Chapter 67
Chapter 67
Ethan looked at her bubbly expression with an intense gaze and said, "Getting prescription glasses is a long process. It usually takes a little over an hour. You just need to keep me company during the boring process" Josephine winked and laughed. "If that's the case, just give me a holler. I'll wait for you like how I wait for Nick just call me anytime!"
"Alright." He had never seen her so happy and excited ever since they reunited. He thought that Josephine, who used to be a cute and bubbly girl, would have matured into a gentle and sophisticated woman within these few years,
It would appear that she hadn't changed much. She just leamed how to hide her inner child due to her experience in life with others.
He raised his wrist to look at the time and frowned slightly. It was getting late and Josephine should be resting. If not, he would have asked her to stay and keep the conversation going for a little longer.
"It's a little over ten. You should go back and get some rest. Sleep well."
"Alright then, I'm going in now. Bye bye" She waved him goodbye and her eyes were still sparkling with happiness and excitement. Even Josephine's gait became lighter as she walked into the hotel's entrance.
Ethan stared at her back quietly as she walked in. He planned to leave after malding sure she got into the elevator. However, he hadn't expected someone tall to cush Toward Josephine from the side as she was walking in. The tall man forcefully grabbed her arm. It was Zayn
Josephine had never thought that Zayn would wait for her at the hotel's lobby. She had the fright of her lite.
"What are you doing? Please don't make a scene here. Let me go." Josephine tried to shake her arm free but it didn't work.
With an aloof smile, Zayn held her arm tighter and said, "You tried to make me jealous using Simon Chandler but you failed, didn't you? Now, you are in cahoots with Erhan Dane. Don't you think that these tactics of yours are vile? Josephine, how did you become someone like this? What happened to the gentle and understanding Mrs. Forbes that you used to be?"
"Zayn Forbes, let me go!"
Even though the lobby was empty, the stares coming from the receptionists were embarrassing enough. As the daughter from the prominent Dunn family, she really hated it when people stared at her inquisitively. It was especially true if she was in a dishevelled situation that was beyond her control.
"Did you hear me? Let go!"
"No, I won't! You're
re mine! Can't I hold onto your arm? Weren't you just talking happily with Erhan Dane? You became a completely different person when you saw me. What did I ever do to you?", Josephine was shocked at his audacity as her face paled. She was already panicking on the inside.
"Zayn Forbes, it was you who made a scene at the party with another woman regardless of what others thought. You even left earlier with that woman, leaving me all alone at the party. You were the one who caused the misunderstanding, not me! How dare you confront me with your nonsense?"
".." Zayn was taken aback. He had no idea that she knew. He was very careful when he wanted to leave. He made sure no one was around when he left.
"Nadine was feeling unwell and I had to send her to the hospital. I didn't stay very long. I wanted to go back to the party but I received a call from the sponsor of the movie when I was on my way there. I had no choice but to meet them."
"Save your explanation. If Nadine hadn't sent Josephine the picture, she would have fallen into his trap again given his drastic attempts to convince her.
"The only thing you need to know is, if there's someone raising questions about our marriage tomorrow, I am not the cause. You are the sole reason for it all." As Josephine said that, she shook her arm again this time with more strength and was able to free herself from his clasp.
She lowered her eyes to check her arm and realized that Zayn's tight grip had left a mark. She kept quiet and started walking to the elevator.
"Josephine!" Zayn shouted and quickly followed behind her. He handed her the creme anglaise and said, "I know that you like the creme anglaise from this bakery. I purposely made my way there to get it for you. It's still fresh"
