You, Me and Our Genius Twins

Chapter 239

Chapter 239

Sebastian's gaze was flat, but it was enough for the color to drain from Queenie's face as she broke out in cold sweat.

It compelled her to speak, so she forced a smile as she stammered, "K-Kids are just kids. They don't know any better. I-I'll get him to apologize to y-your son at once."

Queenie did not know what Sebastian looked like, but Madeline's son had called this man Daddy, and he was the most handsome and refined man she had ever seen, so it was obvious who he was.

The man in front of her right now was Sebastian Hart, the heir of the Harts, and the person who struck fear in the hearts of most people.

While she might have the guts to meet up with Isabel and talk smack about Madeline behind her back, she did not dare say a single ill word about Sebastian, not even in private.

Her limbs went numb, and she slapped her son, hard. "Hurry up and apologize to your classmate!"

Jayden was Queenie's only child, and just like she said earlier, he had never been hit by anyone before. Queenie was stricken with fear, so she ended up slapping Jayden a lot harder than she meant to.

Jayden yelped in pain. He pushed Queenie away and wailed, "You're the one who said it! You said that Quincy and Joel are b*stards born out of wedlock, and sooner or later, their father was going to throw them out with the trash, or even if he didn't, they would be subservient to the other children that were born after his marriage. You said it! You're the one who said all these things! How can you hit me?!"

His shrill cries were clear for all to hear, and when Joel heard those comments, he tightened his grip around Sebastian and looked up at him apprehensively. "Daddy?"

"It's okay. Don't be afraid. He's a naughty boy who doesn't know what he's saying," Sebastian assured Joel with a gentle voice. He wrapped his arms around the little boy and carried him up before patting him on the back. "Do you believe your daddy or the naughty boy who fought with you?"

"I believe you, Daddy!" Joel clutched Sebastian by the neck and refused to let go.

Sebastian kissed Joel on the forehead before looking him in the eyes and promising, "You're my son. You're my treasure. I'll always love you, protect you, and I'll never abandon you. You trust me, right?"

"I trust you, Daddy!" Joel tightened his grip around Sebastian and buried his face against his neck.

Sebastian felt his heart surge with love. He kissed Joel on the forehead once more before turning to Madeline. "Let's go."

Before Madeline could say anything, Leigh piped up with a frown. "We're leaving just like this?"

Sebastian glanced at her and added coolly, "Don't worry. I won't let them get away with this."

However, he was not going to stand around and demand justice from Queenie.

She was not worth his time.

Madeline nodded and bent down to carry Quincy.

Quincy struggled to get away. "Mommy, I can walk by myself."

Sebastian looked over at the two of them and said, "Let Quinton carry him."

Quinton, who had been outside the nurse's office awaiting orders, came in immediately once he heard Sebastian.

"I don't need anyone to carry me," Quincy huffed.

He was not a childish little boy like Joel.

He was a big boy who could walk by himself!

Quinton chuckled and stretched his arms out. "Little young master, I've been longing to hold you in my arms for quite some time now. Please let me hold you just this once."

It sounded like a joke, but he meant it too.

He found the two children adorable and wished he could hold them, but he never found the right opportunity.

Since he was ordered to carry Quincy today, he was determined to seize this chance!

However, Quincy turned away and held strong. "I don't want to be carried. I'll walk by myself."

Quinton had a grin on his face as came straight over to take Quincy out of Madeline's arms and into his own. "Little young master, just this once, please? I really want to hold you."

Madeline was speechless.

Why does Quinton sound like he's trying to flirt with a girl?

Quinton had a cheerful smile on his face, but there was nothing but respect in his gaze, expression, and mannerism as he carried Quincy.

Queenie had seen everything, and she trembled even harder now.

The position that Madeline and her two sons held in the Hart family was nothing like what she had assumed.

All along, she thought that the Harts simply did not want to see children of their bloodline uncared for, so that was why they brought Madeline and her two sons into the family. Whenever she met up with Isabel, Isabel would curse that Madeline was a scheming b*tch, that her two sons were b*stard children, and that sooner or later, the Harts would disown the children and chase all three of them out of the house. After hearing these comments time and time again, she took them as fact.

Queenie believed that Madeline and her two sons were like parasites leeching onto the Harts, and once Sebastian took a wife, all three of them would be thrown out of the house and abandoned by the Harts.

However, now that she witnessed everything with her own eyes, she realized how wrong she was.

She had fallen for Isabel's lies.

Parasites leeching onto the Harts?

B*stard children?

It was clear for all to see that Sebastian treated the two children like the most precious things in the world. When he looked at them, his expression was full of love and adoration.

He did not even seem like a strict father, but one that would spoil the children rotten.

It finally dawned on Queenie that she made a terrible mistake.

As soon as she figured this out, she could not stand still any longer. She stumbled over to Sebastian and the others who had already walked out of the nurse's office. "Mr. Hart, please wait a moment!"

She caught up to them and blocked their exit before apologizing in a trembling voice, "I'm sorry, Mr. Hart. My son made a huge blunder! He's young and doesn't know any better, so he said something he shouldn't have. Please don't take it to heart. I'll be sure to teach him a lesson when we get home, and I'll make him apologize to your sons!"

Sebastian's eyes swept over to her for a moment, but he did not wish to bother with her at all.

Quinton raised his hand, and several bodyguards immediately came over to push her aside.

Queenie was even more terrified.

All she could think of was, We're doomed!

The Shrivers were a moneyed family with some influence in Dusktown, but comparing them to Hart Corporation would be like comparing a candle's flame to the sun.

All Sebastian had to do was say the word, and the Shrivers would vanish from Dusktown at once.

It would be the end of her life of luxury.

Since Sebastian did not pay her any attention, she turned to Madeline and pleaded, "Mrs. Hart, I made a mistake. Please find it in you to be gracious and forgive me. My son is too young to know better, so he said some foolish things. I will make sure he apologizes to your sons in person. Please forgive us just this once. I beg you, please!"

Madeline paused in her footsteps and turned around to look at her. "Do you still think this is all your son's fault?"

Queenie froze for a second before adding in a rush, "I'm sorry! It's all my fault! I shouldn't have said such nonsense in front of him. I-I was just kidding around. Please be gracious enough to forgive me."

Madeline stared at her and said, "If your actions only hurt me, I might have chosen to forgive you, but your actions have hurt my sons, so I will never forgive you."

Anyone who hurt her children was her nemesis, and she would never forgive them for it!

"No, no, no!" Queenie pleaded frantically. She was so distraught that she almost kneeled in front of Madeline. "I'm really sorry. I know I made a terrible mistake. I'll never do it again. I'll do anything you

want to make it up to you. Just say the word and I'll do it."

Madeline was about to say something when a thought occurred to Quincy and he cut in. "Mommy, I have something to tell you."
