Aurora stood up. "Mr. Spencer, your grandmother has gone to rest."
"I'll make a move too," Theodore said as he approached her. "Thank you so much for today. Apologies if I held you back from your plans." Aurora said with a smile, "I didn't have much on today, anyway. I'm glad I was able to help you."
Theodore said, "Let me send you back."
Aurora didn't want to trouble him any further, but she also wanted to spend time alone with him, so she nodded. "Alright, thank you."
The two of them were about to leave when a voice stopped them.
"Theo. Ms. Payne."
Sydney approached them.
Theodore stopped in his tracks, and turned around. Sydney stopped right in front of them and shot them a smile, her gaze landing on Aurora.
"Hello, Ms. Payne. It's my first time meeting you today."
Aurora greeted politely, "Hello, Mrs. Harper. You're so beautiful and young."
She meant her words, having been blown away by Sydney's beauty the moment she saw her. Sydney looked to be only slightly over 30 years old, a young and beautiful woman in her prime. Aurora herself was just over the age of 20, but she knew she couldn't compare to Sydney even with her youth.
It was no surprise that a beauty like Sydney could have such a handsome son like Theodore.
Theodore's father was suave, too. Theodore was indeed blessed with outstanding genes.
Sydney smiled. "I can't be compared to young ladies like you."
"No way, Mrs. Harper. You're much better than us! Your wisdom and poise is not something we can match up to. I'm just an ignorant young chit."

Sydney had seen her share of people with honeyed tongue. Aurora wasn't anything special.
At the very least, however, people who were smooth-talkers like Aurora weren't annoying.
"I didn't even know Theo had a friend like you. Theo, why didn't you even mention her to me? You really should have brought Ms. Payne over for a meal so we can get to know each other." Theodore said flatly, "You know her now, don't you?"
His tone wasn't exactly cold, but clearly lacking in enthusiasm. He sounded distant, even.
Sydney said with a half-smile, "Yeah, now I do."
Aurora could sense something amiss in the air.
'Does Mr. Spencer have a poor relationship with his mother?' she wondered.
She somehow felt a strange vibe between them.
However, she also knew that she
was a mere outsider, and it was not her place to comment. All she could do was to stand there quietly
