Blair was chanting seeing her trying to crawl. Bailey continued to babble trying to get dada's attention.

Bodie and Brax were arguing still about who was bathing her tonight until they heard Blair chanting go Bailey and stopped to look at what she was doing. Blair grabbed his phone out and started to record what Bailey was doing. She was rocking while on her hands and knees looking at Nelson and Harry. You could hear she was getting frustrated because dada and pa were not paying her attention.

Bailey started to crawl slowly towards Nelson who was about 7 feet away from her. She fell twice on her way to dada but she was determined and always got back up. She was babbling away still trying to get dada's and pa's attention. When she was about 2 foot away Nelson and Harry finally looked at why Bailey was getting loud and saw she was crawling towards them.

"Come on princess, come to dada" Nelson stated putting his arms out to Bailey. She was now excited that she had dada's attention and was trying to move quickly. "Dada" Bailey squealed trying to move quickly. "That's it princess come on. Look at you go" Nelson cheered Bailey on. Once Bailey was within reach, Nelson scooped her into his arms and kissed her forehead. "Well done Bailey, I'm so proud of you" Nelson stated. Bailey giggled and looked at Nelson. Blair, Bodie and Brax were clapping Bailey.

Bailey turned to her brothers with a big smile on her face. She watched them clapping and cheering for her. She had no idea why but tried to copy them by clapping her hands and squealing. Harry chuckled seeing Bailey try to copy her brothers and helped her clap her hands properly. "Dada" Bailey stated before going into a full babble and then clapping her hands and squealing. Nelson smiled at Bailey and her excitement. "You crawled, did someone get that on camera?" Nelson asked realising she had just crawled, probably for the first time.

"I did" Blair said holding up his phone. "Send that to me" Harry stated and then leaned over to Bailey lifting her shirt and blowing a raspberry on to her stomach. Bailey shrieked and grabbed hand fulls of pa's hair squealing and laughing. "Ouch chicken let got. Ahh a little help please" Harry stated. Nelson couldn't help but laugh at his father and Bailey who released Pa's hair and began to clap again. She was kicking her legs too and she was very excited with what was happening and the attention she was getting. She wasn't use to all the positive attention at all but she loved it.

Harry blew raspberries on Bailey's arm this time so she wouldn't grab hold of his hair and still got the same reaction from her. Bailey squealed in delight and let out a full on belly laugh that had all the men in the room cooing and laughing with her. To them it was the best sound in the world and they would do anything for Bailey to hear he genuinely laugh all the time. Bailey seemed to be extremely ticklish. Bailey grabbed hold of pa's arm and attempted to blow a raspberry just like he did to her. Harry was covered in spit as she hadn't mastered the art of blowing raspberries but he couldn't help but laugh at her attempt.

After another 30 minutes of Bailey playing with her brothers, dada and pa, and she was getting really tired. "Ok princess it's time for a bath" Nelson told Bailey as she was rubbing her eyes. "I'll bath her" Brax stated jumping up and taking Bailey from his dad. "I'll get the bottle ready" Bodie added. "Bot?" Bailey questioned. Brax nodded his head, "after your bath sweetheart you can have a bottle" Brax told his sister who nodded her head as if she understood exactly what he was saying.

Brax gave Bailey a quick bath as she was tired. "Bailey say Brax" he kept repeating while bathing her. Bailey smiled at her brother before saying "backs". Brax couldn't wipe the smile off his face. "That's right sweetheart Brax" he praised the girl who was yawning now. "Bot backs?" Bailey questioned. "Yeh sweetheart, let's get you out then Bodie will give you a bottle" he told her. Bailey nodded before whispering "bo bot" just as Bodie walked into the bathroom to see if Bailey was ready.

Bodie smiled at his sister as Brax took her out of the bath wrapping her in a towel. "She said Bodie" Bodie gloated. "She also called me Brax" Brax gloated right back. Brax then added "and I got it all on camera". Brax had set up the camera before he put Bailey in the bath incase she said his name and he was glad he had. Bodie was thankful that the first time she said his name was recorded. Bailey had captured all of their hearts and each and every one of them had a special bond with the little girl.

Once Bailey was dressed in her pjs, Bodie took his sister to the lounge room. Brax sent the video of Bailey saying his and Bodie's name to everyone before he too joined everyone in the lounge room. Bodie began to feed Bailey her bottle as she struggled to stay awake. "She is coming along so well now she is in a stable environment" Nelson informed his sons who were all busy watching their baby sister try to stay awake. "She is where she belongs" Harry stated before excusing himself for the night informing his family he would be back tomorrow to spend more time with Bailey.
