I roll my eyes and go downstairs to make supper.

Present

Before I can start dinner, Kyle rushes downstairs.

-Don't make supper, I'm taking you out tonight.

He comes up to me and whispers in my ear:

You've got twenty minutes to get ready.

Irun off to take a shower and get dressed in a tight black dress.

-Maeva!

I go downstairs and when I reach Kyle, his jaw is on the floor.

“You look beautiful, as always.

Ilook him up and down, he's dressed in black trousers and a white shirt, his sleeves rolled up and his hair a mess. -I think you look very sexy in that outfit, I hope the other females don't notice!

With a smile on his face, he whispers in my ear:

-Don't worry, sweetheart, 'm only yours and you're only mine.

We kiss and leave for the restaurant, which I have to admit is magnificent and very romantic too.

-Can I help you?

Yes, a reservation for Kyle James.

The boy bows his head in submission and a smirk appears on his lips. I nudge him, but he glares at me.

-If you'd like to come with me, Alpha and Luna.

We follow the young man and arrive at a table where there's no-one else, with a breathtaking view of the sea. “Your waiter will be here in a few minutes, so I'll leave you to look at the menu.

Then he leaves.

Just because you're one of the most feared alphas doesn't mean you have to smile when someone submits to you! -Nobody stands up to me!

He stands up and approaches me.

-Even you my love.

-A duel?

-I'm not going to hit my wife!

A smile spreads across his angelic face.

~The duel will take place the day after the ceremony.

He grunts.

-I love hearing it come out of your mouth.

I80 up to his ear.

-What? The James.

I dip my gaze into his and we can see from a mile away that his eyes are filled with desire. The waitress arrives and when she sees Kyle looking at me like that, she smiles. She must be in her fifties, she approaches me and says:

“You're lucky, it's not every day you see a man looking at you like that.

She takes our orders and leaves.

-Can I ask you a question?

Yes?" I say, arching an eyebrow.

~How long does your period last?

laugh.

~Can't hold it in James?

He grunts louder.

“You're doing that on purpose!

-Maybe I am.

-Answer my question.

-About two days.

-Isn't it usually five or six?

You went to a human school, right?

He nods.

-It stank everywhere!

Wolves and humans don't have the same cycle, we have two months and it lasts two days.

What's wrong with that?

-Are you really stupid or what? What did you do when your parents talked to you about this?

-You don’t want to know what I was thinking.

Iroll my eyes.

-Wolves get pregnant much more easily than humans, so we need fewer eggs. Every time a wolf has unprotected s*x, she's 98% sure she'll get pregnant, whereas a human goes through ovulation and blah, blah, blah.

-Right, then.

We eat and then Kyle carries me down to the beach, I say carries because he's been carrying me in his arms the whole way. We sit down in the sand, me between Kyle's legs.

It's beautiful, the smell of the sea and everything.

I smile.

-We should get back, we've got a big day tomorrow.

I nod and we head home.

-'m going to have a bath.

Kyle's phone rings and he answers it, leaving for his office without giving me a glance. I go upstairs and run my bath, and when it's ready, I get in and close my eyes. Suddenly, arms come around my waist and pin me against a chest. I jump and turn to see Kyle.

“You've got a perfect body.

I blush and cover my cheeks with my hands, Kyle takes my hands and places them on his chest.

-What are you doing here?

-I came to spend some time with my sweetheart.

-We've already had a moment together Kyle.

Yes, but tomorrow we're hardly going to see each other, because after the ceremony I'm leaving for three days. -Right after?

“No, I have to leave here around three in the morning, my plane leaves at six.

-Why do you want to do that?

-I have to go and sort things out with my company in New York.

-oh, well...

-I know you don’t want to, sweetheart, but I've got no choice.

I get out of the bath and wrap myself in a towel.

-I understand Kyle, there's no need to explain.

I head for the dressing room and grab some underwear as well as a pair of shorts and a jumper.

-Maeva...

-Stop it, Kyle!

I leave our room and head for the guest room, shutting the door and using my powers to block it so that no-one can get in. I don't mind Kyle leaving, but I get the feeling he’s hiding something from me...

-Maeva, open the door!

-I don't want to talk to you.

The banging on the door increases.

-What's wrong, Maeva?

I hear him huff and puff and head for our bedroom, close my eyes and fall asleep. When I wake up, I go downstairs for breakfast, I haven't slept very well, in fact I haven't slept all night. I'm angry with him because he’s leaving me after something very important, the first few days as Luna can be very difficult and he's leaving.

After breakfast, I go into our bedroom where Kyle is still asleep and get dressed for training. When I come out of the dressin: room, Kyle is lying on the bed looking up at the ceiling.

-'m going to be in the training room.

He looks up and nods, I hate being on the fence with him. I head to the training room and work out with the help of josh, my best friend, who is also Kyle's best friend.

-What's going on, babe?

Nothing, don’t worry.

“Tonight's the big day, are you ready?

~I've never been ready for anything like this.

You'll make a great Luna and I'll be there for you.

~Thanks Josh, how are things going with Léna?

Very well, we found out yesterday that she’s pregnant.

-0h, congratulations. I'm so happy for you both.

-How are things with you and Kyle?
