Chapter Council
She got up without further explanation and came back with a shoe box, she opened it slowly and took out a glass, and a knife with dry soap, wrapped in cloths.
“I kept the glass that Joseph drank just before the attack and the knife, I don’t even know why I kept it, maybe it was a call from the Goddess of the Moon, and it was for you to use now.” Judy said with a smile.
“But why didn’t you present this to the council before?” Jack asked trying to hide the tears in his eyes.
“I am an exile Jack, the council doesn’t care about us, they would never listen to my plea.” She said with pain in her words.
“We can take this, maybe we’ll try to talk to the council, investigate this further.” I said looking at Jack and looking at the box.
‘I’m also an outcast now Luna, I don’t know if they would listen to me.’ Jack said with his head down.
’First that the council doesn’t know this yet, and second that if you don’t go, I will, I’m still part of the Pack, and granddaughter of two alphas, they need to listen to me. I will make it happen. One way or another.” The way my voice came out, tight and confident, was something I didn’t even expect.
“You’re right, let’s try to work this out.” Jack said now getting up.
“Go my darlings, take it with you, maybe we have some hope of doing justice for your grandfather.” Judy said closing the box and handing it to us.
“Come on Jack we can’t waste time.” I said getting up too.
“It was nice meeting you Judy, we hope to be back here with good news.” I said goodbye to Judy with a hug.
“The pleasure was mine my dear….” She turned to Jack. “And you, my nephew, became quite a man, handsome, you would have been such a wonderful alpha, may the Goddess of the Moon have illuminated your path, and if it is for you to do this justice, may this path be fulfilled. The Goddess has already placed Quite a companion in your life my dear, she is a Luna without a doubt.”
Jack kissed his aunt on the cheek and we walked to the car.
“What does she mean by, “she’s a Luna”.” I asked, my name was Luna, what do you mean, she’s a Luna.
“It’s an old term for the alpha female, I think your parents named you Luna as they somehow already knew.” Jack told me smiling.
We drove straight to the council, it was a long drive and in a few moments of silence I could almost hear Jack’s apprehensive thoughts. After a few hours, we arrived at a strangely familiar forest, which was very reminiscent of the forests of our Pack, followed a very beautiful road with pine trees, until we reached iron gates full of arabesques and with many guards around who surrounded the car when we arrived. .
“Beta Eastwood, are you with someone, is your visit scheduled?” One of the guards asked Jack.
“It wasn’t scheduled, but it’s an emergency….” Jack paused and as if I felt a pop in his brain he asked. “Is Lucca there?”
“The companion, who would that be?” The guard insisted.
“It’s Luna Claumman, granddaughter of Hughes, and my mate.”
“Oh yes, I’m sorry, I’ll check if Lucca is there, but you can go in, and wait in the hall.”
We entered the car through the gates, and went to the main entrance, the place looked like an old castle, everything was classic and beautiful, we entered the hall, always full of many guards everywhere, the floor was marble, the walls had boiseries, and I don’t remember ever being in such a fancy place before.
“Who’s Lucca?”
“It’s an old friend, he’s from our Pack, we grew up together and he really wanted to work on the council, Hughes talked and got him a place here, his job it's like a council detective, we don’t talk much, but I think he could be a contact.”
A man crossed the room, he was tall and thin, had dark hair, and a striking look, he had a longer beard and was wearing a full black suit, and a kind of vest, he reminded me of a policeman, mainly due to his imposing posture.
“Jack?”
The man said on the other side of the hall, so he took a few long steps, and Jack stood up, the two hugged tightly.
“Man, how long.” Jack said as he gripped Lucca’s arms as he pushed back and looked into his eyes. Lucca replied with a smile, but then his eyes turned to me.
I got up and extended my hand to him.
“This is Luna Claumman, my mate.” Jack said smiling.
“What man? Did you have your Soulmeet? It’s about time” Lucca said as he shook my hand. “Nice to meet you.”
Lucca smiled at me.
“Clauman?.” he then asked confused.
“I’m Hughes’s granddaughter.” I said.
“Oh yeah, wow, you weren’t in the Pack when I left, you were raised by humans weren’t you?”
“Yes, I’m still getting to know this world.” I replied looking around at the council building, or castle, I don’t even know how to describe it.
“But what brings you here?” Lucca answered with a smile still on her face, and suddenly Jack’s expression turned serious.
“Do we have a more private place to talk?” Jack asked
"Sure, let’s go to my office.” Lucca said as she led us into a room not far away.
