Chapter Sweet Brother 269
Chapter 269 Chapter

Tracy, tears streaming down her face, spoke in a desperate, disjointed voice, "Trevon, I need to beg Elaine. I have to ask her to help Jepson. I can't just stand by and watch him die in that ICU because we don't have enough money for his treatment. He's your brother, for God's sake!"
Her words were rushed and filled with anguish.
"No matter the outcome, I have to make sure, make sure that Jepson's life is saved." She finished, her eyes red and swollen, and then she broke down into uncontrollable sobs.
Trevon watched his mother in agony, and his heart sank. He had never imagined that the proud woman who raised him would, one day, degrade herself like this, begging on her knees for her son's life.
But, as Shawn had said, they should not drag Elaine into this. Everything that had happened felt like a karmic chain, a web they had tangled themselves in.
"Mom, this is just going to make it worse," Trevon replied, shaking his head. "Elaine won't want to see us. And you really shouldn't go begging her for money. First, our family hurt her, and second, she's already cut ties with us. You want to go to the Yeats family and beg for money to save Jepson?
"How is that any different from moral blackmail? What gives you the right to ask her? Are we really going to keep running to Elaine for help every time something goes wrong with this family? Is that fair to her?" He paused, his voice softening. "If Elaine chooses to help Jepson, then that's her decision. But if she doesn't, we can't force her or blame her. And..."

He trailed off, knowing that the true culprit behind all this mess was Bianca-the one who had started it all. They still didn't know the full story of what had happened to Jepson. They could only wait for him to wake up.
The surveillance footage had been destroyed, and there were no witnesses. The only one who knew the truth was Bianca, but Trevon was sure she would never speak the truth.
The rest of the family, including their parents and grandmother, were still in the dark about Bianca's true nature.
Why should Elaine be the one to clean up Bianca's mess?
It was understandable that Trevon was frustrated. But Tracy, blinded by her desperation, wasn't hearing any of it.
She wiped away the tears from her face and said resolutely, "Trevon, I will go find Elaine. I'll do whatever it takes!" Trevon looked at his mother's stubborn face and sighed inwardly. From the beginning, this family-and especially his mother-had wronged Elaine. She had always been the one to suffer. Trevon exhaled deeply and spoke with finality, "Mom, I won't take you to the Yeats family."
"What?" Tracy's eyes widened, a hurt look crossing her face. "You won't listen to me now, Trevon? Why? All I'm doing is trying to save your brother. Why are you blaming me for wanting to ask Elaine for help? Have you all decided that I'm just a villain now?"
She was confused. Why was everyone suddenly against her? Why did Trevon, too, turn on her when all she wanted was to
save her son?
Elaine had somehow managed to turn this family upside down. Tracy felt the weight of it all. Her marriage was falling apart, and her sons were starting to turn against her. It felt like she had nothing left to hold on to.
Trevon looked at her helplessly, his heart heavy. "Mom, it's not that I don't want to listen. It's just that I really can't do anything about this. I won't go and disturb Elaine's peaceful life. If I do that, I'll never be able to call myself her brother 1/3

again. Even if Elaine doesn't acknowledge me anymore." 0021%2

He knew there was no point in arguing further with Tracy, so he simply gave up, realizing now, more than ever, why Tucker and the others had felt the way they did about Elaine.
Robert, seeing how determined Tracy was, walked over and said, "Alright, if Trevon won't take you, I'll go with you."
He had his own plans-if Elaine had money, it wouldn't hurt to get some from her.
George and Sandra had spoiled Elaine, so she must have a fortune by now. Robert couldn't help feeling a little envious. The Yeats family's business had failed, and they needed funds to cover the losses.
Tracy wiped away the last of her tears, her resolve steely. "Alright, let's go together."
The moment they arrived at the Yeats family mansion, it was Graham who first took notice.
George and Sandra would never allow Elaine to have contact with people like them, no matter the
excuse. George had even made it clear that if they wanted something, they should go to him and Sandra directly-don't disturb their precious daughter's happiness.
No matter how much Robert and Tracy begged, they couldn't get an audience with Elaine. They were left standing at the gates, defeated and exhausted, but still clinging to a sliver of hope for a miracle. Finally, Graham emerged.
Tracy's eyes lit up with hope, but before she could speak, Graham interrupted. "I already know what you're here for," he said coldly. "You want money from Elaine. Well, forget it. With George and Sandra around, you won't get anywhere near her."
Robert's face fell as the light of hope in his eyes
dimmed.
Tracy, helpless, called out, "Dad..."
Graham's voice was cold as he said, "You don't need to say anything more."
"I warned you a long time ago-don't be so biased between Elaine and Bianca. But you never listened, always doing things. your own way. Now that things have gone wrong, you're back here asking Elaine to clean up your mess. As a mother, don't you have any conscience?
"How can you not be afraid of the consequences of what you're doing? If you had never come to Elaine in the first place, I'd at least respect you for having some dignity. But now? Coming here and shamelessly begging Elaine for money? It's hard for me to look at you with any respect."
"I've told you, there's karma. Jepson's inability to judge people clearly-it's his fate. You might be able to help him temporarily, but you can't save him forever. Whether he lives or dies, it's all up to his destiny." "Tracy, today is your karma playing out. Don't blame anyone else for this. Even if you stand here at this door until you die, it won't change a thing. You might as well just go home."
Tracy was left speechless, her face burning with embarrassment, but she had no rebuttal.
She knew deep down that her actions had been reckless, that she had chosen to favor Bianca without thinking about the consequences. Now, there was no turning back.
The humiliation she was enduring now felt like just the beginning.
Just then, the door opened.
To their shock, a servant appeared, carrying a bucket of foul-smelling water, which was promptly thrown over Robert and Tracy.

Tracy screamed, and when she looked up, she saw George and Sandra standing there.

Sandra's mouth was sharp and unforgiving, especially when it came to her former sister-in-law. "What are these filthy creatures doing here, begging at our doorstep? You stink!"
