Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan)

Chapter 97

Nathan was choked by Theo, causing his face to turn red.

He clenched his back teeth and interrogated Theo, "What exactly is your relationship with Thea?" Theo crossed his arms and said, "Guess."

Nathan smirked and said, "At one moment it's the relationship between a boss and an assistant, then it's the relationship between siblings, and then it's the relationship between lovers. This relationship is quite messy, isn't it?"

Theo leaned his handsome face close to Nathan's and blew a warm breath near his ear, looking particularly mischievous. "Prince, actually, Thea and I have a partnership relationship."

Nathan sneered, "You're overestimating her. She's just capable of making a few clothes. Mr. Sanchez's career shouldn't be confined to the realm of women's dresses."

This statement is truly a pun.

Theo smiled knowingly and said, "Prince, you guessed it right. I actually have no interest in fashion brands at all. The only purpose of my collaboration with Thea is to defeat you."

Nathan's handsome face instantly lost its color.

He stared at Theo in shock and said, "Mr. Sanchez, but we had no grievances and no conflicts recently, right?"

Theo laughed lightly. "But you offended Thea. And you offended her quite seriously."

Nathan realized a terrifying fact from her indifferent expression. "I thought you were using Thea as a weapon against me in our business competition. But now it seems like I was wrong. It turns out she wanted to destroy me, and you were the weapon helping her to do so, right?"

Theo clapped his hands and said, "Young master, you have finally become smarter. During the past period, your intelligence was constantly dropping, and I felt it was quite boring to compete with someone as foolish as you."

Nathan gritted his teeth and said, "Theo, you, the proud son of the Browns, with all your wealth and prosperity, how could you willingly obey a woman who came from the slums?"

Theo said, "Prince, I never expected that you, the esteemed prince who should have been admired by all, would become infamous because of a mortal tea fox. Well, it's just a case of 'each to their own' between us."

Nathan scrutinized Theo's eyes with a fixed gaze. Up until now, he still couldn't believe all the efforts Mr. Sanchez had gone through, all for his ordinary and peculiar ex-wife.

After the end of the second episode, Nathan took the opportunity before the recording of the new episode to return to the downtown area of Capital city.

He went to visit his good brother Guillermo and asked, "Guillermo, do you know what special relationship there was between Theo and Thea?"

Guillermo, however, was also completely puzzled and confused, saying, "I watched the variety show that you recorded, and I also found it particularly strange. Theo and Thea behave like real siblings, but I asked my dad, and he was absolutely certain that Thea has no blood relation to us, the Sanchez family."

"That's impossible," Nathan said, clearly flustered. "Thea is introverted and even has social anxiety. She is particularly wary of strangers. But she dotes on Theo so much, even more than she used to love me. I'm certain they had already become acquainted three years ago."

Guillermo waved his hand and said, "This is impossible. Theo grew up with the Browns when he was young, and I heard that he was introverted since childhood. Mr. Brown, fearing any mishap to his precious only grandson, always had many servants by his side wherever he went. How could he have had time to get to know someone like Thea, a commoner?"

Nathan shook his head, clearly not agreeing with Guillermo's statement.

"There is a mystery behind this." Nathan said confidently.

Guillermo said, "I will investigate this matter for you."

Nathan nodded.

After leaving the Sanchez, Nathan paid a visit to the Hill family.

Mrs. Hill lay sick in bed, with half of her hair turned gray. The once glamorous lady seemed to have aged ten years overnight, looking extremely haggard.

Nathan returned home and knelt by Mrs. Hill's bedside, confessing his sins faithfully. "Mother, I have been unfilial. I have disobeyed your wishes and caused you distress."

Mrs. Hill turned her head away without looking at him and said angrily, "If you really care about being filial to your mother, then divorce Victoria.

Nathan was very troubled and said, "Mom, my son will only love Victoria in his lifetime. I will not divorce Victoria. Besides this matter, I will listen to you on everything else."

Mrs. Hill became angry. She closed her eyes and ignored Nathan.

Nathan told her about his recent

situation, mostly complaining about his misfortunes. Mrs. Hill would have undoubtedly wholeheartedly helped him solve his problems, but now she acted as if she hadn't heard a word.

Nathan let out a weak sigh.

"Mom, you rest well. Son will come to see you another day."

Nathan left feeling disappointed.

When he had just reached the door, Mrs. Hill suddenly said, "Your father knows about you and Victoria getting married. He got very angry and called you a good-for-nothing. He's probably going to give up on you."

Nathan trembled and finally realized, in hindsight, the reason why Alaric had asked him to participate in the reality show.

Indeed, he was completely kicked out of the Hill family's power center.

Nathan said, "I'm sorry, I disappointed you."

Mrs. Hill grabbed the bedside lamp in anger and threw it at him. "For the sake of a Victoria, you ruined your career, was it worth it?"

Nathan stubbornly said, "Mom, believe me, I will make a comeback."

Mrs. Hill despairingly collapsed onto the bed and weakly waved at him, saying, "You go, and don't come back. I'll pretend I never gave birth to you."

Nathan's cold face finally cracked. "Mom?" His eyes turned red, and his voice choked.

"You were indifferent to my plight, disregarding it completely. Why should I exhaust myself in giving my all to you? Our mother-son relationship has come to an end," Mrs. Hill's words sliced through

Nathan's skin like a blade,

"Mom, please, please don't do this." He knelt on the ground, slowly moving back step by step.

Mrs. Hill, however, directly ordered the security guard, "Bring him out. Don't let him appear in front of me without my permission in the future."

Several security guards approached and dragged Nathan out.

"Mom, please don't treat me like this..."

Mrs. Hill burst into tears, saying, "Without giving you some lessons, you will never grow up."

Nathan sat despondently on a wooden bench in the street garden, like a lost dog.

The cool breeze made his body feel a chill, but it couldn't compare to the coldness in his heart. He was also so hungry that his front and back were sticking together, and at this moment, at first glance, he actually looked somewhat like a beggar.

"Are you eating?" A pair of delicate jade hands reached out. A warm steamed pancake was handed over.

Nathan had never thought that this coarse grain would taste so delicious today. Without any hesitation, he took it and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Take your time eating. Don't choke."

The gentle voice made Nathan suddenly look up.

Nathan stood dumbfounded in place as he looked at Thea's face.

"How come it's you?"
