Way Back Into Love (Essie)

"Then is it a story of Cinderella for me to marry Vinton and becoming your sister-in-law?" Eva grinned.

Pretending to be angry, Essie squinted at her and said, "Don't belittle yourself, okay? You are a superstar worth millions of dollars, and you are a match of my brother. How can you be a Cinderella?" Eva chuckled, "A star marries a rich man. What an old-fashioned drama."

"Yes, although it's old-fashioned, it will last for a long time," Essie said with a smile.

As the two of them were talking, they saw two people coming in at the door of the restaurant. They were Janice and a strange American man.

"Janice!" Eva shouted at once.

Seeing them, Janice was a little surprised. Dragon City was really small. She would meet acquaintances when she went out for dinner. They were acquaintances she didn't want to run into.

She didn't want to have dinner out with Nicholas, but Nicholas insisted. She didn't want to piss him off, so she had to agree reluctantly.

"Eva, Essie, you are also here. What a coincidence!" Janice tried her best to keep calm and smiled gently.

"Is this handsome man with blonde hair and blue eyes your friend in America?" Essie looked Nicholas up and down.

Nicholas smiled charmingly. "Hello, two beautiful ladies. My name is Nicholas," he introduced himself.

"He is the professor from Harvard who has cured my disease. He came to China this time to carry out medical research and cooperation with the Ministry of health," Janice said with understatement. "Wow, you are the super powerful medical genius. I should worship you," Eva said with a smile.

Nicholas didn't speak much Chinese, so they all spoke in English.

"Since we all know each other, why don't we sit down and eat together?" Nicholas said straightforwardly.

"Okay." Essie asked the waiter to add more tables and chairs.

In fact, Janice didn't want to have dinner with them. She was afraid that Nicholas might spill the beans and tell them their relationship, but she couldn't find an excuse to refuse, so she had to sit down reluctantly.

Nicholas looked at Eva carefully and exclaimed, "You are a big star, aren't you? I saw you on TV."

"Yes, Eva is one of the most popular female stars in our country," Janice said with a smile.

Nicholas took out a pen and asked Eva to sign on his T-shirt. Eva smiled, stood up and signed her name on his T-shirt.

"Thank you, beautiful lady." Nicholas laughed heartily.

"Oh, my God! Janice said that you are a Geneticist. I can't believe that you are such a young, handsome and humorous!" Essie said with a smile.

"What should a Geneticist look like?" Nicholas asked with a smile.

"In my heart, that should be a man in his fifties, with gray hair and glasses who were doing research in the lab every day," Essie said with a smile.

"It seems that I have broken your fantasy." Nicholas shrugged his shoulders and said, "There is a Chinese saying that birds of a feather flock together. It's true. Janice is a beauty, and so are her friends." Janice looked at Essie with a smile, "She is the mother of four children. Can't you see that?"

"Oh my God!" Nicholas showed an extremely surprised expression. "Ms. Yi, you have such a good figure, completely like a young girl. It's impossible to tell that you are a mother."

"Women should take good care of themselves so that their love can be guaranteed." Essie smiled.

"That makes sense." Nicholas nodded, "Ms. Yi must be a very smart woman."

The waiter brought the menu. Nicholas ordered his own food and then ordered for Janice. She used to be his patient. He knew better than anyone what she should eat to help her health. "Mr. Nicholas, what you ordered for Janice are all fish. She is more suitable for eating fish, isn't she?" Eva asked casually.

"The fish is nutritious and has no extra fat. It's good for Janice's digestion system," Nicholas said.

Taking a sip of the red wine, Essie smiled and said, "Janice, have you introduced Mr. Nicholas to Jim?"

"Not yet." With a smile on her face, Janice tried to hide her embarrassment. "Nicholas just arrived yesterday. I haven't introduced him to Jim yet."

Nicholas's silvery green eyes flashed with an imperceptible cold light. "Are you talking about Jim Jing?"

"Yes, he is Janice's boyfriend. I guess she has told you before, hasn't she?" Eva asked.

"Of course. When she was in America, I often heard her mention this name," Nicholas said with a faint smile.

