Captivation: Want Nothing But You

Chapter 1528

Rachel closed all the car windows, placed her hands on the steering wheel, leaned back, and closed her eyes.

She couldn’t get Wallace’s words out of her mind.

Who was this person who tried so hard to frame her six years ago?

Why her?

Rachel searched all the possibilities in her mind, but her brain couldn’t bring one person to her mind that would have some motive.

This person helped Tara and Wallace to become committee members and never made any other personal request other than to get her arrested.

Her thoughts were a mess.

Rachel got all the more confused as she tried to figure it out.

Wallace would die.

Tara was sentenced to international prison for the rest of her life.

Ideally, Rachel had avenged herself, and it was perfect.

Yet she wasn’t happy.

Suddenly, the phone on the passenger seat vibrated.

It pulled her back to the present.

Rachel took the phone, and the screen lit with a message.

It was from Roger.

“Are you in the company? Let’s have Lunch together.

I’ll pick you up at noon.”

Because of what happened in the past few days, Rachel had almost forgotten Roger’s existence and the dinner promise she had made.

She quickly typed out a reply.

“I’m not in the company.

I had something to deal with.

Send the address.

I’ll go there.”

Roger knew that Rachel would have to return to the company, so he booked a private room at one of the restaurants near the Bennet

Group building.

By the time she arrived, he had already ordered her favorite dishes.

Rachel looked at the food-laden table and asked, “Have you been waiting for long?”

Roger smiled.

He took her coat and hung it on the rack.

“No, not too long.

They just now served the food.

Sit and taste it.

My assistant told me that their food is good.”

Rachel nodded.

It was natural for Roger to hold her hand.

He was surprised to find it cold.

Rachel was surprised.

Although she wasn’t used to it, she didn’t bother to withdraw her hand.

“What is it?”

“Why are your hands so cold?”
