Mercer continued to walk toward Calla, and she continued to move back.

His warm breath brushed against her skin and caused her to panic.

“Mr. Garland, we’re at the office right now,” Calla reminded him loudly.

“Are you saying that we should go back to the Grand Hill Hotel again?” Mercer said in a teasing tone.

Calla knew he was getting back at her for humiliating him last time. She knew it was a battle she couldn’t win, so she admitted defeat once again.

She said in a pitiable tone, “Mr. Garland, I apologize… for the inappropriate comments | made before. I won’t… do it next time. Please find it in your heart to forgive me.

She was very close to tears. Since she was pregnant, she would probably have a miscarriage if he tried to do anything to her.

“So, you’re saying there will be a next time?” Mercer frowned.

Mercer had his fun this time. She hoped that he wouldn’t make things difficult for her

anymore.

The following morning, Calla saw Mercer and Simon in front of her as she was about to enter Atlas Tower.

She felt a little annoyed. Why did she run into him so often? But she would be late soon if she lingered around.

So, she could only force herself to walk into the lobby, but she tried her best to keep a good distance from Mercer.

The moment Mercer walked into the lobby, Peggy, who was all dressed up, strutted

toward him.

“Good morning, Mr. Garland!” Peggy said with an obsequious expression.

“Who are you?” Mercer asked as he narrowed his eyes.

“Mr. Garland, I’m Peggy Horn. I just came over from the branch office. I heard that you used to study at Jovian University, too. We both graduated from the same school!” Peggy quickly introduced herself.
