Chapter 181
“Anyway… The doctor coughed and quickly began to flick through his notes on her once again. “As you are basically fully healed, there isn’t much I can assist with physically.” He quickly began to scribble in his notes before looking at Dylan once again. “I can prescribe you some vitamins to take daily, which will hopefully help to regulate your needs slightly, and I’m going to give you some sleeping pills, I suggest you take one tonight, you seem exhausted so use them to help you get a good nights sleep.”
“So, can I go now then?” The doctor nodded and sighed as she stood up off the bed.
“Your grace…” Doctor Bennet suddenly took on a very serious tone as he looked at my girl. “I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that your blood sugar is extremely low… you need to get some proper nutrients in your system, please don’t forget to eat.” He was right. She’d been here for three days now and was looking even more pale than she did before. “Take care of yourself.”
that The doctor handed her the pills he suggested before we both left. It was a relief to know she wasn’t pregnant, would have destroyed her more than words could say. However, the scan results were weighing on me profusely. I couldn’t believe how she still managed to even function with information like that. She really must have been favored by the moon goddess, otherwise how had she
so well.
“Are you
ok?” I didn’t know what else to ask her. She wasn’t ok, I knew that, I wasn’t sure she ever would be, I shouldn’t have even asked her that because I knew exactly what she would say, so instead of hearing her typical response yet again and getting frustrated by it, I asked her a different question. “Look… I’ve been thinking, and please Don’t kill me for suggesting this… but have you ever thought about praying?”
Her face screamed confusion as she looked at me, eyes swimming with nothing but curiosity.
“I can’t say I’m a particularly religious person.” The only thing was, I wasn’t talking about praying to her God.
“No… I mean… maybe you should pay your respects to the moon goddess. She’s obviously watching over you for some reas…” I was cut off by my girl, disgust crashing over her face at the mere thought of worshiping a lycan benevolent.
“I don’t believe in the moon goddess, and if I did then I certainly wouldn’t be sending her my respect.” Her words spewed from her lips hitting me like poison. To blatantly disrespect the goddess Luna the way she did, hurt me much more than I ever thought.
If there is only one thing that every lycan has in common, it is our regards for the mood goddess. We may have varied views of the new world and how it is run, we may differ in our opinions on how the humans are treated, but our goddess will always be the very force that unites our kind. So hearing my soulmate speak her sacrilegious views on our creator hit me more than words could express.
“She chose you for a reason, Dyl. Wether you believe in her or not, the truth of the matter is that every single wolf worships her. You will always be queen, regardless of what you decide or how you were treated.” Even now, she still refuses to acknowledge the truth, and that was that she was destined to rule. “Our celestial chose you, among trillions of people in the world, she singled you out. Some lycans may not like that choice and some may wrongly agree with Josh’s treatment of you, but you are still, and always will be our goddess given queen. No one can deny you that position.”
