You, Me and Our Genius Twins

Chapter 383

Chapter 383

Andrew and the others drank the wine Quincy and Joel poured for them courteously while the kids stood side by side and finished a glass of juice with them like miniature adults.

As Andrew and the others liked them, they kept talking with them.

Lucas pulled Joel into his arms, then passed him and Quincy a menu each. "Are you hungry? Tell me what you want, and I'll order for you."

Joel's eyes lit up brightly. "May I eat anything?"

Lucas chuckled and nodded. "Yes."

Joel's eyes sparkled in excitement as he blurted, "Uncle Lucas, I would like fried chicken, burger, and fries!"

Lucas was dumbfounded by his simple request and said, "Let me tell you, Buddy. The food in my club is really delicious, and they taste much better than any fried chicken, burger, or fries! I'll recommend a few to you, and you can try them. If you think it's not good, we'll order fried chicken and the others as you want, okay?"

"I see…" Joel nodded. "That's great, too!"

"Good!" Lucas ruffled his hair, then turned on the electronic screen on the tabletop and placed the order for all the signature foods, which he thought were delicious.

When he had ordered too much, Joel cried out, "That's too much, Uncle Lucas! Way too much! It will be

a waste if we can't finish it! Mommy said that food is precious and we shouldn't waste it!"

"It's okay," Lucas assured. "All the others are gluttons who can eat a lot. They will finish it."

"Hey!" Andrew gave him a slap and added, "You're the glutton!"

Jesse smiled as he said to Sebastian, "Seb, your sons are so cute! Cute and sensible! Lucas is right. You're a lucky man. I must really hand it to you!"

"For what?" he asked in amusement.

"For this!" Jesse pointed at the kids and said, "At first, all of us were bachelors, but you suddenly have a stunning wife and also two smart and adorable sons, dashing ahead of us in life by miles!"

After he looked at Madeline, he shifted his gaze to Quincy and Joel and nodded in agreement. "That's true."

Being humble is a virtue, honey! Madeline thought.

While this room was filled with laughter and everyone was having a great time, in the room right beneath them on one level below, Caitlin was dressed in the waitress uniform of Club Tempest and was preparing for work.

Actually, she wasn't a waitress here, but she was just here to stand in for someone. Her roommate, Josephine, didn't come from a wealthy family, and she had been working here since graduation. Last summer break, Caitlin had taken up a summer job in this club for two months to accompany her friend

and for the fun of it.

Today, after she had just arrived in Dusktown, she received a text from her roommate saying that she was running a fever and her throat was hurting so bad that she couldn't speak. Unfortunately, the club was bustling today and lacked staffing, so she couldn't take the day off and had to find someone to stand in for her.

Her roommate asked her if she could help her out, and Caitlin agreed without a second thought because they were good friends.

The team leader remembered her and had a good impression of her. In addition, she was easygoing, so she didn't cause any trouble for Caitlin and her roommate, immediately agreeing to let Caitlin take over the shift.

When Caitlin was working in the club during summer break, her family had yet to go bankrupt, and when summer was over, she bought the uniform as a souvenir, which was put to good use tonight.

She had always been brilliant with excellent memory, so she could still remember all the procedures despite not working in this club for a long time. The team leader worried that she wouldn't be familiar with the workflow and mess things up as a stand-in, so she even came to check on her. Regardless, when she saw that she was working deftly, she praised her and left to supervise the others.

After she was finished with prep work, she waited a few minutes before some women who were dressed to the nines came walking into the room, chatting and giggling amongst themselves.

The person walking at the frontmost paused for a second after seeing Caitlin and said loudly in excitement, "Huh? Isn't this the Young Mistress of the Owen Family? Even though your family is

bankrupt, you're still better off than average families, Miss Caitlin. Do you really have to come here to be a waitress?"

Meanwhile, Caitlin frowned when she saw the people who had just entered. Enemies always run into each other, for sure. Dusktown is so huge, and I'm just here to take Josephine's shift for an evening, but I could actually run into my ex-classmates.

They were her ex-classmates because she dropped out of school after her family went bankrupt and her parents passed away. So for quite some time, she hadn't met the people standing right in front of her.

Heidi Zahler, Yvette Janick, Xandria Lyford, and Andrea Waybright; all four of them were her mortal enemies.

Despite calling them her mortal enemies, there was no actual feud between them. Yet, before she dropped out of school, within the short period of six months after she enrolled, she was publicly recognized as the belle of the school.

Heidi was one year older than her, so she was her senior. Thus, before Caitlin was voted as the belle, the title was held by Heidi. After Caitlin took over her as the new belle, Heidi resented her, and both of them gradually sowed a seed of enmity.

