Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 491 It's So Nice To Have Met You

Jean was born to be simple and kind-hearted. Although she had a miserable childhood, her nature had not changed because of this. She still managed to stay good.

There's no doubt that being kind-hearted was good merit, but every coin has two sides. That is to say, it also did harm to Jean. A gentlewoman like her could easily be hurt by those who had bad ideas. For example, Joy had killed Jean's mother. Yet in the end, she chose to forgive her.

So, Jean was evidently a generous woman who would forgive her enemies as well.

What Jean had said just now was right. Now that she had married Zed, he would not give anybody a chance to hurt her.

The car smoothly entered into the courtyard of the Qi Family.

Jean came out of the car and stared at the towering and magnificent villa which was standing among the beautiful flowers.

At this view, Jean's heart was suddenly moved and there was a mixture of feelings. But she had no idea what prompted such strong feelings.

'Yes, the villa standing in front of me is my home.' she convinced herself.

She told herself this home would belong to Zed, her and their baby.

Zed walked up to her side and he instantly figured what Jean was thinking about. Her surprise and shock were evident to him.

Immediately, he put his arm around her and intended to relax her. "Darling, let's go inside!" he said with a smile forming on the corner of his mouth.

Jean couldn't help turning back to look at Zed. "Baby, I am lucky to have met you. It's you who have brought me such a good life," she replied with a sweet smile on her face.

Hearing Jean's words, Zed was moved and he felt so happy. "Baby, I love you," he whispered in her ear.

"I love you too," Jean replied with a faint show of shyness on her face.

"Hey, look at you two! How can you confess your love for each other in front of me? Maybe it's better for you to go inside and talk about this in private." Here came a playful voice from behind. Jean and Zed turned to see Zack who was laughing out loud. Jean felt so shy when she saw Zack and a scarlet glow spread across her face. She quickly let go of Zed's hand and separated herself from him.

Noticing Jean's reaction, Zed immediately reached out his hand to grab her hand. He stared at Zack with a trace of displeasure on his face. "Why are you here? I don't remember inviting you here."

"Sorry to tell you that it is my right to come here. I don't need your invitation. Besides, I have to remind you that I came here to meet your parents. Hence it's none of your business. Do you hear me?" Zack swaggered up to Zed with his eyes fixated on Jean. He looked up and down at her, and then he said with laughter, "It's been a long time since we met. Our last meeting was at the airport. How's everything going with you, Jean?"

"Yes, I'm doing fine. Thank you so much for your concern, Zack," she replied. Jean had regained her composure by now.

"Hey, when did you two become so close? You can't just ignore me, okay?" Zed said. Zed found that he was being ignored by Jean and Zack. Jealousy sparked through his heart.

Hearing Zed's words, Jean just noticed that she had busied herself greeting Zack. She felt guilty about neglecting him. But when she saw Zed's sullen face, she couldn't help a suppressed giggle.

"Wait, wait, wait! What did you say just now? Come on, Zed. You are jealous, aren't you? It's so funny! Okay, listen. I was just greeting Jean. How come you are jealous so easily?" Zack felt so surprised at Zed's excited reaction, so he asked him with astonishment. He didn't think Zed was a jealous type of husband.

Zed felt so awkward after hearing Zack's words. "Okay, now that you have come here to meet my parents, just come in with us," Zed said in a polite tone. He continued, "Since you haven't come after such a long time, why not stay for dinner tonight and have a good chat with them?"

"That would be a good idea," Zack nodded his head and said. "It's been a long time since I had Aunt Jade's hand-made dishes. It's so delicious and I miss it very much."

Hearing Zack's words, Jean was a little bit surprised. She didn't know that Zack and Zed were good mates. Knowing that he knew Zed's mom so well surprised her very much.

After entering the living room, they found no one except Sean, who was sitting alone on the sofa watching TV. He nodded his head toward Zed and Jean when he saw them enter, but he instantly placed his focus back on the TV. "Father, where's my mother?" Zed asked him.

"She is preparing fruit in the kitchen. The second she heard Zack is coming, she started her preparation," Sean answered Zed with his eyes fixated on TV.

Not seeing Moore anywhere around, Jean's eyes started searching for him. She felt so worried about him when she realized he was nowhere around..

"Zack, help yourself, please. I'm going upstairs to change." After Jean finished her words, she looked at Zed, hinting him to take good care of Zack. Without wasting any time, she ran upstairs.

Zed watched Jean going upstairs until she disappeared out of his sight.

Jean went to the second floor and she still didn't see Moore. The corridor was empty and it made her get more and more anxious.

She quickened her pace to the other side of the corridor and came to Moore's door. She reached out her hand and gently knocked on the door.

Soon there came Moore's voice from the room. "Come in, please."

Jean finally felt relieved when she heard Moore's voice. 'Luckily, he is still here!' Jean thought to herself.

Just now, it indeed made her anxious when she didn't see Moore's presence. She was worried that he might have left the Qi Family without informing her.

Opening the door, Jean found Moore was sitting on the balcony and reading a book under the sun. "I didn't see you when I came back just now. I thought that you were sleeping in your room," she explained in a hurry. Jean walked up to Moore and sat by his side. She looked at him with a sweet smile.

Moore looked up from the book. Just by looking at Jean he figured out what Jean was thinking about. Bravely, he said, "No, Jean. You thought I left the Qi family without your knowledge!"

Jean's face suddenly showed some trace of embarrassment after hearing his words. She felt like she was caught red-handed.

"Jean, relax. Don't be so worried about me, okay? I'm fine. Now that I have promised to stay here, I will never leave without informing you," Moore looked at Jean and said with a keen voice. "So, don't worry about me, okay?" "OK." Jean rested assured after hearing Moore's promise. She said happily, "Since you have promised that you won't leave until you have fully recovered, you can't break your promise."

"No, I won't." Moore nodded his head quickly when he saw that Jean was extremely concerned about him.

Jean couldn't help but burst into laughter when she saw Moore's serious expression.

"Trust me! I won't let anybody hurt you again,"

Jean promised.

Although Jean said it with a smile, she still felt very heavy in her heart.

'Jean, I know what you are worried about. But I'm afraid that I will only bring you more trouble if I stay here.

Now that the trouble has already been caused, I have an obligation to stay here and help you solve it.

Besides, I don't want to make you worry about me anymore, 'Moore thought to himself.

"Let's go downstairs! Zed's friend is here. Let me introduce you to each other." Jean stood up as she said this.

Moore looked at Jean with a trace of hesitation on his face, and then he said, "Jean, I don't want to go downstairs. You know that I don't like to deal with people that I'm not familiar with."

"Come on, Moore. I have never imagined that you are afraid to meet strangers!" Jean felt a little bit astonished when she was refused by him.

Moore laughed bitterly when he heard Jean's words. "Jean, you have misunderstood me. I'm not afraid of meeting strangers. But I hate dealing with them. Do you understand?"

"No way. You must come downstairs with me today." Jean continued to persuade Moore. "You're going to meet each other sooner or later. So you can't just hide in your room. I don't know what Zack would think of you if he knew that you were hiding here. So just come with me, okay?" "Zack? Is he that friend of Zed which you have mentioned?" Moore asked with surprise.

"Yes, Zack. He has a good relationship with the Qi Family and he is also Zed's good friend. He will be staying for dinner today. Besides, my mother-in-law will cook for us. So, don't keep hiding here. You can't avoid meeting him today. You'd better come with me. It's okay. Don't be restrained. I'm not familiar with Zack, either. Anyway, I believe that you can get along well with each other,"

Jean promised Moore, wanting to comfort him. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
