Chapter ch 85

He had to come up with something impressive, something beautiful because his father was right, this would be his last marriage proposal and it had to be perfect. So Zack rented the same cabin where they had stayed at Christmas, the place where they had both spent some wonderful days. He made all the necessary arrangements to prepare the perfect setting. He knew that Andrea would love the memories they had there, especially the relaxed and romantic atmosphere of the place. Once everything was ready, he left Adriana with the grandparents and stopped by a flower shop. Hope and nervousness combined with his excitement as he wrote that note for Andrea. It was very s@xy to ask her out of town, and sending her the invitation with a dozen red roses was even better. He was so anxious that he almost followed the boy to the house, but instead he stood his ground and went to the office, to get everything ready so that neither of them would have to come back for two or three days. He signed some pending documents and before he left his assistant stopped at the door. —Excuse me, Mr. Keller, but there’s a young lady outside who insists on seeing you. She says it’s urgent —she murmured and Zack shrugged. —Sure, no problem —he replied after looking at his watch, because he was about ten minutes ahead. However, the person who came through that door wiped the smile off his face in a second. —What do you want? —was his curt greeting and Giselle took off her coat to put it aside. —Wow, it seems that “tell me who you hang out with” is true…! —she hissed angrily. Haven’t you picked up anything else from the dead fly you hang out with other than her lack of education? Zack tensed up upon hearing her, but took a deep breath, because he wasn’t going to fall into a useless confrontation with Giselle, that would be giving her more attention than she deserved. Thanks for reading on LeeNovelas.com. —My dead fly gives me exactly everything I need —he said with a smile. Do you need anything else, or can you go find someone to pay attention to you somewhere else? Giselle gritted her teeth in a helpless gesture. “Well, the only person I want to pay attention to me is you.” “Well, that’s not going to be possible, darling, because I’m already busy for the rest of my life. But I wish you good luck finding someone who can put up with you,” she hissed angrily. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’ll deeply appreciate it if you get out of my office and, above all, out of my life.” For a long minute they looked at each other with something very similar to hatred, but then Giselle sketched a smile that didn’t leave Zack at all calm. “You’ll see, honey… that’s going to be very difficult, because now more than ever, you yourself are not going to want me away from you,” she assured as she walked around him, swaying. “This conversation only has one ending, Zack: you leaving the dead fly and coming back with me. Because the other option, I assure you, you’re not going to like it. Remember.” Read this novel only at LeeNovelas.com, not on other sites. Zack was speechless,Remembering every word of warning from Andrea: Giselle was up to something, and he would soon discover that not only were there no coincidences, but that Giselle had made sure that she could destroy his entire future with the woman he loved before walking through that door. And the worst of all was that the woman he loved was already on her way to the date. Andrea had received that bouquet of roses with her heart racing and had melted with love at the note. Zack was too sweet when he proposed it and she could sense that tonight would be their night, the moment when they would finally decide that they wanted to be together forever. When she arrived it was almost dusk. The cabin was dimly lit and rose petals were everywhere. In the living room, small colored lights were reflected in the mirrors everywhere. Andrea could not believe her eyes. She felt absolutely amazed. Zack had prepared a romantic evening to celebrate their love and she felt as if she were in a fairy tale. It was the perfect place for a night of love, everything was ready, only Zack was missing. Every minute that passed seemed more intense and endless. Andrea anxiously awaited his arrival but he did not appear. An hour later she began to worry. Two hours later, Andrea called him non-stop and he did not answer. Anxious was an understatement. She was about to give up and go back to the city to look for him when she finally saw the lights of his truck park nearby and Zack come through the door, with his hair disheveled from touching it so much and a visibly altered expression. “Zack! Love, what happened?” Andrea asked scared, running to hug him. He held her tighter than ever and then took a deep breath to look her in the eyes. “I’m sorry, cupcake, I don’t have good news,” he murmured. “Why? What are you talking about?” she asked him. Zack looked around and a growl of frustration came from his chest. “Tonight I planned to ask you to be my wife,” he said with a sigh. Andrea stood there stunned, not knowing what to say. Zack smiled sadly, walked over to her and kissed her cheek. “But I can’t do that anymore, Andrea. I can’t marry you.” Andrea felt her legs getting weak and had to lean on a nearby piece of furniture to keep from falling to the floor. “What…? What are you saying, Zack? Why…?”the moment when they would finally decide that they wanted to be together forever. When she arrived it was almost dusk. The cabin was dimly lit and rose petals were everywhere. Why…?”“Because you were right, nothing was a coincidence. Giselle looked for me a while ago,” he replied and Andrea felt her heart stop. It was no coincidence that she was in that building. She was preparing her trap and now she is preventing us from getting married… “What did she do? How can she prevent us from getting married?” Andrea asked confused. “It’s a long story, but suffice it to say that she is not going to let this happen… at least not now.” Andrea was silent for a long time, trying to assimilate the blow that she already knew was coming next. “Talk, Zack, tell me everything. Now!” He felt a lump in his throat, but he was not willing to hide anything from her anymore. He filled her in on everything, absolutely everything that Giselle had told him, her threats and especially her demands. “Get back with her?! Is this a f***ing joke?!” Andrea roared. That shameless, shameless, hypocritical bitch wants you back with her? “Look, I’ll put her through the wood chipper first!” Zack smiled at her emotional outburst, both of them worried and scared. “Listen, that’s not going to happen…” “Of course it’s not going to happen! I’ll wash your mouth out with bleach if you just kiss that woman again, Zack! I swear!” she replied. Zack pulled her hand and made her sit on his lap on the couch. “You won’t need to do that, Cupcake, because I’m not going to play along with Giselle,” he told her. “I’m willing to face the consequences of what I did, and I’m prepared for justice if necessary. But I won’t leave you, I couldn’t stand it. No matter what Giselle says or how much pressure she tries to put on the two of us, I’ll still never leave you again, no matter what happens.” “There’s no way to fix this situation, Zack,” she murmured. “Not while…” “Of course there is! Trust me, together we can get through this if we stick together.” —No… —Andrea stood up and breathed, determination reflected on her face—. We’re not going to do it because right now our relationship is officially over. Zack swallowed while his heart raced, but when Andrea made a decision it was very difficult to change her mind. An hour later and feeling the most helpless of his life, Zack took his suitcase out of Andrea’s house for the third time. —This is already becoming a damn habit. At this rate I might as well buy a camper to sleep on the road —he growled under his breath while thinking about the tortuous road they would have ahead of them.