"Janice loves him very much, and he loves her too. They are going to get married soon," Eva said with a smile.

"Really?" The smile at the corners of Nicholas's mouth froze for a while. He raised the glass in his hand and looked at Janice. "Margret, are you going to marry Mr. Jim Jing?"

"Yes, we are going to get married. Are you happy for me, Professor Nicholas?" Janice asked deliberately.

"Of course, Congratulations!" Nicholas smiled exaggeratedly.

Essie quietly looked at the two of them. For some reason, she always felt that their relationship was not as simple as a doctor and a patient. Nicholas was too young. He should be only thirty five or thirty six years old. The way he looked at Janice was very strange, as if he was trying to hide something.

While she was thinking, Nicholas's voice came again. He said to Eva, "Miss Fang, I've seen the movie you cooperated with Mr. Jim Jing. You two are quite tacit, like a real couple. I thought you were a couple." Eva shook her head immediately, "Mr. Nicholas, you misunderstood me. I have a fiancee. I'm going to get married in two months."

"Really?" Nicholas was slightly surprised.

"Her fiancee is my brother, and she is my future sister-in-law," Essie explained.

"Oh, I see." Nicholas smiled and said, "To be honest, I have watched several TV series that Miss Fang and Mr. Jim Jing have cooperated. I think you are really suitable for each other. In comparison, Margret is not much so."

It seemed that he said these words on purpose to irritate Janice. The corners of Janice's mouth twitched fiercely, and she felt very unhappy.

"Professor Nicholas, they are just acting, and they are all very dedicated actors. Their feelings in the play will never be brought out of the play," she said gloomily.

"Mr. Nicholas, you are really good at joking. If you say so, it will make people misunderstand. What we actors are afraid of is gossip." Eva said in a hurry, "I love my fiancee very much. And Jim loves Janice. We are both the perfect couple for each other."

"Of course I'm joking. Don't take it to heart." Nicholas shrugged.

Eva and Essie looked at each other and smiled, "Mr. Nicholas, how long are you going to stay in Dragon City?"

"A few months. I want to see how Margret is doing," Nicholas said casually.

"Didn't she recover?" Hearing that, Essie was slightly stunned.

"Yes, but her immunity is relatively low. Now I have to find a way to increase her immunity." Nicholas shrugged.

"I see." Essie nodded.

Janice ate a piece of fish, and then looked at Eva said, "Eva, I heard that after the completion of this play, you will go to South Eastern Asia with Vinton for a vacation?"

"Yes, we are planning to go to many places, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives..." A happy smile appeared on Eva's face.

Janice also smiled. Whether she had an affair with Jim or not, it was a good thing for her to leave. Jim could focus on her.

After a long silence, Nicholas took a sip of mushroom soup and said, "Margret, when can you arrange me to meet your boyfriend, Mr. Jim Jing? I really want to see with my own eyes what kind of person the man you have been thinking about for so long."

"Okay, I will arrange it for you when Jim is free." Janice nodded slightly. Of course she didn't like them to meet each other. Jim was a neat freak, and she knew it very well. If he knew that she was not clean, he would definitely not want her. Therefore, she had decided to do a repair operation secretly after Nicholas left, pretending to be her first time.

"Professor Nicholas, may I ask if you are married?" Essie asked suddenly.

"Not yet. I've been busy with my research these years and delayed my marriage." Nicholas sighed.

"Then you are the legendary golden bachelor," Essie said in a joking tone.

"It's a pity that you beautiful women all have a boyfriend. Otherwise, you can consider me," Nicholas teased.

After dinner, everyone left.

After returning to the Rong Mansion, Essie told Zac that they had met Nicholas.

"Frozen guy, do you really think there is no other man around Janice for so many years?"

"What do you want to say?" Zac put his arm around her shoulder.

"A woman has suffered from despair, pain and endless pain. Even if she split into another person, it may not be able to relieve this suffering. And maybe her secondary personality is more lonely, and she needs someone to rely on," Essie said thoughtfully. This had nothing to do with love. It was just a spiritual need.
