I offered Leticia to stay for lunch, so I was very grateful when she agreed. I miss having with someone to eat together.
Since Tranz fired our helpers, I've been eating alone because Tranz doesn't want us to join the table.
And it's all my fault.
"It doesn't suit you..."
From slicing the radish, I looked at Lele because of what she said. I could see the sadness in her eyes, and I knew she had it in me.
"I beg your pardon?"
"You look miserable, Mina." Without warning, she removed the shawl I placed around my neck. "See this? I'm not mistaken. You have bruises. Tranz is hurting you. Is it because of—"
I held her hand so she couldn't continue what she was supposed to say.
I don't want to remember what happened that day.
She shook her head and rubbed his face with both hands. "It's all my fault. I'm so sorry, Mina... If I hadn't just forced you that day, your relationship with Tranz wouldn't have been ruined..." Her shoulders were shaking from crying, so I hugged her. I patted her back to comfort her in tears.
"Shhh... It's not your fault, all right? Forget about it. Forget what happened that day because my husband and I forgot about it..."
I lied.
Because honestly, I will never forget what happened that day. I can't forgive myself because...
It's over, Mina. Your husband has forgiven you, hasn't he?
A long silence prevailed between the two of us. When she calmed down, I sent her to the living room first.
"I want to help," she protested, but I just rejected her because she might just hurt herself.
Leticia was born rich up to this day. She is an actress and model too.
And I know that she doesn't even know how to open a gas stove because she can afford even a hundred maids in her house.
"Stay here, Lele. I can do it." I smiled at her before turning back on her.
I am so thankful that she was kind to me. Because of her, I had an ally, especially that my parents were not here.
"Is Tranz busy?" Ahe asked, so I stopped walking and smiled because I knew Leticia's plan.
I felt a little excited because of the possibility that I could now catch up with my husband. I look like a teenybopper because of thinking about it.
"I do not know, why?"
"I'll call him. I'll send him home so you two can talk. Don't worry. I'll take care of everything. I got your back." She winked at me and gave me a thumbs up.
Instead of going to the kitchen, I waited first to see what the two would be talking about. I just stood and watched Lele's every move.
"No. I want you here, Tranz." Lele gazed upon me and shook her head. "What? Psh! Fine! If you don't come home, I will report you to Tito Michael." She paused. "I have my schedule, okay? This is my first time to have favor, and yet here you are, you're declining what I want." There's a line on her forehead because of her emotions, but it was still nice to see her face.
Lele is like a living doll.
She is sweet and bubbly.
There is a lot of spreading news about Lele's reputation; about her temperament, but I know they are just making some fake news because of how famous she is. Lele was kind, and I can prove that.
She considered me a real sister-in-law even though her mommy and my husband's father are not married yet.
"Everything is fine now. We'll wait. Goodbye." Lele put her cell phone back in her bag and stood up. "He is coming, so I will help you ..."
"Don't bother because you might get hurt."
"All right, all right. But let me stay in the kitchen, okay? I'll watch as you prepare our lunch."
We walked into the kitchen together. She sat in the high chair while she watched me while I cook.
I can't erase the smile on my face as I sliced the onion even though my eyes were watering.
"I want to learn how to cook just like you so that when I have a husband, I want to prepare his food just like what you're doing now."
"Why? Are you planning to marry your boyfriend?" I asked, even though I was sure of what she's going to answer.
"I'm already planning, eh. But I still need to prepare my parents for them not to be surprised. "
"Eh?"
I was surprised by her answer because I know that she's not the type of woman to marry as early as this, especially now that she is very popular. She probably loves her British National boyfriend. We met her boyfriend once. It was just Tranz and me when Leticia introduced her boyfriend because Lele's mommy is strict.
"I hope you help me explain to them, Mina, when the time comes."
"Why me?" I was shocked to ask her. I immediately looked at her while I was slicing vegetables, so- "Ouch!" I shouted because I accidentally injured my finger.
"What happened, Love? Are you all right?" Tranz suddenly entered the kitchen and attended to me.
Lele and I were surprised when my husband suddenly helped me.
He grabbed me and carried me to the faucet. He put my finger on the open faucet and let the blood flow.
When the blood stopped flowing, Tranz took me to the living room and applied first-aid to my small wound.
"Next time, be careful, okay? I was worried when I heard you shouted in pain." His voice was full of concern, so I cried.
I could no longer restrain myself, and I hugged him tightly. In his chest, I cried.
I felt one of his hands caressed my back while one of his hand is hugging me.
"I miss you so much, Love ... I am so miserable without you. So I hope we're okay now..." I whispered to him between sobs.
