Cupid's Arrow hit me hard!

Chapter 2543

Despite that, one of the guard dogs managed to bite Carrie on the foot.

Camryn was not at home. Without her permission, the butler did not allow Carrie inside. Instead, he gave her some money to get vaccinated at the hospital.

Terrified by the encounter with the dogs, Carrie grabbed the cash and quickly fled. Before leaving, she made it clear that she would settle scores with Camryn. This morning, with the company of her two cousins, she returned to the Newmans' villa. Only then did she find out that Camryn had gone to spend the weekend at Wildridge Manor with Callum.

Carrie was furious.

On the spot, she set out with her two cousins via a taxi and headed straight for Wildridge Manor.

Carrie had let her be bitten by the guard dogs, and she was determined to hold Camryn accountable. She also planned to report to the few Mrs. Yorks, exposing Camryn's cruelty beneath her seemingly benevolent exterior.

After all, they were still biological sisters from the same mother despite their poor relationship.

Camryn raised guard dogs in order to bite her sister. Was the York family willing to have a daughter-in-law as malicious as that?

Derrick, the eldest son of the Joyner family, picked up a pen and wrote their names and contact numbers in the visitors' register.

The security guard allowed them to proceed after checking.

The taxi driver then drove them up the hills.

Derrick cautioned, "Carrie, this is the York family's territory. Control your temper, don't use physical force. If you do, all three of us will suffer. The security guard's patience was a blessing, and he gave you a pass because you're a girl. Otherwise, even if he didn't call the police, he could have called his colleagues. That wouldn't end well for us."

Carrie raised an eyebrow and responded, "I'm like a tiger humiliated by dogs in this situation. It's all Camryn's doing. If not for her and Serenity, I'd still be the lofty Ms. Carrie. My parents wouldn't have lost their jobs, and I wouldn't have been stopped by a mere security guard."

When both of her cousins stared at her, she impatiently said, "Alright, I won't do it again. I didn't hit him that hard just now, and that guard dodged quickly. If he had been slower, I would have really wanted to smash his head.

"He's just a pathetic gatekeeper. How dare he stop us from getting through."

"These are their rules. We have to follow them."

The taxi driver could not help but add, "In the past, I've also brought passengers here, and others usually just register quietly to get through. But you guys are cursing and fighting. Luckily, the guards here have a good temper. Otherwise, you wouldn't get through that easily."

"Mind your own business and drive!"

Carrie's mood was foul after she got berated by everyone. As retaliation, she yelled at the driver.

She could not scold her cousins as she needed their support. However, who did the driver think he was, lecturing her like that?

The driver went silent.

He believed that, with this attitude, they might not even be allowed to enter Wildridge Manor when they arrived.

However, it was no longer his concern.

He planned to leave right after he dropped them off at the entrance and collected the fare. He wanted nothing more to do with them.

If he would ever see them trying to hail his service in the future, he would rather refuse their business than give them a ride.

There were no buses or taxis available in this area. If they chose to call an Uber, it would take some time for the Uber driver to arrive. The three of them would have to wait for a ride when they decided to leave this place.

As they drove halfway up the hills, they reached another security booth.

This time, although Carrie had her reservations and was annoyed at being stopped multiple times on her way up, she did not dare act as audacious as before. She remained in the car and let Derrick register. He was the most well-tempered among the three.
