When fate plays its hand Chapter 757
Chapter 0757
“Troublesome? How so?” Miranda was surprised. She couldn’t help feeling curious as this was the first time she’d heard anyone describe Mindy that way.
Aren answered, “Don’t be fooled by how gentle and refined your mother is now. When she was a child, she would climb trees to catch birds or fish in the river. You name it, she would do it.”
Miranda was taken aback. “Is that true?”
“The covered walkway in Garrison Garden had a total of 68 railings, but they weren’t always there. The railings were added later.”
“Does that have something to do with Mom?”
Aren whispered, “Yes, it’s to prevent her from jumping into the surrounding ponds to catch fish.”
Miranda was at a loss for words.
“You never expected it, right?”
She shook her head. “I can’t imagine it, it’s too unbelievable.”
Aren chuckled and said, “I’ll show you some photos of your mom when she was young later. We have kept them safe this entire time.”
“Why don’t we go now?” Miranda’s eyes lit up.
Aren actually nodded. “Sure!” He couldn’t bear to disappoint his granddaughter even a little!
Both of them headed upstairs together.
Sam found the living room empty when he finished his call and returned. He looked around the first floor with no luck before heading to the kitchen. “Grandma, where did Grandpa and Miranda go?”
“Weren’t they in the living room?”
“They’re not there.”
“Then they must’ve gone elsewhere to enjoy themselves. Let them be. Weren’t you supposed to be working overtime? You should head to the office,” Fiona answered.
“I’m not going. I’m not busy,” Sam said.
Fiona felt puzzled. Then why did the butler just say that work calls were even reaching their landline?
