Chapter 104
Chapter 104 The Grand Wedding
A week later, the highly anticipated grand wedding that had captured the attention of the entire city finally arrived.
The melodious violin music began to play, with the musician standing on a raised platform, filling the entire venue with graceful rhythms.
Many guests present were well-versed in the arts, and someone couldn't help but exclaim, "This violin performance is truly marvelous! Even from a distance, it makes one feel as if they are right there in the moment. Mrs. Delacruz sure knows how to pick the talent!"
Haleigh covered her mouth and chuckled, "Oh my, you're too kind. This musician was actually invited by my daughter. She said that playing music through a speaker at a wedding is too lacking in style, so she specifically hired him from outside."
Carmen couldn't hide her excitement, "Of course, Gavyn's wedding should be taken seriously."
Both the mother and daughter were completely won over by Laila, and also, for the sake of Gavyn's dignity, they were wholeheartedly devoted to the planning of this wedding.
From the selection of the venue to the placement of a single flower, every detail mattered.
Everyone was personally involved!
It must be said that although Carmen was harsh to others, she had an excellent aesthetic sense. The scene was dominated by a pure white color scheme, accented with light pink gauze. Underneath the red carpet, there were laser-cut marble tiles with a trendy starry sky design on it.
It combined the sacred beauty of a wedding ceremony with a touch of uniqueness.
Haleigh and Carmen changed into outfits that matched the wedding theme and stood at the entrance to welcome the guests. The stream of visitors was endless, and they greeted and attended to each one, their mouths filled with blessings and auspicious words.
A middle-aged man congratulated with a bow, "Congratulations, Gavyn! This time, you've married
the love of your life."
"Ah, if it isn't Mr. Zimmerman! You've finally arrived. I've been waiting for you for quite some time," Haleigh said warmly as she approached him. "Come, come, please sit at this table. I've specially reserved this spot for you."
"You're being too polite! No worries, I can sit by myself."
Albert Zimmerman pulled out a chair and sat down, smiling at Haleigh, "I've seen the bride-to-be, and she's just stunning, with an extraordinary aura. She and Gavyn are such a perfect match, I'm really envious of you for having such good fortune in your family."
Haleigh couldn't help but laugh, yet she playfully scolded, "Look at what you're saying. Your son
isn't too bad either, you know. He's reaching that age, so you should hurry up and introduce him to a few potential partners. Who knows, he might even settle down by next year!"
Albert waved his hand, wanting to say something, but was interrupted by a sudden (h o n k) of a car
horn.
Glancing over, it was Gavyn's car that had arrived.
The two people stepping out of the car caught everyone's attention. The man was dressed in a luxurious matte greyish-white satin suit, while the woman wore a pure white, waist-cinching wedding gown adorned with tiny diamonds. Arm in arm, they walked up the steps, smiling and acknowledging their guests.
In an instant, all eyes were drawn to the scene, as waves of astonished gasps erupted from the
audience.
"The bride is just too beautiful!"
"Truly a talented man and a beautiful woman, a perfect match!"
"Oh my, it's a match made in heaven, Mrs. Delacruz. No wonder they say you're destined to have
children."
"No wonder Mr. Gavyn is so handsome! It turns out that his mother and sister are both stunning beauties too. The whole family is so good-looking, wow!"
Albert also couldn't help but admire, "Ah, my son is all about having freedom to love, and I don't approve of any of the women he brings home! You, on the other hand, have a great daughter-in-law. Ms. Marsh is so poised and elegant, and she seems to be very filial and sensible."
At this moment, guests were coming to offer their congratulations, and the atmosphere was filled with joy. Along with that, Haleigh also received compliments such as "great parenting" and that "the son takes after his mother." She couldn't be any happier.
"Mr. Zimmerman, you're too kind. Later, I'll have Laila introduce some of her friends to your son, so he can get to know them and see if there's anyone he likes."
Haleigh was brimming with joy now that Aylin and her son were divorced.
Laila is not only beautiful and has a sweet mouth, but she can also dance and paint. She is truly versatile, being able to grace the halls and manage the kitchen! Throughout the entire New York, she is indeed a prime candidate for a good wife.
She's a hundred times better than that mysterious Aylin!
Haleigh thought, if her son had married Aylin today, there definitely wouldn't have been such a
That naive country girl probably wouldn't even know how to speak when faced with such a grand occasion, only bringing embarrassment upon herself!
Haleigh's eyes scanned the crowd several times before finally spotting the person she was looking for. She then walked over with small steps.
"Hey, did you take a good photo of my son?"
The reporter held up the camera, and since it was a live broadcast, he lowered his voice and said, "Rest assured, my photography skills are highly praised. I guarantee that all of New York will be captivated by Mr. Gavyn's and Ms. Marsh's charm!"
Only then did Haleigh feel relieved.
She specifically sought out experienced reporters to broadcast the grand wedding live, as she had meticulously planned it for a long time. She wanted everyone to witness the magnificence of the Delacruz family!
"Ah, Mrs. Delacruz?" The reporter suddenly remembered something and turned to ask, "When is Old Mr. Delacruz coming today? I'd like to take some pictures of him."
"Um..."
Unexpectedly, the reporter suddenly asked about Steve.
Haleigh touched her nose, looking a bit uneasy.
She couldn't possibly tell them that Steve had made it clear early on that he wouldn't be attending
the wedding.
Haleigh just couldn't understand why the stubborn old man refused to accept Laila. She was such a good girl. Even when Gavyn had tried to talk to him about Laila recently, he had been beaten with a cane several times. It broke her heart to see that, but she didn't have the courage to stand up against him.
It wasn't appropriate to openly discuss such an embarrassing matter, so Haleigh could only pretend
to cough twice and say with regret, "Um... the thing is, Old Mr. Delacruz hasn't been feeling well
these
past few days. Ah... when people get older, it's inevitable that they'll have some health issues. But Alfred, Old Mr. Delacruz's assistant, is here, and he represents Old Mr. Delacruz himself."
The reporter glanced at Alfred, somewhat puzzled, "But marriage is such an important matter, can Alfred represent him?"
He glanced at the Alfred that Haleigh mentioned. Well, he has arrived, but his expression doesn't seem like he is here to congratulate the newlyweds.
Could it be that he is here to sabotage?
Haleigh glanced at Alfred several times, unsure of what he was there for, but she was afraid that the more she tried to figure it out, the more confused she would become. Just then, Gavyn and Laila walked hand in hand, taking their time as they approached.
She hurriedly pushed the reporter, "Quick, go take a close-up shot!"
Laila's skirt bloomed like a delicate flower, creating a beautiful circle on the ground, and immediately, the surrounding guests erupted with cheers and applause. Laila looked at the handsome man beside her, and her cheeks, already flushed with blush, turned even redder.
"Gavyn, starting today, I am your wife."
She had a charming and innocent look on her face. Gavyn glanced at her and responded with a nod.
"Gavyn, I promise to be a virtuous wife in the future. I'll wait for you to come home every day, cook for you, and do your laundry..."
Laila's laughter was gentle and delicate, yet she didn't realize that her words had unexpectedly pierced through the man's originally calm facade.
Suddenly, an image appeared before Gavyn's eyes: Aylin waiting for him to come home, cooking for him, washing his clothes, and doing so much more for him.
