Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)

Chapter 937

"Steve, remember this name-Theodore. He is your enemy."

Night fell.

The hospital was immersed in darkness, with starlight outside like scattered pearls glimmering over the buildings. The faint light outlined the hospital's silhouette as the moon slowly rose, casting a soft silver glow over the world. Theodore lay on the hospital's white bed with a white sheet covering him. The room was filled with the smell of disinfectant.

Soft light bathed his pale face, highlighting his exhausted expression.

An IV drip hung beside the bed, with a clear liquid slowly flowing into his veins.

Theodore opened his eyes, his gaze wandering around the room. He sat up in bed and glanced at the IV drip bag, noticing there was still about half remaining.

The door to the ward opened, and a foreign man walked in.

"Mr. Spencer, you're awake."

"Have you found her?" Theodore asked anxiously.

The man shook his head. "Not yet. We're still searching other locations."

The light in Theodore's eyes dimmed, his face heavy with sorrow and worry. He lowered his head, a bitter smile on his lips. He was filled with endless regret.

He should have gone after her right away. He shouldn't have let her leave on her own so late at night.

How could he have been so careless, allowing her to drive away alone in the dead of night?

He should have followed her, regardless of the situation. He shouldn't have stayed behind because of Aurora's injury.

In the past, he had resented Rosalie for choosing Sebastian over him at a critical moment.

Yet now, he had chosen Aurora over Rosalie, leading to Rosalie's disappearance.

It hadn't been a difficult choice for him at the time. Even if he had followed Rosalie, Aurora wouldn't have been in any danger. He hated himself for not going after Rosalie.

Pain flickered in his deep and dark eyes, and he felt hopeless. He was consumed by regret and guilt, as though an invisible force had locked him in an inescapable prison.

"Mr. Spencer, not finding anything yet might be good news. As long as there's no body, it means she's still alive. She might be in hiding."

"She also could have been captured and imprisoned." Theodore raised his head, and he clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His gaze was filled with anger and self-reproach. FindNovel

There were too many cases like this-young women disappearing without a trace, as if they had vanished into thin air. Years later, it was often discovered that they had been held captive and tortured until they were unrecognizable.

Theodore couldn't bear to imagine what kind of torment Rosalie might be enduring. Had a monster abducted her? And what was that monster doing to her?

Even though he was only imagining it, there was a high chance it had happened.

Theodore could hardly breathe. He clutched his chest, feeling as though he were suffocating.

At that moment, the ring of his phone broke the silence. Theodore looked at the caller ID-it was his mother. After taking a moment to collect himself, he answered the call. "Hello, Mom."

"Theo, your grandmother wanted me to check on you. How are things in Melrine?" Sydney asked.

Theodore didn't want his mother to worry, so he didn't mention Rosalie's situation. He forced a smile, trying to control the pain in his voice as he replied hoarsely, "Everything's fine."
