Chapter 1033
Gilbert couldn't hide his smug smile as he looked at Sherilyn, feeling a sense of triumph for having seemingly unraveled her joy. "You look pretty pleased with yourself, huh?" Sherilyn couldn't help but laugh, even as she felt a tickle of irritation. "Immature much?" She shot back at him, "So, just because I asked about Callie, that means I like you?"
"Obviously!" Gilbert tilted his chin up proudly. "Would you grill Charles if he was seen with another woman?"
Sherilyn was momentarily at a loss for words, unable to counter.
With things having reached this point, she simply nodded in agreement.
"Alright then, let me be clear... yes, I've been considering what's between us," she conceded.
Too much had happened between them for them to continue in this ambiguous state. A decision had to be made.
Gilbert's face lit up as he grasped her hand tighter.
Looking him in the eyes, Sherilyn spoke firmly. "Before we go any further, you need to understand if you choose me... then you can't have any sort of ambiguous relationships with other women." She frowned. "Even if the Harrison family is influential, I won't tolerate any indecisiveness."
"Don't worry!" Gilbert reassured her without hesitation, raising his right hand and making a promise. "I'm not that kind of guy... You're all I need."
He then went on to explain the situation with Callie.
"Callie is the heiress of the Robinson family. There's nothing going on between us; I was just trying to avoid embarrassing her out of respect for her family's status." Sherilyn huffed, unimpressed.
"Is that why you've been holding off on making a commitment to me?"
Gilbert reached out, gently touching her puffed cheeks. "Once we're officially together, she'll back off."
Thinking it over, he suggested, "Maybe we should make it official soon?"
"Make what official?" Sherilyn raised an eyebrow. "Did I say yes? I thought I made it clear that I need more time to think."
What was there to think about? Obviously, she meant evaluating his actions.
Gilbert believed in himself, though. With a confident smirk, he assured her, "Don't worry, I'll make sure to impress you!"
He seemed so certain, as if their future together was already a done deal.
Sherilyn felt a buzz of excitement but then fixed him with a stern look.
"Did you take your medicine?"
She hadn't detected the faintest hint of medication on his breath, despite their proximity.
"Uh... no." Gilbert was taken aback for a moment before shaking his head.
Sherilyn's brows knitted together in disapproval. "Gilbert?!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Gilbert hastily

With that, he let her go and stood up. But just as he was about to leave, he leaned in close again, his handsome face filling her vision.
He quickly pecked her on the lips.
Before Sherilyn could react, he swiftly moved away, chuckling. "Off to take my medicine!"
He then dashed out, leaving Sherilyn sitting there, stunned. She touched her lips lightly, then sighed deeply...
She got up, grabbed some clothes from the wardrobe, and went to take a shower.
After her shower, as she was drying her hair, there was a knock on the door.
At this hour?
"Who is it?"
The door opened, and Gilbert walked in, already in his pajamas, his hair mostly dry, indicating he had taken a shower too. He was holding

Seeing him like this, Sherilyn guessed his intentions and frowned. "Don't push your luck!"