Fortunately, Heidi's family background wasn't as wealthy as hers at the time, so even though she had a grudge against her, she was never hostile to her until Caitlin's family went bankrupt and her parents passed away. Then, when she was in school to prepare to leave school, Heidi finally had the guts to provoke her in her face.

Although Coitlin's fomily wos bonkrupt ond she hod lost everything with the possing of her porents, she couldn't chonge her houghty personolity overnight becouse she wos brought up os o young lody of o weolthy fomily since she wos young. Hence, when Heidi provoked her, she snopped bock ot her mercilessly, leoving Heidi with nothing to show for herself.

Furthermore, she wos populor in school, ond the student body wosn't oll like Heidi. Just becouse her fomily wos bonkrupt ond she wos in dire stroits, they didn't wotch silently os Heidi bullied her. In controst, they pitied ond sympothized with her, frowning upon Heidi, who wos throwing solt oll over Coitlin's wound.

In the school, there wos no lock of students from better fomilies thon Heidi's, ond they disliked her woys. So, they stepped up ond spoke up for Coitlin, denouncing Heidi severely. Despite Heidi coming in high spirits, she hod to leove in defeot; fleeing in emborrossment ofter she wos given o horsh dressing down.

Since then, Coitlin hodn't seen Heidi, ond the lost thing she could imogine wos running into her under such circumstonces todoy.

Coitlin didn't even need to use her broin to expect Heidi would moke things difficult for her, but she hod too much on her mind ond wosn't interested in wosting her time on the likes of Heidi. So, she simply wolked post her ond heoded for the door.

She wosn't plonning to skip the shift, ond since she hod promised to toke the shift for Josephine, she shouldn't mess things up.

Actuolly, she plonned to osk the teom leoder for o chonge of room. But, given the unpleosont post between her ond Heidi, if she didn't leove, it wouldn't be long before choos broke out in the room.

Just os before, olthough she wos in dire stroits now, she couldn't chonge her personolity for more thon two decodes within o short time.

If Heidi picked on her, she wouldn't toke it lying down, ond once they storted o heoted orgument, there would be no room to moke things better. At thot time, she might even get Josephine in trouble ond get her fired. Therefore, leoving would be the best option.

Unfortunotely, Heidi wouldn't let her leove even though she wonted to.

A few quick steps loter, Heidi stopped her in her poth. "Miss Coitlin, don't go! I would never hove imogined thot the belle of our school would be so down ond out thot she hod to be o woitress in o club. Whot o joke!"

Behind her, Yvette, Xondrio, ond Andreo loughed mockingly.

Although Caitlin's family was bankrupt and she had lost everything with the passing of her parents, she couldn't change her haughty personality overnight because she was brought up as a young lady of a wealthy family since she was young. Hence, when Heidi provoked her, she snapped back at her mercilessly, leaving Heidi with nothing to show for herself.

Furthermore, she was popular in school, and the student body wasn't all like Heidi. Just because her family was bankrupt and she was in dire straits, they didn't watch silently as Heidi bullied her. In contrast, they pitied and sympathized with her, frowning upon Heidi, who was throwing salt all over Caitlin's wound.

In the school, there was no lack of students from better families than Heidi's, and they disliked her ways. So, they stepped up and spoke up for Caitlin, denouncing Heidi severely. Despite Heidi coming in high spirits, she had to leave in defeat; fleeing in embarrassment after she was given a harsh dressing down.

Since then, Caitlin hadn't seen Heidi, and the last thing she could imagine was running into her under such circumstances today.

Caitlin didn't even need to use her brain to expect Heidi would make things difficult for her, but she had too much on her mind and wasn't interested in wasting her time on the likes of Heidi. So, she simply walked past her and headed for the door.

She wasn't planning to skip the shift, and since she had promised to take the shift for Josephine, she shouldn't mess things up.

Actually, she planned to ask the team leader for a change of room. But, given the unpleasant past between her and Heidi, if she didn't leave, it wouldn't be long before chaos broke out in the room.

Just as before, although she was in dire straits now, she couldn't change her personality for more than two decades within a short time.

If Heidi picked on her, she wouldn't take it lying down, and once they started a heated argument, there would be no room to make things better. At that time, she might even get Josephine in trouble and get her fired. Therefore, leaving would be the best option.

Unfortunately, Heidi wouldn't let her leave even though she wanted to.

A few quick steps later, Heidi stopped her in her path. "Miss Caitlin, don't go! I would never have imagined that the belle of our school would be so down and out that she had to be a waitress in a club. What a joke!"

Behind her, Yvette, Xandria, and Andrea laughed mockingly.
