Chapter 146

Chapter 146

John quickly sent out the invitations for a party to Bridget, Coco, and Naomi

That day, Naomi showed up with a dress she’d designed herself. It was a stunning black and white strapless dress. The white section was a bit shorter on the left, from breast to waist, while the right side was longer, transitioning into solid black with a slit up the front of the right leg that sparkled with every move.

After a month of Naomi’s care, Coco had not only lost the scar on her face, but her skin had become incredibly soft and flawless.

Naomi helped Coco into the dress and some high heels. “Coco, come on. Take a few steps

Coco hadn’t stepped outside in years, let alone dressed up for a fancy event, Seeing the admiration in Naomi’s eyes, she cautiously took a few steps

As she walked, her long legs peeked through the slit in the shimmering black dress, casting a radiant glow with each step.

But Naomi frowned, stepped up, and took her hand. “Coco, your posture wasn’t right. You need to hold your head high. Be confident and bold. You have to believe you’re the most beautiful girl here”

“Let me find a runway walk video for you” Naomi pulled out her phone and searched for a video. After watching it, Coco saw her mistake

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have slouched and lacked confidence, Coco said, looking contrite.

“It’s alright. Let’s try again” Naomi encouraged her. We’ll accept the apology we deserve with pride and confidence.

Coco took a deep breath, her hand moving to the i

top of her chest, wanting to tug at the thigh–high slir. Bridget stepped in, gently lowering her hand. “Coco, you’re stunning. This dress isn’t revealing. No need to be shy.”

Give me a sec” Bridget turned to go to her room and changed into her own evening strapless dress with a subtle cutout at the waist on the right side, adorned with a rose tattoo

and ac

up the left le

leg that hinted at her graceful figure.

“Coco, walk like this. Bridget encouraged her daughter. The more John underestimates you, the more you should prove him wrong. Let him know my daughter is out of his league now,

“My investments are never bad. My judgment is never wrong.” Bridget’s mood huid been great all month, and her improved appetite and sleep had filled out her once thin and weak body,

Naomi, while helping Coco, had also helped Bridget. Bridget’s face, once pale and dull, was now rosy and radiant. Though still thin, she carried her beauty and elegance well Elegance had nothing to do with size.

“Naomi, what about your dress?Bridges asked. “If you haven’t prepared, I can lend you one. I have plenty, some never worn”

“Thanks, Bridget, but I’ve got my dress,” Naomi said, pulling out a simple blue gown and comfortable heels. She wasn’t the star of the show, so there was no need to outshine others.

“Coco, let’s do your makeup, Naomi said, getting to work.

Coco sat obediently, trusting Naomi completely.

Naomi kept the makeup light. Coco’s face had just healed and needed care. She used a medicinal juice made from herbs as a cosmetic. “No cosmetics for your face, remember!”

Coco nodded “Sure”

“When you go out, don’t let anyone touch your face, especially your special cosmetics, Naomi warned, applying a thin layer that instantly brightened Coco’s complexion.

“Lipstick is okay Naomi said, choosing a shade that matched Coco’s skin and dress, and carefully applying it. “Let’s go for long, curly hair.”

Coco gazed into the mirror, watching as Naomi transformed her into a new person.

With long, curly hair cascading down her back and slender earrings gracing her ears, Coco’s face, now free of the sear she’d had since birth, was radiant

Her heart pounded in her chest, and her eyes stung with the memory of the days filled with self–doubt and fear, which now seemed like a distant past, as if they were just a dream.

In just a little over a month, Naomi had changed Coco’s life.

“Coco, my dear, you’re truly beautiful,” Bridget said, tears of joy streaming down her face. “I’ve always said my daughter is the most beautiful girl in the world.”

ne a new life” Coco suddenly stood and bowed deeply to Naomi. “Naomi, thank you for giving me a

Naomi quickly helped her up. “No need for this You’ve helped me too and paid me well.”

“Ladies, the car is ready. We can set off, the butler reminded, stepping forward. “Ms. Quin, you’ll be the belle of the ball tonight.”

Coco held back her tears, not wanting to ruin her makeup, “Let’s go!”

Dressed to the nines, the three of them headed to John’s party

Half an hour later, the Bentley rolled up to a manor where the party was in full swing on the lawn. The lights were as bright as day, and fresh flowers were artfully arranged. Delectable dishes covered the long tables John, in a sharp white suit and holding a wineglass, mingled with his guests

The men were dapper in suits, the women resplendent in their best attire, everyone chatting and sealing deals over glasses of wine.

Bridget stepped out of the car with Naomi and Coco, handed the invitation to the attendant, and strode in with poise. Coco, despite her cram session on walking, felt a bit awkward but held Naomi’s hand and naturally synced her steps with hers.

Naomi walked with a confident swagger, and Coco, emboldened, followed in, her head held high.

The nearby crowd gasped as the trio entered. They wondered to themselves. When did John invite such lovely young girls? Yes, young–Naomi at nineteen and Coco at eighteen are the epitome of youth, aren’t they?‘

The guests there were no fools. They could spot a girl amid women in a heartbeat

John was the most shocked, staring at Coco in disbelief, thinking. How could this be The scar, which countless doctors said was beyond help, now looks better than normal skin in just a month?! No, it’s not possible. It’s a conspiracy. It has to be.

John approached them, his gaze turning dark. “What have you done to her face!”

Naomi’s lips curled into a slight smile, her voice cold as ice. “The month is up. Aren’t you supposed to apologize to Coco and me in front of everyone now?” John’s sinister look and tone made it hard for her to smile.

Coco lifted her chin, scanning the room. “What’s the matter Planning to break your promise, or are you saying you, a famous doctor, can’t stand to

lose?”

John nearly choked. “I don’t believe it. How could your scar vanish in a month If it’s that miraculous, why wait for years?”

John, the world is full of surprises. We couldn’t cure Coro’s face before because we hadn’t found the right person.” Bridget interjected, calmer than the others. “Let me properly introduce Naomi, who is also my daughter’s doctor. You’ve met her, but your attitude was poor back then. Dr. Eaton, you haven’t forgotten our deal that day at my house, have you

How could John forget? He’d daydreamed about Naomi and Coen begging for forgiveness, and Bridget offering him a hefty check to operate on

Coco.

But now Coco’s face was healed, and her dress immediately drew everyone’s attention.

At that moment, everyone’s eyes were on them. The three ladies, each uniquely beautiful, outshone John.

The crowd didn’t recognize Coco, but many knew Bridget. They’d heard Bridget’s daughter was so unattractive that she was unpresentable in public. Early at the party, John had let slip that Bridget had refused his plastic surgery offer for her daughter and found a fraud. He had claimed that Bridget would bring Coco to apologize later.

But now, the crowd saw that Naomi and Coco were stunning beauties. Coco, with her strong resemblance to Bridget, was clearly Bridget’s daughter.

In their eyes, Naomi, in a simple, elegant dress, didn’t look like a fraud at all, with her light makeup, fine features, and long unbraided hair.

“Dr. Eaton, you’re not a sore loser, are you!” Bridget said with a faint smile. She led Coco and Naomi toward the crowd and spoke to the person in charge of the arrangements. Soon, the big screen on stage lit up with two photos.

Naomi was taken aback and quickly grabbed Bridget’s hand. “Bridget, don’t show the old photo of Coco.

“It’s alright, dear. Coco suggested it herself. Bridget patted her hand. “Coco said she could handle the grievances, but she wouldn’t let you be wronged.”

Coco’s eyes were red as she looked at the photo on the left of the big screen, which showed half her scarred face. She couldn’t hold back her tears

anymore
