Unveiling the Genius Behind the Divorcee

Chapter 257

Chapter 257 Abandoned Ex Husband

You've done something wrong yet you're still so arrogant!

Jacquelyn was forced to lower her proud head. Grayson's pressure crushed her pride and confidence in front of Aylin.

Aylin crossed her arms and looked at Jacquelyn coldly. She deserved it!

Harry stood tall with a cold expression in his eyes. "She humiliated my people first, and it's not something an apology can resolve."

His thin eyebrows lowered as his face darkened. "You didn't teach your daughter well," he continued.

Those remarks were already very rude to an elder, and Grayson couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed. His daughter started it, so he restrained himself from losing his temper.

"My daughter is young and ignorant, and she unintentionally offended this lady. I feel very guilty in my heart."

Jacquelyn was furious and disappointed in her father. Grayson pulled Jacquelyn closer and said, "Apologize to this lady!"

Tears welled up in Jacquelyn's eyes as she gritted her teeth. She felt utterly humiliated.

She originally wanted to find a sense of superiority in front of Aylin to compete with Gavyn's ex-wife. Who knew that she would end up admitting her mistake!

Grayson's stern gaze was right in front of her, and the burden of the family and the company was heavily pressuring her.

She looked around.

Haleigh sighed and turned her head sideways. She couldn't interfere in other people's family affairs.

Gavyn, on the other hand, didn't even look at Jacquelyn. His eyes were fixated on Aylin.

She was alone and no one could help her.

Jacquelyn tried her best to hold back her tears and save her dignity. She could not bear the humiliation and lowered her head.

"I'm sorry..."

"I don't accept your apology."

Aylin slightly parted her red lips and faintly uttered, "Of course, there is a price to pay for what you did wrong. Otherwise, how can you learn from it?" Her eyes were cold.

However, her disdain was concealed in her eyes, unlike Jacquelyn's overt display. Yet, despite being an experienced businessman, that still sent a chill down Grayson's spine. How could a young and beautiful girl have such a cold look?

This woman was definitely not an ordinary person.

Grayson swallowed his saliva and smiled apologetically. He personally stepped forward to bow to Aylin, "Look, Ms. Aylin, cooperation is also a win-win solution. Don't let such a trivial matter ruin our harmony. I apologize on behalf of my daughter for the offense toward you. About the cooperation..."

"You must be mistaken," Aylin interrupted coldly. She touched the tassels hanging down from the end of her hairpin as she spoke calmly, "You're the one begging Harry to cooperate, not the other way around. Before you learn how to make a movie, you should learn how to behave first. Otherwise, I'm afraid that Nirvana Filmworks won't be able to go far in the future."

Alarm bells went off in Grayson's head. He turned around and glared fiercely at Jacquelyn.

He did indulge his daughter so much that it led to today's disaster.

But he was still unwilling to give up.

"Mr. Gardner, are you really not going to reconsider? The terms can be negotiated."

The collaboration between Nirvana Filmworks and a top actor like Harry would be immensely profitable. Grayson didn't want to let go of this great opportunity to become rich and famous. But Harry didn't even lift his gaze. "I don't want to say it again."

Harry was a tough nut to crack, and the woman beside him was unfathomable. Grayson could tell that his daughter had completely offended these two people, and the situation was completely irreparable. He was so angry that he slapped Jacquelyn again.

"This kid."

Grayson had encountered a lot of people before. Aylin displayed a sense of grace and elegance, and his intuition told him that it wouldn't hurt to be polite to her.

Grayson bowed slightly. He then took a brand-new business card out of his pocket and handed it over in a very modest manner as he spoke, "If this cooperation doesn't work, maybe there will be another chance in the future."

"Just consider it as a way to strike up a friendship."

"This is my business card. Please accept it. If you have any other thoughts, feel free to contact me."

Aylin casually took the business card after seeing that Grayson was being sensible. "Let's talk about it later," said Aylin lightly.

Grayson pulled Jacquelyn over and bowed to Aylin and Harry. "I apologize for the trouble. I'll go back and teach my daughter a lesson. Please excuse us.

Jacquelyn was crying so hard that her vision became blurry and she staggered in her footsteps.

She didn't dare to raise her head along the way, feeling that everyone around her was laughing at her.

She felt that she had never been so humiliated in her life!

Gavyn's gaze never left Aylin. He could see every move the woman made, but he was calm and composed.

She was so beautiful that he couldn't shift his gaze away from her.

As people left, the scene quieted down.

The farce was finally over.

Harry smoothed the hem of Aylin's clothes and whispered, "It's finally quiet."

"Yeah." -

Aylin watched Jacquelyn leave and she caught a glimpse of Gavyn's figure in the corner of his eyes.

Throughout the whole ordeal, he didn't say a word in defense of Jacquelyn, and she saw it all. If what Jacquelyn said was true that Gavyn regarded her as his fiancée, then he shouldn't behave like this. He was really loyal to Laila.

Aylin didn't believe that what he said was only a debt of gratitude between them and no other feelings involved.

Three years ago, a single phone call from Laila Marsh could make him leave his home at midnight. Now, even if the wedding turned out to be ugly, he didn't say anything harsh. Aylin couldn't help but sneer.

If it was not love, then what else?

Aylin frowned before she put aside his messy thoughts and said to Harry, "Let's grab a meal."

Abby had been hungry for a long time. As soon as she heard that she was going to eat, she was very happy. She took Aylin's hand and said, "Yay!"

The three of them were about to leave when Haleigh saw that the farce had ended. She had already lost her appetite. She grabbed Gavyn's arm and said, "Gavin, let's..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Gavyn broke free from her grip and walked toward Aylin.

The overhead spotlight illuminated the man, reflecting the tall and delicate bridge of the man's nose. The contours of his eyes were deep, but the cold stars in his eyes swept across Harry like sharp blades. It was undisguised hostility.

"It's so late. Where are you going dressed like this with a stranger?"

Aylin frowned when she heard that.

What did he mean by dressing like this? She didn't need to be judged by him.

Does it have anything to do with you?"

The words were very rude and the annoyance was very obvious.

Harry, on the other hand, was even more disrespectful.

"Mr. Delacruz, if I remember correctly, you have divorced Ayl. How can an ex-husband who has been dumped discipline her?"

Gavyn furrowed his thick brows.

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

Children's intuition was the most sensitive. Abby looked at the two tall and strong people standing in silent confrontation as if she could smell the scent of gunpowder in the air.

Harry's words were very rude. He described his divorce with Aylin which was agreed upon as if he had been dumped. Any man in his position would find it intolerable.

It was hard to say what would happen to them if this continued.

Aylin took the initiative to break the deadlock.

"I'm hungry. Let's go."

She tugged at the corner of Harry's shirt and frowned. "Stop wasting your time here."
