When Left

Chapter CHAPTER 48

When she left. He went crazy

Chapter 48 Divorce

Originally indifferent, Christopher, who was looking down at his phone, instantly looked up.

I had no choice but to walk out with my head down.

Christopher’s expression softened, and he spoke gently, “Why did you come to the hospital?”

His tone at this moment was completely different from when he was facing Evelyn just now.

In the past, I might have been able to feel his favor from it.

And now, I just felt ironic.

Without waiting for me to speak, Evelyn glanced at the doctor’s introduction on the office door display screen, then suddenly chuckled and deliberately said, “Why did you make an appointment with this kind of specialist? Have you been infected with a virus? Only those with a promiscuous private life would get infected, I suppose.”

She intentionally raised her voice to mock me, attracting many people to look at me with disdainful glances.

I breathed a sigh of relief instead. Glancing at the screen, I realized that the doctor might have changed shifts. The expert displayed on the screen was not the doctor who had seen me.

If they found that I came to see an obstetrician, I wouldn’t be able to explain. Christopher would probably use his authority to access my medical history directly.

I took a deep breath, adjusted my mood, and spoke lightly, “Yes, I am indeed afraid that my husband might cheat on me and then infect me with the disease.”

Evelyn may have felt guilty and didn’t dare argue with me anymore. “So, what are you here for?”

I chuckled and said slowly, “Didn’t you already say it? I was infected with a disease by my husband, so I came for a checkup.”

Evelyn stared at me. “Hope, do you believe…”

“Why do you talk so much nonsense?”

Christopher looked serious as he coldly interrupted Evelyn.

Evelyn was instantly so angry that her eyes turned red. “What do you mean by this? You heard her cursing at you, too. Are you still going to defend her?”

“You know that he’s my husband?”

I tried to calm down, not letting myself get angry, and deliberately said slowly, “Are you not afraid of being laughed at by others for pestering my husband in public? By the way, what are you doing at the hospital? I just heard inside that you already have a child?”

Upon my words, the curious gazes of onlookers swiftly shifted from me to Evelyn and Christopher.

Most of the women present expressed disdain towards Evelyn and Christopher after hearing my words.

If she really destroyed someone else’s family and got pregnant, her behavior was shameless.

And the cheating Christopher was even more despicable.

In the eyes of bystanders, Evelyn lacked a sense of morality, while Christopher not only lacked a sense of morality but also lacked responsibility and accountability.

“What are you guys watching?”

Evelyn said confidently, “We grew up together since we were young and almost got together many years ago.”

Then, she pointed at me and deliberately misrepresented the truth. “It was her meddling that tore us apart and caused us to miss so many years. I’m just taking back what was mine.”

“Evelyn.”

Christopher lost his patience and appeared particularly irritable. “I thought you were having a belly ache? How come you still have the energy to bully others? Since you’re fine, I’ll have someone send you home.”

Evelyn’s eyes were full of tears as she held onto his arm. “It hurts; I’m in so much pain,” she said.

I didn’t want to continue watching her predenting and just looked at Christopher. “When you have time, please give

me a call.”

There were some things I didn’t want to drag on any more.

Even if I needed to consider Bentley’s feelings, I still had to find another solution.

“Evelyn, how are you? What did the doctor say?”

Not far away, a familiar voice sounded.

Charlie was wearing colorful sunglasses and a floral shirt, clearly having just returned from a vacation on the island.

When he was young, he was particularly extravagant and enjoyed casually flirting with girls.

Evelyn saw him, and tears welled up in her eyes. “Charlie, you’re finally back. I was just bullied.”

“Did Christopher bully you?”

Charlie placed his sunglasses on top of his head and looked at Christopher. Tve told you before that you need to take good care of Evelyn. I’ve only been gone for two days, and she’s already in the hospital?”

I couldn’t help but feel upset and wanted to take advantage of this to leave directly.

Charlie suddenly noticed my presence and smiled satisfactorily. “Hope? You’re here too.”

“Dad.”

Out of politeness, I still greeted him.

Although, in my opinion, he was not a qualified father for Christopher

Charlie nodded. “You guys should take care of Evelyn more.”

I could retort Evelyn.

But Charlie was still my elder after all.

I could only say, “I have something to do, so I’ll leave first.”

After hearing what I said, Christopher pushed Evelyn over to Charlie and said coldly. “Since you’re back, I’ll hand her

over to you.”

After he finished speaking, he wanted to walk with me.

‘Chris! *

Evelyn angrily called out, but Christopher completely ignored her, following behind me as we walked towards the elevator.

I took care of the child and walked slowly, and he was extremely patient with that.

I didn’t turn to look at him until I stood at the elevator entrance. “Do you have time this afternoon?”

I needed to end our marriage as soon as possible.

He might have thought I was going to ask him out, as there was a sparkle in his eyes. “Sure, where do you want to go?”

“We need to go to the courthouse.”

I did intend to ask him out.

I needed to ask him to go through the divorce process.

“The divorce process was quite cumbersome to handle, and by the time all the approvals were completed, Bentley’s eightieth birthday would have long passed.

By that time, I would have been able to smoothly divorce Christopher.

I didn’t have to delay anything anymore.

Christopher’s expression stiffened, the smile in his eyes dimming significantly. He changed the subject, saying, “You just had a physical checkup a few days ago; why are you back at the hospital? Adam mentioned that all your test reports were normal. Is there something else bothering you?”

When I went to pick up my medical examination report the other day, Adam’s assistant personally handed it to me.

They have reviewed all the reports except for the ultrasound report.

I sighed deeply. “Christopher, sometimes I really don’t understand you. If you’re so entangled with Evelyn, why do you bother to care about me from time to time? But now, I’m no longer interested in your thoughts.”

Then, I stared at him intently and continued. “I just want to divorce you as soon as possible.”

Then, staring at him hard, I continued. “I just want to divorce you; the sooner, the better.”

I didn’t want to deal with rumors from the Valence Group.

After I divorced Christopher, I will use the excuse of working from home to stay at home peacefully and focus on nurturing the baby.

As for the development of Christopher and Evelyn’s relationship, I didn’t want to care about it anymore.

“Mrs. Valence?

Not far away, a somewhat familiar doctor in a white coat walked over.

She was the doctor who gave me the ultrasound

d that day

day.

I felt tense all over and a bit at a loss. She noticed Christopher by my side and looked at me with some relief. It seems like you’ve already told Mr. Valence everything. That’s good; as a couple, you should face it together.”

“Told me everything?”

Christopher frowned, suddenly fixing me with a sharp, intimidating gaze. “What do you want to tell me?”
