CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1719

Nina stood firmly in front of him. "This is a major life decision. How can you say you're not interested? Even the doctors and nurses at your hospital get time off. What are you, a machine that never stops working?

"I know what you're thinking," she continued, her tone softening slightly. "You're considering adopting a child. But adoption will never be quite the same as having one of your own. If you have the time and energy, why not just have a child yourself?" Her concerns weren't unfounded. Many adoptive families face challenges-misunderstandings, conflict, or emotional distance.

Wilfred chuckled lightly, brushing her worries aside. "Why would I adopt someone else's child when you already have two of your own? Pharaoh entrusted me with one task: to watch over you and Orion. When Orion grows up, do you think he'd just leave me to fend for myself? I'm sure he'll take me in. Then, I'll be under the same roof as you again. That counts as a kind of companionship too, doesn't it?"

Nina couldn't help but roll her eyes at his logic. "That's not the same thing at all! Stop with these ridiculous ideas. I don't know what my dad did or didn't say to you, but let me make one thing clear: someone needs to be there for you. I'm serious, Wilfred."

Nina was resolute. When she made up her mind, no one could talk her out of it. She even went as far as printing out Wilfred's personal information, intent on creating a profile for him on a dating website.

But as she sat there, ready to post it, she hesitated.

She meant well, but if Wilfred didn't agree to it, wouldn't it just burden him?

With a sigh, Nina tore up the papers and tossed them into the trash.

When Nash returned home that evening, he immediately noticed the troubled expression on her face.

"What's wrong? Everything's been going well lately, hasn't it? Nothing's happened, right?"

With nothing out of the ordinary going on, Nash couldn't understand why Nina was wearing such a troubled expression.

Nina couldn't hide it any longer and spilled everything. "I'm worried about Wilfred. Everyone around us has moved on with their lives. They've settled down, started families. But Wilfred is still alone after all this time thought about putting his information on a dating website, but then I realized that would be crossing a line. I didn't want to do something he didn't agree to. But I can't help worrying."

Nash pulled her into his arms, his voice calm and reassuring. "It's a good thing you didn't post it. This is something Wilfred needs to figure out for himself. No matter how much you care, you can't rush him. Besides, isn't he in Birkham now?"

He stroked her hair gently and continued, "As long as he's here, under my watch, I'll know if anything happens. You don't need to worry so much." Nina nodded reluctantly.

But as it turned out, Wilfred didn't need any help attracting attention. Outside his office every day, a small crowd of interns and nurses gathered.

Some hoped to get close to him under the pretense of work, while others were more straightforward, boldly trying to pursue him.

Wilfred, however, turned them all away.

Until one afternoon, when there was a firm knock on his door.

"Come in," he said, his tone curt.

By now, he had made it clear that anyone coming to see him without a valid work reason would not be entertained. Most people were too intimidated to ignore that rule.

It was indeed work-related. His

assistant, Christine, rushed in,

looking flustered. "Dr. Wilfred, it's

urgent! Dr. Norman is having serious complications with a surgery, they need you to step in

immediately."

"Why didn't they call me directly?" Wilfred's expression darkened, his tone sharp and unforgiving.

Having spent five years by Nina's side and now being in Birkham, Wilfred held the hospital's reputation in the highest regard.
