Chasing The Broken CEO

Chapter 29

I sighed in relief when we arrived at the top of this hill where the Tayid light house is located. My lips parted when as soon as I saw the beautiful view of the blue sea from where I am standing. A smile escaped my lips as I feel so amazed to see the entire province of Basco, Batanes from here. It's really fascinating and it makes me feel home. I gazed on the left part of the view where there are a lot of hills complimenting the beauty of the sea. The ocean below is very calm and the rock formations are adding up to its real beauty. On the right side, there are mountains, trails and pathway going to the village and up here.

I slowly walked towards the light house. The cold and salty wind blew my hair. I ran my fingers through my hair and placed it on my left shoulder. I looked at the tall light house and I can't help but to feel amazed because it is indeed fascinating. I mean... this whole place is!

"Should we go inside?" Evan asked me curiously.

I looked at him. He's standing in front of the small house connected to the light house. I was about to warn him not to do anything but he already went inside.

"Hey, Evan!" I called him but it's already too late.

I checked the whole place. It seems that we are the only ones who are here and I didn't see a locale that I can ask if it's alright to enter into the light house. I sighed in defeat. I looked at the Tayid light house again and I admit that I am curious as to how it feels to be up there. Out of curiosity, I went ahead and followed Evan inside.

The small house is dark and cold. The only thing that gives light in it was the sun rays reflecting in the window. I touched the wall that was made out of a brick stone. It's cold and appears to be substantial. I felt like it's safe to be in here even if there would be a thunderstorm.

I walked towards the cemented stairs. It is a well-built long spiral stairs. I looked above and I no longer see Evan. He's already up there, I guess. He went there so fast!

"Evan!" I called his name once again. I heard my voice echoing in the whole place.

"Come up here, Risha!"

"Hey! Why did you run up there? What if we're prohibited here?!" I snorted, with a loud voice that he could hear.

He didn't answer so I have no choice but to run upstairs and followed him. It felt like I am in a castle, wanting to see what it's like to be on the top and what would I see up there. This place is literally old that made me think that way. I gasped when I reached the very end of the stairs. I slowly walked towards an open door.

The cold air embraced my skin. I walked further until I saw the amazing wholeness of Batanes.

"Be careful," said Evan and then he stepped closer to me.

My lips parted when he held my hand and pulled me until we reached the front part that is like a balcony.

"Oh, my goodness!" I blurted out when I saw the clouds from where I am standing.

The sun is about to set and watching it from here makes me feel happy, like I am in cloud nine. This is the first time I've seen a beauty like this!

I can't even hide my smile. I could trade my whole life just to see this kind of scenic view every single day!

"This place is truly beautiful!" I gushed.

I glanced at Evan and found him staring at me. The wind continued to blow his brown colored hair. He's also smiling at me.

I have to be honest. Evan is such a great view. My heart pounded aggressively while enjoying the scenic view and of course, Evan's presence.

"Yeah, it's very beautiful..." he chuckled and then gazed at the sunset.

"But are we even allowed to be up here?" I asked him, worried.

I looked down and almost wanted to vomit! I forgot that I have fear of height! I gripped firmly on the railings.

I heard him laugh. What the hell? What is it to laugh about?

"You should've stopped me from looking down!"

"Then don't do that again or else you will feel dizzy. Let's just want the sunset in the mean time before we go back to the hotel," he simply told me.

"Fine then..." I replied.

That seems to be a nice idea though. Anyway, I didn't know that watching the sunset with him could feel this good. I am not being dramatic but an alone time with Evan at this very moment is something that gives me a powerful and intense unfamiliar feelings.

I watched the sunset in silence. I also observed the waves bumping into the rock formations, and the soothing sound of it. I also gawked at Evan for several times.

He was watching the sunset carefully with a small smile evident on his lips. He's breathing calmly, it is like the scenic view was giving him a warm feeling too.

"You love this place...." I stated with a fact of satisfaction clearly showing on his face.

He glared at me and nodded. "You did choose the best place for your escape, Risha."

I smirked and shook my head. I leaned to the metal railings and watched him closely.

"What did my parents say? How did they react?" I asked him curiously.

I haven't heard any news from them. I turned on my mobile phone but I still don't have the courage or even the strength to call my mother. It is only Evan who keeps on interacting with them.

And I just want to make sure that they are both safe. That my father didn't have a heart attack and my mother did not have a breakdown.

"To be honest with you, they are worried sick," he replied and then he breathed out. "I told them that you could do everything you want and I don't want you to resign from your work just because we'll get married soon."

I sighed in relief. I nodded to agree with what he just said. I don't want to resign from work. I don't want to end my career as a Legal Stenographer just because I would be a wife of a well known Zendejas.

"I don't want to live under your shadow, Evan. That will give a sting feeling in my life. I don't want to end my dreams that way..." I bit my lower lip.

"That is what I figured out too. You are a smart girl and by that, you deserve the freedom you can get while you're with me," he leaned to the railings to. "Does that mean you finally changed your mind and will marry me this time?" I chucked a bit and stared at him carefully. His eyes narrowed at me, still waiting for my answer to his question.

"Are you in hurry to get married?" I asked.

"Not really but our engagement will happen by next week so I need an accurate answer from you..." the side of his lips rose.

My forehead creased. It's strange that I get to see his smiles. Why is he smiling at me though? It's like he's using his charm on me so that I would say yes, and accept this whole thing again.

"Did my parents agree that I can keep my job as a Legal Stenographer?"

He nodded slowly. "That has been resolved, my little Rish..."

My little Rish!

Damn it! Why does it feel so good to hear him call me that way?
