Chapter 96
"Okay," Thea responded promptly.
"Sister..." Theo hesitated, wanting to say something.
"Theodore, do you need me to help you with something?" Thea knew Theo well, as he was quick-witted, so his spoken language was always fluent, except when he was in a dilemma, then he would stutter. Theo glanced at the fierce wind and rain outside the window, and Thea's slender figure flashed through
his mind. In the end, he didn't speak up. "Sister, it's nothing. I just miss you. That's why I called you, just to hear your voice."
Then the two people bid each other goodnight and said goodbye.
The director was puzzled, "Theo, did you give up the opportunity for assistance because you didn't offer help to the other party?"
Theo accepted his failure very calmly. "Well, my sister was not feeling well. I couldn't bear to see my sister worrying about me."
The director gave a thumbs up and said, "Wow, just now when we were listening to you siblings chatting, we could really feel that your bond is really great."
Theo smiled brightly.
One of the guests couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Sanchez, what is your sister's name?" The look of
astonishment on his face was almost as if he wanted to say, "How come I have never heard of you having a sister?"
Theo arrogantly said, "My sister's name was Thea."
"Your names, siblings, differ by only one character. Indeed, you are siblings."
Nathan, however, displayed a skeptical and shocked expression.
He had thought that Theo's kindness towards Thea was a carefully planned manipulation. But now, seeing the smile on Theo's face when he mentioned Thea, and his concern for her well-being, and to make
matters worse, the deep connection between Thea's name and Theo, Nathan had to overturn his previous speculation.
He had to admit that the relationship between Theo and Thea was not as false and shallow as he had imagined.
Nathan began earnestly reviewing Theo and Thea's storyline, and in the end, he stumbled upon a very sensitive moment: three years ago, Isabella used the stage name Thea at the Milan Fashion Design Competition. Therefore, their relationship had already been precious at that time.
But this is absolutely absurd.
Before that, Thea and Theo were probably not acquainted, how could two people who just met have such a deep connection?
Nathan scrutinized Theo with sharp eyes, who was only fifteen years old three years ago. Three years ago, Thea was still Isabella, his wife. Such a traditional girl like her would never have flirted with an inexperienced young boy behind his back.
What secrets were there in the middle that he never knew?
After the aid mission was over, Victoria indeed entrusted her assistant to bring Nathan warm clothing and
a quilt. Everyone envied Nathan, saying, "Lady Hill is so quick to send them to you, afraid that you might feel cold. It's definitely true love for you."
Nathan had a satisfied smile on his face.
Theo touched his empty stomach and poured a basin of cold water, saying, "Madam Hill only brought you clothes? She didn't even bring you any food? She didn't consider it thoroughly. Or maybe she doesn't love you enough."
Nathan unwillingly said, "It's better than having no one to bring you supplies."
Theo instantly disappeared.
Then, grumbling in dissatisfaction, he muttered, "I didn't tell my sister Thea that I was cold. I'm going to tell her now, and she will definitely send me a carload of supplies. I'm telling you, it will have everything I need for clothing, food, shelter, and transportation."
Nathan teased, "You really know how to play chess, the horse cannon is the most powerful move."
Theo said, "My lord, it is through the long journey that one knows the strength of a horse, and only with time can one truly see the hearts of people."
Inside the window, everyone was chatting and laughing merrily.
But unable to resist the invasion of
the cold weather outside, as the night grew deeper, everyone's willpower to resist the cold became weaker and weaker. Nathan, on the other hand, was dressed warmly, lying leisurely on the sofa, sleeping in his clothes. The others stomped their feet, trying to warm themselves up through exercise, and couldn't help but complain, "I didn't expect it to be so cold on the mountain."
Someone added inappropriately, "Actually, the environment we used to film in was even worse..." Just as everyone was making the best of a bad situation, suddenly the sound of a car horn pierced through the quiet night sky, approaching the farmhouse.
"Did someone come?" The guests perked up their ears.
"Anyway, whoever comes, it couldn't possibly be my family," the first guest's face couldn't hide the disappointment.
"My family did not answer the phone, and they could not come to help me either."
"Who was that?"
Outside the window, a gentle yet powerful voice suddenly came, saying, "Theodore, come out."
Before everyone could react, Theo shot out like an arrow. "Sister."
Then someone, using the dim streetlight outside the window as a reference, saw a truck full of supplies and exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, Ms. Sanchez has delivered a truckload of goods."
"Wow, Ms. Sanchez was so warm-hearted."
"Let's go and pick them up."
Other guests ran out one after another to receive the supplies.
Nathan opened his eyes coolly.
He sat up quietly and walked to the window.
In the pouring rain, Theo held an umbrella, standing under it with Thea. The umbrella leaned towards Thea, and Theo's body got wet halfway.
Confusion shone in Nathan's eyes.
"Sister, let's go help transport the supplies," the guests ran over one after another.
Thea smiled and said, "Everyone gets a share. I brought each of you a set of warm jackets and clean socks and shoes..."
"Sister, is there any food to eat?"
"There were freshly baked roast chicken and roast duck... candied chestnuts... they were all Theodore's favorite dishes at home."
After the guests had emptied all the supplies, the room quickly became piled up like small hills. There were all kinds of warm supplies, snacks, and leisure items, one could say everything was available. Nathan looked at those supplies, and inexplicably, some expectations arose in his heart: Shouldn't there also be some supplies specially prepared for him by Thea according to his preferences? After all, he was also the person she had loved deeply.
However, when the supplies were being looted, the variety inside was abundant There were seafood, various types of bread, snacks, and even various types of melon seeds and peanuts... surprisingly, there wasn't a single flavor that he
particularly loved to eat.
I remember that Isabella used to love preparing spicy beef jerky for him. Now her preference for him has disappeared.
And those assault jackets, surprisingly, Nathan was the only one who didn't have one after they were snatched up by the guests.
Nathan felt a trace of disappointment inexplicably welling up in his heart. The woman who once loved him so much now regarded him as nothing.
Outside the window, Theo and Thea
bid farewell, and it was a while
before Thea returned indoors. Seeing Nathan lost in thought, Theo couldn't help but tease him, saying, "Prince, how about it? Isn't my Thea more gentle, considerate, and caring than your wife?"
