“W–What does that mean?” Yasmine stared in confusion.

“You think I’ve been at Bedford College for this long without building some influence?” Sophie gave a cold laugh. “The administration is still weighing its options. Now that the hype is dying down, all they need to do is drag this out a bit longer until the whole issue quietly fades away.

“I’ll be fine. And so will you. So pull yourself together! Stop looking like your parents just died.”

“Really… We’ll really be okay?” Yasmine hesitated, her voice trembling.

Sophie grabbed her coat and shoes, clearly ready to leave. She didn’t even bother to answer such a foolish question.

“Aunt Sophie, where are you going?” Yasmine asked.

Joli slowly raised his head to meet her gaze directly.
