Chapter hand 532
Chapter 0532
Hansel’s deep gaze locked with hers, and he said softly, “You know what I want.”
Miranda frowned.
“It’s simple–come back to me. If you do, forget the consent letter, I’ll give you anything you want.”
“That’s impossible!” Her answer was absolute and firm
“Mimi…” Hansel let out a bitter laugh. “I know you’re probably cursing me for being despicable and shameless, but I can’t live without you… Please, come back to me.
“I swear, from now on, I’ll only have you. I’ll change everything you don’t like. Just give me one more chance, will you?”
As he finished, he reached out, desperate to grab her hand. But Miranda swiftly pulled away, leaving him grasping at nothing.
“I don’t believe a single word you say, and I certainly won’t agree to your request.”
She gathered her documents and pen. “Coming here today was a mistake. If you don’t want to sign, then don’t.”
With that, she stood up and walked out. Her steps were quick and determined.
Even though she had long since stopped expecting anything from him, she was still stunned by how low the man she once loved had sunk.
Outside the restaurant, she flagged down a cab. But before she could get in, Hansel rushed after her and grabbed her wrist, pulling her back.
The cab driver, thinking there was a dispute, quickly drove off.
“What are you doing, Hansel?” she demanded.
“You always walk away without a word, leaving me behind to watch you disappear. Miranda, you really know how to make someone suffer!”
“So it’s all my fault, right? The beloved Mr. Johnson is always innocent, always
Hansel. Run to your mother. Let her pamper you–I’m not obliged to!”
justified? Go home,
His face turned pale, and his grip on her wrist tightened slightly. He breathed heavily before finally calming down.
“Let me take you home,” he said with much difficulty.
“You don’t have to. I can manage on my own.”
“Do you have to be this stubborn?”
She scoffed. “It’s not about being stubborn–I just don’t want to see you.”
Hansel reached for her again.
“She said she doesn’t want to see you. Didn’t you hear her?” Sam suddenly appeared, stepping between

them and separating the two.
The two men locked eyes. Sam’s expression was sharp and intimidating, while Hansel stared back coldly, unwilling to back down.
“This is between Miranda and me. You’d better stay out of it!”
Sam smirked. “Her business is my business, so I’m definitely getting involved. What are you going to do about it?”
“And who the hell do you think you are? What gives you the right to interfere?”
Sam replied, “I don’t know who I am, but I know I outrank you.”
Hansel fell silent, glaring at him.
Sam then turned to
Miranda, his voice softening instantly as he asked, “Are you okay?”
She shook her head lightly. “Could you give me a ride home?”
“Of course, it would be my pleasure.”
He opened the car door for her, and Miranda got in.
Hansel clenched his fists, watching helplessly as Sam drove her away.
But did she really think it was over? The consent letter wasn’t signed yet. There was still time–plenty of time!
In the car, Miranda stared out the window at the passing streets, full of people and life.
Sensing her frustration and sadness, Sam quietly turned on some music. “…How are you feeling now? Any better?” he asked.
“Thank you,” she replied.
“Let me tell you a joke to cheer you up. Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was. outstanding in his field! What do you think? Did that help?”
Miranda teased, “That was pretty bad.”
