Betrayed Luna's Fated Mate

I let Celeste sleep closer to morning, but I hadn't been able to find rest. I realized there was a lesson in my punishment too, which I hadn't seen until now. While I had always honored and appreciated Celeste, after being forbidden to touch her, I was once again reminded of the importance of my connection to her and how special our bond was. It was a lesson to remind me to always be loyal to Celeste and show her how much I cared for her every day. I smiled a little as I realized just how clever my alpha was, and I knew Jason had the best teacher he could ask for.

Celeste stirred a little later in the day, and I knew she was probably hungry, but I couldn't help but lean closer to her and kiss her lips. She moaned against me before I pulled back and smiled down at her. "Morning," I whispered.

"Not really morning anymore," she chuckled.

I turned to look at the clock, and she was right. We had long passed the morning.

"Well, I'm sure they all knew what was going to happen, the moment I could touch you," I chuckled, seeing her roll her eyes, but it just made me lean closer to her again and press my lips to hers. "I'm hungry," she reminded me.

"I will get us some food in a moment," I told her, and I kept contact with her lips, but it made her chuckle.

"Brendon, you will forget!"

"No, no, I will remember."

"We mated all night. Now I want some food."

"Hmmm..." was my reply as I leaned down and kissed her neck, but I couldn't ignore her other needs. I had to make sure she was fed. So finally, I pulled away and went to get dressed so I could fetch her some food.

When I came back, she had cleaned up and was dressed, which I didn't like. I hoped to spend the day in bed with her. I placed the tray with food on a little coffee table before I sat down. When she was close enough, I pulled her to my lap, and she chuckled happily.

"I can't eat like this," she said.

"Of course you can," I assured her, then picked up some bread and fed it to her.

She shook her head but conceded, taking a bite of the bread and then chewing it before asking for me. After feeding her, she fed me, and that's how our not-so-morning went. Once the food was cleared, I pressed her closer to me, burying my face in her neck and inhaling her wonderful scent.

"How about we get undressed again and go back to bed?" I growled.

"We can't stay the day in bed. You have training, and I would like to go out."

"I think that's a bad plan," I informed her, hearing her laugh again.

"Brendon, we will just end up mating the day away."

"Perfect!" I exclaimed, but she shook her head before kissing my cheek and then getting off my lap.

"Later tonight," she promised me as she went to get her shoes.

"I will hold you to that promise," I reminded her.

"Don't worry. I will not be able to stay away from you after being away for a few hours.

I knew she was right. The 24 hours had been hell, but it truly just took a few hours to drive us insane for each other, and we would be ripping each other's clothes off. It was actually a wonder we had any clothes left or weren't just naked all the time. But somehow we managed to act civil enough not to fuck all the time.

After Celeste had left, I had gone to training, working on the new warriors, when a pack member informed me that the alpha wanted to see me. I couldn't understand why. I had endured my punishment, or I might not have lasted the full 24 hours without that one minute, but I couldn't see how that would make him angry or need my presence to talk about. So why was he contacting me now? There was only one way to find out.

I walked back into the house and found the alpha in his office. He smiled when I entered, and so it couldn't be so bad.

"Alpha," I greeted and took my place in front of him.

"Brendon, you don't look so tired," he taunted me, making me smile a little. "But you did sleep in today."

I shook my head a little, but I knew he was just challenging me a little. He knew I had learned something from it all, as always, and it didn't need to be said.

"Is something wrong since you called me?" he asked.

"Something is."

I sighed.

"But not with you," he quickly answered.

"No?"

"The border control believes there was a breech last night."

"Was it handle?" I asked.

"No, because they aren't certain."

"How can they not be certain?" I questioned, but then the alpha raised an eyebrow, signaling to me why. "It's from one of the alliances."

Because of the bond we shared with the other packs in the area and the connections we had through deals and support, it allowed all pack members to cross without permission, but it also made their scents weaker to detection, meaning when someone crossed, it could be done without noticing.

"They must have known our routine," I pointed out.

"Yes, I believe so too."

"So we could have someone on our territory."

"I believe so."

My body went tight. The pack's security went to me, but I had been busy mating with Celeste, and therefore, I had been distracted. It was unacceptable, and I had to rectify it.

"I will find them," I assured my alpha.

"I know you will."

However, I didn't walk away right away, because the look the alpha was giving me made something very obvious to me, and he knew I had already thought the same.

"Can I say it out loud?" I asked.

"It's just us."

"It's Zack, isn't it?"

"I don't know why he has an obsession with Celeste, but I cannot imagine anyone bolder who would dare sneak in in the middle of the night," the alpha confirmed. "Which is why I will go rounds myself as well and look for him. He cannot hide here, and the moment I get my hands on that boy, I cannot promise his father he comes back in one piece."

I nodded, liking to hear that reply, when my alpha continued, "Do you have eyes on Celeste?"

"She said she wanted to go out today, so I believe she is with her friends outside the territory. I will double check and send someone to keep an eye on her."

"Good, it's better she stays away from the territory today. I want this place combed, do you understand?"

"I will have it done, Alpha."

"Good, then let's get to work."
