When fate plays its hand Chapter 804
Chapter 0804
Joli gave Madison a slight nod, and she quickly added, “Welcome aboard.”
“I have one more request…” Joli began hesitantly.
Miranda interjected knowingly, “It’s about Theodore, isn’t it?”
He looked up abruptly, surprise written all over his face. “How did you
know?”

Miranda smiled faintly. “I also know that if Yasmine hadn’t removed his name from the competition project, you might have kept enduring things a little longer. That incident pushed you to finally take action and report Sophie.”
Joli lowered his gaze. “Theodore has had it rough… Kids from rural areas like us all have it tough. I became Sophie’s tool, and I didn’t want to see him walk the same path I did.
“Even now, while he hasn’t found a new mentor willing to take him in, he’s more worried about me graduating. He’s been running around, writing dozens of emails to potential mentors on my behalf.”
He paused, his voice quieter but resolute. “I know it’s a lot to ask, but is there any way Theodore could also transfer to Dr. Young’s supervision?”
Miranda nodded. “Rest assured, Dr. Young already mentioned it before I came here. She’s agreed to take Theodore under her wing as well. Didn’t he consider her his idol? Now, he’ll officially be her student.”
Joli’s face lit up with relief and joy, brighter even than when he heard he’d been accepted by Christine. “That’s amazing! That silly kid’s going to be over the moon! He’ll probably laugh himself awake in his dreams!”
“However, there’s one thing you’ll need to explain to him. At the moment, Theodore’s abilities aren’t quite enough for him to join Infinity Lab. But if he works hard, once he meets the standards, he’ll naturally have a chance.”
Joli nodded earnestly. “I understand, and so will he. He won’t hold any grudges.”
“Good,” Miranda said, extending her hand toward him. “Here’s to a productive partnership. For science, for
academia, and for dreams–let’s charge ahead together.”
Joli grasped her hand, his heart swelling with determination. “Yes.”
The next day at noon, Christine landed at Elgerson Airport. She didn’t even stop by her home, heading straight to the college.
First, she went to the registrar’s office to finalize the paperwork for taking on Joli and Theodore. Then, she brought the two of them to her home,

At Christine’s house, Olivia had already prepared a steaming meal. There were four dishes
and a stew.
Later, Miranda would hear about the lunch, how the two young men had broken down crying at the table, overwhelmed with gratitude. Even Christine couldn’t hold back her tears, dabbing at her eyes more than once.
As the final decisions on the controversy were announced, the situation finally came to a
close.
Yasmine’s tampering with the project earned consequences for her teammates Willow and Hank as well, since they had been direct beneficiarles.
Hank received a serious demerit, which would remain on his record. Willow, however, was only issued a formal warning.
Madison frowned at this. “Why did Hank and Willow get different punishments for the same offense?”
Sebastian shrugged. “Why do you think? Remember who Willow’s boyfriend is.”
“Wait… Are you saying Hansel Johnson intervened on her behalf?”
“Of course. The difference isn’t just the punishment–it’s whether or not it gets recorded officially.”
“So Hank’s got it on his record, but Willow doesn’t?”
“The statement didn’t mention it being recorded for her, so it’s safe to assume it isn’t.”
Madison let out a low whistle. “Wow, Willow really knows how to play her cards. But seriously, what’s Hansel thinking? He broke up with Miranda and then started dating someone in her circle? That’s not how you win her back–it’s like he’s deliberately pushing her further away!”
Sebastian spread his hands in a gesture of exasperation. “Who knows what’s going on in his head? Maybe he thinks hanging around Miranda like this will soften her up and make her forgive him? Maybe even agree to get back together?”
Little did he know, Sebastian truly had it all figured out.
Madison gawked at him. “Do all men have brains that work this strangely?”
